The Disasters of Rome and World Evangelization

Scripture Reading: Romans 1:16-17

From Caesarea Philippi to Rome, this is “Rome’s disasters and world evangelization.” It is extremely important. As I said on Sunday in Part 1, I asked God three questions. “Why are this age, the church, and families so poor, with illness and incompetence?” I honestly asked that deep in my heart. God gave me assurance: you will become a witness—yes. So God gave blessings enough for me to be a witness. And among many evidences, the greatest evidence is that through you, the doors of the world are opening. I asked the second question: “Why are churches around the world closing?” I asked that question a lot. “Why are 70–90% of Korean churches non-self-supporting?” At that time, God placed in my heart that we must do the correct gospel and the correct evangelism movement. I received that covenant. And, “If we go on like this, what will happen to the future generations of the whole world?” At that time, I found the term “the Remnant movement.” And I found the three courtyards, the three-day weekend age, like this.

Introduction—The Roman church (opposing actions)
So Rome engaged in actions that opposed world evangelization. The Roman church, yes. This Roman church did only what was opposite. It could not be otherwise. Because within humans, other bartizans and fortresses have already been formed, the only thing they can do is that.
1) Growth (evangelism disappears)—church authority (power)
First, there came tremendous growth and church authority. Because they simply set things by law. Rather than growth, evangelism disappeared. There was no need to evangelize. Because if the king says, “We are Protestant,” then it is Protestant. If the king says, “From today we believe in God,” then people believe. As it went like this, when Emperor Constantine declared Christianity the state religion, it became an uproar. Especially for the Jews, it became an even greater uproar. The Jews had labeled Christianity as heresy, but when it became the state religion—church authority became enormous. They thought it was power. This became the path of receiving complete disasters.
2) The tyranny of the church (selling indulgences)
So how far did it go? The church reached the stage of committing tyranny. They created the seven sacraments, did they not? Even marriage as a sacrament—seeing marriage as a sacrament, you could say that is acceptable. But the most ambiguous is confession. Confession is not biblical. And what is also concerning is what is called last rites. Because it is related to salvation: “You are about to die, but we still do not know whether you will go to heaven or hell.” The Bible says, “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12), and “Whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life” (John 5:24). They completely reject these. “Even if you believe in Jesus it’s useless. At the last moment, whether you go to heaven or hell—if you give a lot of offering then it will clink-clink and you will go up to heaven!” Truly, Catholicism is something. That was still okay. But they even sold indulgences. Then what happens? The tyranny is no small matter. This was the medieval era, the Roman church.
3) Luther
At this time Luther spoke. He made an appeal.
(1) Paul quoted Habakkuk 2:4, did he not? “But the righteous shall live by faith…”
(2) Romans 1:16–17—Paul said, “I have endured so much shame.” They humiliated Paul greatly. So Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,” and then in verse 17, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
(3) Luther—Luther quoted this. A great history took place.
Satan’s kingdom—Jesus said this. Satan’s kingdom—Jesus spoke of it. ① John 16:11–14, ② 2 Corinthians 4:4–5, ③ John 8:44: this Satan forms a kingdom and moves as the god of this world—he is your father. And that is even inside the church. Tomorrow, in the RTS special lecture, among other things, I will organize these three in full and speak to the seminarians about who produced all of this. Such tremendous things take place.

Main body—7/7/7 (God’s kingdom)
So Jesus explained it: establishing God’s kingdom. Jesus explained it for forty days. We must restore this again. Since we cannot defeat Satan’s kingdom by our strength, we win by God’s kingdom—this is what it means. You must hold to this covenant.
① It is possible through the field of one person. If you have grasped this (God’s kingdom), I prayed deeply with this even as I came this morning. I prayed this in the daytime as well. I do nothing else. Jesus told us not to do other things, did He not? And then, you must not be discouraged: ② the dedication of one person becomes like this. The disciple of one person that you leave behind becomes like this. In that one field we dedicated, and a disciple came out, did he not? This is the key. You must enjoy this. Then you will destroy this (Satan’s kingdom).

