The Authority of Jesus

Matthew 28:18. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

People are destined to fail because they are unaware of seven essential truths. Humanity was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and therefore, true happiness can only be found in knowing God.

However, all have sinned and fallen into the hands of Satan. As a result, the image of God within them was broken, and spiritual death entered their lives, cutting them off completely from the glory of God (Genesis 3:1–10; Ephesians 2:1–2; John 8:44).

Consequently, failure, death, and suffering became permanent parts of human life (Genesis 3:11–20). Everyone is a sojourner, passing through life, eventually returning to the Creator God to spend eternity either in heaven or in hell (Luke 16:19–31).

To restore life and the broken image of God in us, Jesus came to destroy the power of Satan, sin, and hell (1 John 3:8; Mark 10:45; John 14:6). How was this possible?

Because Jesus was both God and man (John 1:14). He is the Christ—the Anointed One! This is why, when one receives and believes in Jesus as the Christ, all problems of the past, present, and future are resolved once and for all (Matthew 11:28).

Understanding the authority of Jesus Christ, our relationship to it, and how to use it is key to living a victorious life. Knowing His authority means we also possess spiritual authority. Without it, we cannot help those still under the power of the devil (Acts 10:38). In other words, true evangelism will not take place.

The greatest challenge in life is overcoming the authority of evil spirits, which seek to bring failure into our lives. But the authority that breaks Satan’s power belongs to Christ—and God has given that same authority to those who believe: “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)

Receiving and believing in Jesus as the Christ changes everything—our identity and our authority. Jesus possesses all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18), and with His authority, nothing is impossible. There is nothing we cannot overcome in the name of Jesus.

Jesus also has authority over sin: “But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” (Matthew 9:6). Everyone is burdened under the curse of sin. But as the True Priest, Jesus broke the power of sin and death by giving His life as a ransom for us all (Mark 10:45).

When you experience the authority of Jesus—your True King—defeating Satan in your life, you will be amazed: “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” (Mark 1:27)

Scripture says Jesus came to destroy the devil’s work (1 John 3:8). But what exactly is the devil’s work? According to Genesis 3:1–10, it’s planting pride and unbelief in people’s hearts. This is how Satan led all of humanity to rebel against God. And he continues to use the same tactics today, leading the world astray (Revelation 12:9). This is the very work Jesus came to destroy.

To this end, God sent His Son to rescue us from the dominion of darkness and bring us into the kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13). What is the dominion of darkness? It is the power of hell. As our True Prophet, Jesus transferred us from hell to heaven through Himself (John 14:6).

Our eternal destiny is determined by the authority of Jesus, the ultimate Judge: “And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man” (John 5:24). Truly, His name and His authority are remarkable—God made it so.

Through Christ, God opened the way for us to experience heaven here on earth: “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” (John 16:24).

We have full access to what’s in the kingdom of God: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).

As a good Father, God has given His children the master key to His house. That master key is the name and authority of Jesus Christ, our Lord. And He wants us to use it.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the authority You gave me when I believed in Your Son, Jesus, as the Christ. Now I know that nothing is impossible through His name and His authority. So I will go and make disciples of all nations, just as You commanded. Lead me to the places You want me to go with the gospel.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

No Other Name

Acts 4:12. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved.

Only in the name of Jesus can we receive salvation and answers to prayer. But how can you truly experience the power of His name? You must first know who Jesus is. On the cross, He resolved all of your long-standing, fundamental problems once and for all:

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5–6)

When you come and kneel before the throne of God in Jesus’ name, every problem is unraveled. In His name, you overcome every circumstance. In His name, you begin to see God’s hidden blessings behind every trial and hardship.

This is the privilege of the saints. Nothing can touch those who have been marked with the name of Jesus. That is how awesome and powerful His name truly is.

