Call to Worship
“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Praise
I Will Worship You
Words by Seok Jin Oh; Music by Ha Young Yoo

In the Spirit Lord, I will worship You.
And in truth alone I will worship You.
With the gospel of life, I will worship You.
For You are worthy of all glory, Lord.

Father, Son, and Spirit, I will worship You.
With the covenant, I will worship You.
With the blessing of the throne, I will worship You.
Lord, let your power be revealed through my life.

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day, He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence, He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Written by Thomas O. Chisholm (1923)

1 Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided:
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

2 Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest;
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

3 Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow:
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Scripture Reading
1 Samuel 1:9-11
Read by Pastor Francis Kiiza

Once when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah stood up. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his chair by the doorpost of the Lord’s house. 10 In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. 11 And she made a vow, saying, “Lord Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the Lord for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head.”

Special Music
You, Man of God
Written by Lee Won Hee

Winds of trouble may rage on
And things may be going wrong
Never forget you are in the ship
Where the Captain, God, is strong

Words of deception call on,
Temptations are all around
Conquer them all as you listen to
The gentle voice of God

God sees the world and sighs with grief
His heart breaks inside
Where are the ones with the true gospel?
Not one can He find!

You, man of God, be strong.
Be strong in the grace of Christ
What you have learned and heard from me
Entrust to reliable men

You, man of God, be strong
This gospel you must preach on
God’s Holy Spirit will be with you
Forever in all you do

Message
Devotion That Saw the Five Flows
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su

▣ Introduction
※ Don’t try to fix your situation; instead, cultivate fundamental strength.
1. Build the bartizan of the Lord first – God changed Hannah’s prayer filled with resentment so that God’s covenant would appear as a bartizan.
2. The five flows Hannah finally saw – Hannah realized that not having children was not the real problem.
1) She discovered that no one could stop the continuous oppression by the Philistines.
2) Israel had the covenant of God, but was powerless and without a leader.
3) The church where the Word had been cut off.
4) The church where prayer had ceased.
5) The church where the revelation of the Word had ended.
3. Eli’s blessing – The blessing prayer of the Lord’s servants.
4. It is critical that the bartizan changes. Wait. Enjoy. Do not despair. Bring it to God (Luke 18:1-8).

▣ Main Message – The three graces Hannah received when building the bartizan.

1. The Grace of Realization (Heavenly Mandate) – A platform is established.
1) Nazirite – A leader who performs the roles of king and priest while praying; someone who knows the world but also understands the spiritual.
2) A Watchman of Prayer.

2. The Unexpected Grace (Calling)
1) The Philistines lost to Samuel and Hannah’s prayers and returned the Ark of the Covenant (1 Samuel 3:19).
2) The Mizpah Movement that saved the entire nation (1 Samuel 7:1-12).
3) During Samuel’s lifetime, there was no war (1 Samuel 7:13-14).

3. Grace Concerning the Future – The antenna of the throne was established. Samuel raised David (1 Samuel 16:1-13).
1) David defeated Goliath.
2) David held onto the covenant delivered by Samuel and overcame suffering – the 1,000 bartizans.
3) David completed preparations for the temple that would save the world.

▣ Conclusion – Answers to today’s prayer come through the Word.
1. Answers to prayers
1) Immediate answers.
2) No answers.
3) Waiting – Abraham (25 years), Jacob (20 years), Joseph (17 years), David (over 20 years), the Early Church (250 years).
▷ Hold firmly onto the Word and do not lose it.
2. Today – Three Concentrations, Three Settings, Three Answers.
3. First, build the bartizan of the Lord. The grace of realization, the unexpected grace regarding descendants, and the grace concerning the future will be seen.

We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Written by Don Besig and Nancy Price

1 Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

2 We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.

Benediction
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