1. One person’s field
Now, one person.

1) Slavery — When they became slaves, one person—Moses—overturned it.
2) War — When they were continually tormented by war: “As long as Samuel lived, there was no war.” One person, David, completely crushed the Philistines. They were trembling before Assyria, but one person, Hezekiah, crushed it. They could not move a finger before Aram, but one person, Elisha, crushed it. They were taken as captives, but one person, Daniel, moved four kings. This is what it must be. It cannot be done by our strength. This is absolutely not my word; it is Jesus’ word. “Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar.”
3) Captivity — When they were taken captive, in one field, one person—not even many. You must believe it. If you start anew and even one disciple who understands this comes out for you, that is enough. If among the elders, only one person who truly enjoys this blessing comes out, your church will surely be revived. Tomorrow when we record as well, I will tell the church leaders: even one person is enough.
4) A subject nation
5) A wandering people — So what happens? In a subject nation, among wandering people, if even one person mixed in who has this covenant, disasters collapse.

2. One person’s dedication
With one person, what is the reason?
1) 237 nations
2) 5,000 tribes
3) TCK, CCK, NCK
With one person, 237; with one person, 5,000 tribes—this is what happens. This is completely God’s work. With one person, He saves TCK. He saves CCK, and He saves NCK. It is certain.

3. One disciple
After leaving this one disciple, among so many apostles, they did not understand.
1) Paul (Acts 19:8) — Paul understood. Only Paul spoke about the kingdom. He was not even on the field, yet he boldly explained the kingdom of God.
2) Luther — One person—Luther alone understood this in the medieval age.
3) Church leader — One church leader came out to help Luther—properly. With this, it was over. If you stand as one church leader, as one disciple, God gathers everything and goes forward, does He not?

Conclusion: Five kinds of 300% preparation
Then from now, I conclude with five things.
1) 300% studies — First: by the power of the throne upon me, 300% studies. I experienced this; I did it while attending school. From university through graduate school—that is only seven years, but I studied more—ten years. This is extremely full of grace. It is not burdensome.
2) 300% vocation — Make your vocation 300%. I did this when I was an assistant pastor. 300%. Since being an assistant pastor was my vocation, if I was assigned Sunday school, then I had to save only Sunday school, right? Nothing else is more important. If I was assigned middle and high school, then I had to save middle and high school. What is important? God gave me the university and young adults—then I save that. The standard is this. Professionalism, field-orientedness, system—never miss them. I only used those terms, but it is biblical. Simply put, it is saving me, saving the field, and saving people. That means saving the organization. So it is not a difficult expression.
3) 300% work — From now, your work must be like this. Then you will live. Without fail.
4) 300% evangelism — Do not worry about non-self-supporting churches. Do the evangelism movement at 300%. Do not go out here and there. 300%. If you do only one place a year like this, then in ten years it will explode. But if you do not do this and instead keep using tricks…
5) 300% missions — All our missionaries in mission fields around the world—prepare 300% missions.
They call that God’s kingdom. They call that the work of God’s kingdom. They call that the power of the throne. No one can block it. Because it is God’s work, you can begin evangelism gently like that. There is no need to rush. When you are an assistant pastor, not only do you have no power, you also have no reason to use power, right? As an assistant pastor, you simply do what the senior pastor tells you to do, right? Would a senior pastor tell you to steal? There is no such pastor. While listening well to the pastor, you make your part like this (300%). You receive tremendous grace. You truly receive blessings. You must start anew. So you must always acknowledge: the reason you are being preserved now is that you, one person, can save the world. It cannot be done with our ability. Then can it be done with Rome’s great ability? Even less. Can it be done with people who have extremely high spiritual status? Even less. Therefore, only those who hold to this covenant—this is what Jesus said.
Today’s message is extremely important. I will apply it until you understand it a little. I will pray.

Prayer. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings, and the great love of God, and the working of the Holy Spirit who is at work now, be with the evangelism disciples who will save the world, from now and forever. Amen.