When you know Jesus as your True King, you will experience freedom from the hand of Satan:

“The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.” (1 John 3:8)

When you know Jesus as your True Priest, you will experience freedom from the law of sin and death:

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1–2)

When you know Jesus as your True Prophet, you will experience a new and living way to God:

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)

Trust in the name of Jesus, and you will begin to enjoy God’s fundamental blessings—spiritually, physically, and in every aspect of life:

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” (3 John 1:2)

Salvation comes when you believe what God has done for you through Christ:

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

No one can be forced to believe; it is only through faith in the Word of God. The Holy Spirit is the one who helps you realize why God has wanted to save you since the beginning of time:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Simply attending church is not enough. You must receive Jesus as the Christ. Receive Him as Lord and Savior through prayer—acknowledge Him and invite Him into the center of your life:

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20)

When you do, the Holy Spirit will enter your life and change your identity—from a child of the devil to a child of God:

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.” (John 14:16)

Your body becomes a dwelling place for God:

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

This makes you incredibly valuable. Nothing can destroy you. With the help of the Holy Spirit, you will begin to understand the depth of your identity and blessings:

“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.” (1 Corinthians 2:12)

As a child of God, you won’t be intimidated. You won’t live in envy. You won’t compromise. Most of all, you will stop worrying about life:

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:26–27)

The Holy Spirit becomes your Guide and Counselor, always pointing you to the Word of God.

Now you have the right to ask in Jesus’ name and receive: “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:14)

Pray while holding onto His Word: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7)

In your mission field, you are under the protection and service of God’s angel armies: “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)

Angels are real. They carry out God’s Word and serve those who belong to Him:

“Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.” (Psalm 103:20–22)

Even in your weakness, the Holy Spirit empowers you to break Satan’s power in Jesus’ name. When God called you, He also gave you this authority: “And to have authority to drive out demons.” (Mark 3:15)

Now, you are under the protection of heaven: “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)

You have full access to the things above and can unlock them with the keys Jesus has given you:

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)

You’ve received the authority and privilege to save the world with the gospel:

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:18–20)

But it is vital to declare and profess this truth:

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” (Romans 10:9–10)

“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32–33)

The only true confession must be: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)

That’s why we must publicly proclaim His name: “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:21)

Finally, you will demonstrate the evidence of Jesus’ name working in your life through evangelism:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

As you commit to living as Christ’s witness, you will experience the power of the Holy Spirit. That is the best way to live:

“‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus replied, ‘no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.’” (Mark 10:29–30)

Trials and hardships may come, but they are nothing compared to what awaits you: “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18)

Don’t get trapped in the maze of religion—break free and stand firm on God’s eternal covenant!

Begin a deep, personal relationship with God. Daily fellowship with Him is the true source of strength. How do you do this? Meditate on the Word all day long. That is the highest form of prayer and the purest way to enjoy God.

In every situation, don’t rely on your own strength or understanding. Acknowledge Jesus as Lord and obey Him out of love.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the mighty name of Jesus, who saved me from the power of Satan, sin, and hell. Use my life to proclaim His name to all nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Name of Jesus

John 17:11-12. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

The name of Jesus Christ was prophesied for thousands of years. All prophecies concerning Him were recorded in the 39 books of the Old Testament—and Jesus fulfilled every one of them!

That’s why His name is above every name. At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow—in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Philippians 2:9–10). It is truly a remarkable name.

Throughout history, every nation that called on His name was spared from disaster and experienced incredible blessings. The name of Jesus has transformed everything—ideologies, philosophies, politics, economies, and cultures.

Anyone who understands the power of Jesus’ name can impact lives around the world (Acts 1:8). Even in the face of hardship and persecution, the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God overcomes the world (1 John 5:4–5).

God has given us the most powerful name. When we rejoice in His name, pray in His name, and give thanks in all circumstances through the power of His name, we will witness the amazing works of God in our lives (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18).

The world is full of deception fueled by the kingdom of Satan. Nothing in this world can offer true peace and happiness. Do not be deceived by the promises of the world.

