Hymn
You Are My All in All
Dennis Jernigan

You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all
Seeking You as a precious jewel
Lord to give up I’d be a fool
You are my all in all

Jesus Lamb of God worthy is Your name
Jesus Lamb of God worthy is Your name

Taking my sin my cross my shame
Rising again I bless your name
You are my all in all
When I fall down you pick me up
When I am dry You fill my cup
You are my all in all

Jesus Lamb of God worthy is Your name
Jesus Lamb of God worthy is Your name

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day, He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence, He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Holy Universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Scripture Reading
2 Kings 6:8-19

Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.”

The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.” 10 So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.

11 This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?”

12 “None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”

13 “Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.” 14 Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

18 As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike this army with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked.

19 Elisha told them, “This is not the road and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for.” And he led them to Samaria.

▣ Introduction: You must know the spiritual flow.
1. Satan’s strategy for destruction – idol worship (the work of evil spirits)
– The power that comes from idol worship is the work of evil spirits.
– “You will become like God.” “You will become like the Nephilim.”
– Build the Tower of Babel and succeed.
– When that fails—Acts 13, shamanism; Acts 16, rituals; Acts 19, make idols and force worship. They are continually dragged by Satan.
– Problems come: disease of the heart, mental illness, physical illness, hell, and inherited issues passed down to children.

In every age, Satan enters the heart of the king and makes them create idols and command worship.

2. Exodus 5:1–12:46. Those who realized this were used. “Moses, go offer the blood sacrifice. Destroy all the dark culture of Egypt.”

3. On Mt Carmel, during the reign of King Ahab, when the nation had turned into an idol-worshiping country, the false prophets were destroyed.
– At Mt Horeb, the word God gave to Elijah – I will change the king. The 7,000 disciples, Elisha.
– 1 Kings 19:19–21. Elisha left everything and followed Elijah at that time.

▣ Main Point
1. Acts 19:19–21. The heavenly mandate – the calling from Mt Horeb
1) 1 Kings 18:1–15. Amid crisis, the church leader Obadiah hid 100 prophets—this changed the age.
2) 1 Kings 18:25–46. Complete spiritual victory in the confrontation with false prophets
3) 1 Kings 19:1–21. God led Elijah to Mt Horeb and gave him the Word. Elisha was called at this time—called in the greatest crisis. One who was called before the covenant.
▷ Remnants must have the courage to follow the Word. If it is God’s plan, no matter how unfavorable it looks, it becomes the heavenly mandate.

2. 2 Kings 2:9–11. The calling – While others sought their position and status, Elisha did not
1) No calculation
2) No concern for position – He was not observing positions.
3) Covenantal relationship – He entered the covenantal relationship with God. “Grant me a double portion of your spirit.”

3. 2 Kings 6:8–24. The mission – At last, the Dothan Movement begins
1) Advance answers (vv.8–13) – Elisha knew in advance when the Aramean army would attack.
2) Background (vv.14–16) – Wherever you go, the heavenly army protects you.
3) Victory without fighting (vv.17–23) – The prayer of Elisha

▣ Conclusion:  Gain strength. There is a strength God has promised. He promised you would receive power.
1. Power
2. Tacit – A strength beyond understanding
3. Authority – Power that descends from above. God has promised it.
4. Heavenly, thronely, eternally
5. Trinity – The greatest promise is that the Triune God will be with you invisibly.
▷ Never be shaken. Do not be discouraged in any situation. You only need to know one thing. It is neither failure nor success. God has placed you with the purpose of world evangelization.
▷ God has promised to be with you always, to the very end of the age. He works invisibly through the Holy Spirit. He mobilizes the heavenly army wherever you are.