In the name of Jesus, you will discover the mystery of God. Through His name, you will experience the power of God. The name of Jesus is the master key that opens every door.

Once Jesus opens a door, no one can shut it (Revelation 3:8). Behind that door are great and unsearchable things that God has prepared for you (Jeremiah 33:3). When you discover them, you will testify to what you have seen and heard. This is the privilege and blessing of evangelism and missions.

So, what is the great mystery within the name of Jesus? Humanity is without rest and peace because of separation from God. No worldly method can restore that relationship. People wander through life searching for meaning, but nothing they possess can stop the disasters they face. They cannot escape the power of Satan, sin, and hell.

Motivated by His great love for us, God placed all our problems on Christ—the True King, True Priest, and True Prophet. When we believe in the name of Jesus, the power of Satan is broken: “The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1 John 3:8).

Jesus solved every problem of life. He removed the root cause—Satan. Through Christ, God delivered us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13).

When we pray in the name of Jesus, God dispatches His angelic armies, invisible to our eyes, to carry out His will (Hebrews 12:22). Aware of our weakness, He sends His angels to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14).

You belong to the kingdom of heaven. The moment you believed in Jesus’ name, God granted you heavenly citizenship and blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 1:3).

This doesn’t mean we don’t need anything in the world, but we must first experience the spiritual blessings of God. Without these foundational blessings, we may end up living like unbelievers—something that is not fitting for God’s children.

Therefore, we must pray to our glorious Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, asking Him to give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we may know Him better (Ephesians 1:17).

We also ask that God open the eyes of our hearts so we may understand the hope to which we are called, and the riches of His glorious inheritance in His people.

God’s power is at work in us who believe. It is the same mighty strength He used to raise Christ from the dead and seat Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 1:18–20).

Remember, if you believe that Jesus is the Christ, you already possess everything: “That they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:2–3).

Listen to Paul’s confession after discovering this truth: “But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord… I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him” (Philippians 3:7–9).

This is the incredible grace of God revealed in Christ. Even now, Jesus is praying for us: “They are still in the world. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name—the name You gave Me” (John 17:11).

Nothing saves like the name of Jesus. Nothing protects like His name. Nothing empowers like His name. Only with His name, one can overcome Satan, sin, or hell (Acts 4:12).

So hold firmly to His name. Use His name. Proclaim His name to all nations. Heal the world through the power of His name.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the name of Jesus Christ—the name above every name. By the power of His name, I know I will overcome the world and bring people back to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Growing in Christ

1 Peter 2:2-3. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Mankind was created uniquely to be with God (Genesis 1:27) and was blessed to enjoy a relationship with Him (Genesis 1:28). But sin brought death to all people: “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins” (Ephesians 2:1).

Because of sin, we were separated from God, came under the power of the devil, and in the shadow of the curse of hell. That’s why the only way to life is to be born again through Christ. Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again” (John 3:3). By God’s grace, when we believed, we experienced His goodness, that is, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Like newborn babies longing for milk, we should desire the pure Word of God, which helps us grow strong in our salvation (1 Peter 2:2–3). Continue to search the Scriptures to discover how we meet and enjoy God. As you do, you’ll see that Jesus is truly the way, the truth, and the life, because He is the Christ (John 14:6).

God also wants us to grow and mature in our faith, “attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13). Those who still live on spiritual milk are not yet mature. But those who have grown in their faith can discern what is good and what is not (Hebrews 5:13–14).

So let’s also keep sharing Christ with others. We teach and guide others with wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ (Colossians 1:28). Don’t give up doing good. Let patience work in your life. In the end, it will make you complete and mature—just as God wants you to be (James 1:4).

As you grow in Christ, others will notice. You will be His witness wherever you go—even to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). Continue to enjoy the new life you’ve been given. Trust God in every situation. Live out your identity and authority in Christ.

Stay rooted in the gospel, not in religion. Let the Word of God strengthen you in the grace of Christ. And God will use your life to make Jesus known in places where He has not yet been proclaimed (Romans 15:20).

Prayer. Father, thank You for feeding me with Your Word today. Help me grow strong in Christ. Open my eyes to see more of Him in the Word. Lead me to places where Christ is not yet known, and help me proclaim Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How Did Life Come to Us?

John 10:10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Salvation came to us by the grace of God. God chose us before the creation of the world (Ephesians 1:5). We were made alive when we returned to the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ. He has forgiven all our sins, given us rest (Acts 3:19–20), and made us clean from all the wrong we had done (1 John 1:9).

When we accepted Jesus as the Christ, God gave us the right to become His children (John 1:12). When we declared, “Jesus is Lord,” and believed in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we were saved. Our Lord Jesus made us right with God (Romans 10:9–10).

Salvation is deliverance from the power of Satan. This is why it can only come from God. Even our faith is a gift from Him (Ephesians 2:8–9). Salvation is not based on what we have done, but on what Christ accomplished on the cross. That is why it is secure. We became God’s children not by human desire or effort, but by being born of God Himself (John 1:13). That is why it is eternal.

The source of our faith is the Spirit: “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit” (John 3:6). The foundation of our faith is the Word of God: “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23).

So, do not be deceived. Let God’s standard of salvation be your standard. Let His righteousness be your righteousness. Let Christ’s victory be your victory.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the gift of faith I have in Jesus Christ. It was given to me by Your grace. Help me to live under Your grace and by faith in Christ, who loved me and gave Himself for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What Happens When You Possess Life?

Romans 8:1-2. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Receiving Jesus as the Christ is receiving life: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20).

When you believed, a new life with Christ began. Every day is now a celebration with Him in His kingdom. Because of Christ, you have life to the full (John 10:10), and you will become His witness, testifying to this life.

Remember, nothing can destroy you. God’s Spirit lives in you and will never leave you. It is the Spirit that gives life (John 6:63).

You may fail, but God never does. Through Christ, God has set you free from the law of sin and death that once brought spiritual death, disaster and failure into your life.

Life has power. Because you now possess life, the power of God will be displayed in your life as you hold onto His Word and devote yourself to prayer (Acts 1:14).

Nothing can stop the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised (Acts 2:1–4). No one can shut the door God has opened for you (Revelation 3:8).

Unbelievers walk the path of eternal destruction because they do not have this life. But why do so many believers still fail in life?

It’s because they do not know what God has already given them through Christ: life and power. As a result, they grieve and quench the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19). They do what the Spirit doesn’t want and neglect what the Spirit desires.

Many believers are not led by the Spirit of God. That’s why they end up living like unbelievers—seeking the very things that fill the minds of those who don’t know God. This is the tragic reality of many believers today.

Listen to what Jesus said: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26).

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:13).

So, do not worry about anything. You are a child of the Most High God, the Creator of the universe. You are precious and honored in His sight. God loves you and would give anything in exchange for you (Isaiah 43:3).

Through Christ, God has permanently changed your destiny. You are no longer a child of the devil. God has adopted you into His family and given you the Spirit that declares you are His chosen child. The Spirit Himself speaks to your spirit, confirming that you are God’s child (Romans 8:15–16).

God has also transformed your mind and heart. You are no longer a slave to sin but a servant of righteousness. In the past, sin controlled you. But through Christ, you were set free from sin and became a slave to His righteousness (Romans 6:17–18).

Now, freed from the power of sin, you are a servant of God, living only for Him. The outcome is eternal life (Romans 6:22).

God is inviting you into the best life—a life led by the Holy Spirit. You once lived as the world does, following the ruler of the powers of the air. That same spirit is now at work in those who refuse to obey God (Ephesians 2:2). But now you are a new creation in Christ.

Let the Spirit lead you, for you are not under the law (Galatians 5:18). He will take you places you never imagined—even to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

Prayer. Father, I thank You for Jesus—His life and His power. His life and power are all I need. Help me experience them in every circumstance today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Wrong Path That Leads to Death

Proverbs 14:12. There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

When God created us, He planted eternity in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). He made only mankind a spiritual being (Genesis 2:7). That is why people alone search for Him. But the power of Satan, sin, and hell has kept many from meeting God.

In their desperate search for answers, many turn to religion. All religions may seem right, but in the end, they lead to death. Why? Because their origin is human, and their standard is based on human effort. The way of salvation in every religion depends on good works.

That is why religion can only bring external change. Religious people try to cover themselves, but, like garments made of fig leaves, their efforts do not last (Genesis 3:7). Eventually, their condition becomes worse than before (Matthew 12:45). Religion cannot restore life. It cannot solve the fundamental issue of original sin, which brought death to all humanity.

People knew God but did not honor Him as God or give thanks to Him. Their thoughts became worthless, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. Instead of worshiping the eternal and glorious God, they exchanged His glory for idols—images resembling humans, birds, animals, and reptiles (Romans 1:21–23). This is Satan’s deception.

Though many religious leaders taught moral paths, none could prove they were the Christ—God’s Anointed One, the only one who can destroy the power of Satan, sin, and hell.

That is why no religion can offer salvation: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

There is only one God, and only one way to reach Him—through Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5–6). This is the gospel.

Some follow worldly philosophy, which also leads to death. Philosophers have left behind many ideas, attempting to answer life’s deepest questions, but they, too, could not escape their own spiritual problems.

Scripture warns us not to be misled by hollow and deceptive philosophies that depend on human tradition and the spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ (Colossians 2:8).

Others try upright living—a life of morality and discipline—but that alone cannot give life. Even if you follow all of God’s commandments but fail in just one, you are guilty of breaking the entire law (James 2:10).

No one can earn salvation by keeping the law. God saved us, not because of anything we have done, but because of His purpose and grace, given to us in Christ Jesus before time began (2 Timothy 1:9).

We are saved by grace through faith. It is not from ourselves; it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8–9). Even the faith to believe is a gift from Him.

Some try to hide their weakness with pride, wealth, and success. They seek satisfaction in the desires of the flesh and the lust of the eyes (1 John 2:16). But these pursuits only lead to deeper misery, shame, guilt, and pain.

People trade eternal blessings for the temporary pleasures of the world. Their minds are blinded by the god of this age, so they cannot hear God’s call to return to Him (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Judging by their own standards, people fail to see that God is not seeking to punish them—but to save them (Genesis 3:9). Obsessed with their shame, they don’t realize His grace is reaching out.

People build their lives with things like gold, silver, jewels, wood, grass, or straw. But the quality of each person’s work will be revealed, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the work of each builder (1 Corinthians 3:12–13).

But we were redeemed from an empty way of life, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ—a lamb without blemish or defect (1 Peter 1:18–19).

So be careful how you build. The only foundation that stands is Jesus Christ. No other foundation can be laid (1 Corinthians 3:11).

Therefore, stand firm on the foundation of God’s Word. Hold onto His promises throughout the day. Fill your heart with gratitude for the Way that leads to life—Christ Jesus, our Lord. Proclaim Him to those who are still searching for the way back to life.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for leading me to the path of life through Your Son. Hold me fast, so that the things of this world will not shake me. Help me stand firm on the foundation of Your Word, and remind me daily of Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Know Your Real Enemy

1 Peter 5:6-8. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Scripture tells us that the whole world is under the control of the evil one, Satan (1 John 5:19). He had the audacity to challenge God (Ezekiel 28:14–19; Isaiah 14:12–15), and ever since, he has been working to take what belongs to God. The devil seized authority over the kingdom of the air (Ephesians 2:2) and now rules the world through spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). He was the one who deceived Adam and Eve, leading them into sin and death (Genesis 3:1–10), and he holds the power of death (Hebrews 2:14).

He has trapped humanity in the prison of self-reliance and self-centeredness (Genesis 3), corruption and indulgence (Genesis 6), and pride and pursuit of material success (Genesis 11). Instead of loving God, people have become lovers of self, of money, and of success—only to find themselves lost in formlessness, emptiness, and darkness. The devil has built invisible structures around us using political powers (Acts 13), economic systems (Acts 16), and cultural influences (Acts 19), shaping the way people live and think in this dark world.

Rather than experiencing the abundant life God promised, people have been forced to conform to the patterns of this world. We have all gone astray, turning to our own way (Isaiah 53:6), and in doing so, have become children of the devil. The ancient serpent, called the devil or Satan, has been lying from the beginning, offering false happiness, false hope, and an empty future. Caught in his traps and held by his frames, people live to fulfill his desires, unaware that his only intention is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10).

The result is tragic. Humanity is destined to live as children of the devil (John 8:44), worshiping idols (Exodus 20:4–5), suffering in mind (Matthew 11:28) and body (Acts 8:4–8), condemned eternally in hell (Luke 16:19–31), and passing down generational curses (Matthew 27:25). But in His love, God did not leave us helpless. He gave us authority over the power of the enemy when we believed (Luke 10:19), reminding us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12).

Just as a physical body becomes sick when germs invade and are left unchecked, so too does the soul become vulnerable when spiritual defenses are down. The devil prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). He uses all kinds of schemes to weaken our faith, tempting us to embrace religion over the gospel. He blinds people from seeing the truth and blocks the road to life through the law of sin and death. This is the greatest tragedy of all time.

Yet, because of His great love, God sent Christ to destroy the devil’s work and open the way to Himself. Through Christ, we have been set free from Satan’s power, and God is determined to crush Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20). When we recognize our true enemy and understand the authority God has given us, nothing can stand in our way. The doors of blessing will open, and we’ll realize that nothing works apart from this spiritual reality. We must remember that the devil still exists, still rebels, and continues to lead the world astray—trying to weaken the church.

Even Jesus was challenged by the devil (Matthew 4:1–10), so we too will be challenged. The devil will try to plant seeds of unbelief, to wear us down, and draw our hearts toward the world. This is the same way he took life from us in the beginning. Therefore, we must stay alert and spiritually grounded.

The world’s condition continues to deteriorate. Nations are advancing rapidly, and modern technology is transforming every part of life, even extending lifespans. Yet people continue to suffer, and the human heart grows darker. Many live in despair, especially the younger generation, not knowing their purpose. The “terrible times” are not just coming—they are already here (2 Timothy 3:1). That is why we must fight the good spiritual fight.

Before facing the enemy, put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). Pray in every circumstance (Ephesians 6:18). Never underestimate your faith in Christ. Only those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, overcome the world and gain victory (1 John 5:4).

Remember that God is on your side. No one can stand against you. His foolishness is wiser than your wisdom, and His weakness stronger than your strength. His ways are higher than yours, and His thoughts far beyond your own (Isaiah 55:9).

So restore your faith in Christ. Know who you are in Christ. Rely on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for destroying the devil’s work through Christ. Open my eyes to see the enemy’s schemes. Fill me with Your power so I can stand against him. Use my life to bring freedom and healing, through the gospel, to those still living under the enemy’s power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The End of All Your Problems

John 1:12. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

Receiving and believing in Jesus as the Christ marks the end of your long-standing problems—Satan, sin, and hell (John 1:12). Why? Because in Christ there is life, and that life is the light. When the light shines in the darkness, the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:4–5).

So why do believers still struggle and fail in life? It is because they do not do “whatever Jesus tells them” (John 2:5). He is not the Lord of their lives. As a result, they wander, trying to steer their lives according to the ways of the world. Joy, peace, and rest become distant or entirely absent.

Sadly, many turn to religion and miraculous signs (John 3:2), without understanding what truly matters—the new birth through the Spirit (John 3:5). Instead of finding security in Christ, they rely on their own efforts, which only lead to discouragement and despair.

In their desperation, some chase after beliefs rooted in myths and physical experiences (John 4:19): superstitions, idols, blind faith, religious extremism, humanism, and mysticism. Satan uses these as tools to destroy lives.

Receiving Christ means receiving life. Until that life is received, everything one does is in vain: “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life” (John 6:63). Life changes everything. That is why Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Ultimately, everything depends not on what you do, but on who you are. When you receive life in Christ, God gives you a new identity as His child. The moment you become a child of God is the moment the power of Satan, sin, and hell loses its grip on your life.

Remember, you possess life. The Holy Spirit dwells in you and will lead you to victory in every area of your life. Make Christ the center of your life, and cast off your anxiety, your problems, and the burden of your sins. Let go of your stubbornness. Throw away your worries, negativity, and pessimism. Stop relying on your own strength or experiences. Cast aside all unbelief—because the Holy Spirit within you is perfect.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for settling all my problems through Christ on the cross. By Your grace, I now possess life. Remind me of my true identity in every circumstance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A New Creation

2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

The gospel is life itself—not merely physical life, but spiritual life that comes from God, the Creator of all life. To receive this life is to bid an eternal farewell to Satan, who holds the power of death (Hebrews 2:14). The gospel is also light and the power of God, the very power that created the world (Genesis 1:3, John 1:9). This power is able to save (1 Corinthians 1:18) and is the answer to everything (Ephesians 1:19-20).

Many continue to struggle with their problems because they do not know that Jesus Christ is this life, light, and power. This is the greatest mystery of all time. But when someone receives and believes in Jesus as the Christ, that person is eternally saved and cannot be destroyed. That is the effect of life, light, and power.

Even those in the Old Testament era were saved by believing in the shadow of Christ. Now, to all who receive Him and believe in His name, God gives the right to become His children (John 1:12). Scripture was written so we may know and believe that Jesus is the Christ (John 20:31). It reveals the way to meet God, the way to overcome Satan, and the path to salvation.

When someone discovers this way of salvation, the light of the gospel continues to shine upon them, and the power of life becomes evident. God’s blessings manifest clearly in their lives. When you truly experience Christ, every promise in Scripture becomes real for you. You will find that the Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12).

Trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord allows the Holy Spirit to dwell in you forever (John 14:16). Without this experience of Christ living in you through the Holy Spirit, you’re left to rely on your own limited ways and thoughts, often resulting in unnecessary suffering. But as a child of God, you are His temple, and nothing can destroy you (1 Corinthians 3:16).

You have been promised the complete guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26-27), and you will find victory in all circumstances. The only response is to live a life led by the Spirit. All things become possible when you are guided by Him. When you call on God the Father in Jesus’ name, the Holy Spirit works powerfully in and through you.

By taking the Word into your heart and praying, Satan—the strong man—is bound (Matthew 12:29). This is possible because Christ, who has all authority in heaven and on earth, is with you. When you carry the Word into your mission field, Satan will submit to you (Romans 16:20), and you will come to see just how blessed evangelism truly is.

God also sends His angel armies to carry out His plans where His people pray (Psalm 103:20-22, Revelation 8:3-5). This was seen with Moses and the Israelites: “Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them” (Exodus 14:19). This is a crucial spiritual reality to remember in prayer.

Because you belong to heaven (Philippians 3:20), you no longer need to fear the things of this world. You’ve been entrusted with the keys to the kingdom of heaven, with full protection and access to its resources. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19). Your prayers have the power to move the throne of God.

Now that the Holy Spirit lives in you, you have the privilege to overcome the world and save those under the power of the devil. These are the blessings that come with life, light, and power. The old is gone, and the new has come. Experience this new life in Christ—and proclaim it to the world.

Prayer. Father, thank You for the eternal blessing of life, light, and power through Your Son, Jesus Christ. By Your grace and mercy, I have been made a new creation. Use my life to let Your glory be known to all nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
