Call to Worship
“God is spirit, and
..His worshipers must worship
..In the Spirit and in truth.” — John 4:24

Hymn
Perfect You Are My God
Rose Park

Perfect You are my God
Righteous and Holy
In all of Your ways
Revealing Your glory
In all that You do
All men will worship You

I will worship You
I will praise Your name
For You are the only Lord and King
I will worship You
I will praise Your name
My desire is to honor You Lord

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
…Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
…Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
…Born of the Virgin Mary,
…Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
…Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
…And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Come, Thou Almighty King
Anonymous

Come, Thou Almighty King,
Help us Thy name to sing,
Help us to praise.
Father, all glorious,
O’er all victorious,
Come, and reign over us,
Ancient of Days.

Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword,
Our prayer attend:
Come, and Thy people bless,
And give Thy word success;
Spirit of holiness,
On us descend.

Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear
In this glad hour:
Thou who Almighty art,
Now rule in every heart,
And ne’er from us depart,
Spirit of power.

To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be
Hence evermore.
Thy sov’reign majesty
May we in glory see,
And to eternity
Love and adore.

Responsive Reading
Psalm 28

Leader: To you, Lord, I call;
you are my Rock,
do not turn a deaf ear to me.
People:  For if you remain silent,
I will be like those who go down to the pit.

Leader: Hear my cry for mercy
as I call to you for help,
People:  as I lift up my hands
toward your Most Holy Place.

Leader: Do not drag me away with the wicked,
with those who do evil,
People:  who speak cordially with their neighbors
but harbor malice in their hearts.

Leader: Repay them for their deeds
and for their evil work;
People:  repay them for what their hands have done
and bring back on them what they deserve.

Leader: Because they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord
and what his hands have done,
People:  he will tear them down
and never build them up again.

Leader: Praise be to the Lord,
for he has heard my cry for mercy.
People:  The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

Leader: My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
People:  The Lord is the strength of his people,
a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

Hymn
Let Us Sing of His Love Once Again
Francis Bottome

Let us sing of his love once again,
Of the love that can never decay,
Of the blood of the Lamb who was slain,
Till we praise him again in that day.

I believe Jesus saves,
And his blood makes me whiter than snow.
I believe Jesus saves,
And his blood makes me whiter than snow.

There is cleansing and healing for all
Who will wash in the Life-giving flood;
There is perfect deliverance and joy
To be had in this world through the blood.

Then we’ll march in his name, till we come
At his bidding to cease from the fight;
And our Saviour shall welcome us home
To the mansions of glory and light.

So with banners unfurled to the breeze,
Our motto shall holiness be,
Till the crown from his hand we shall seize,
And the King in his glory we see.

Scripture Reading
Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Message
The Bartizan Established in the Wilderness
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su

▣ Introduction: The resolution of holding onto the covenant
1. While worshiping, hold on to the covenant and make a decision.
…1) Multi-ethnic – We will make our country a missionary nation.
…2) We will revive our family line and use it as a stepping stone.
…3) I will entrust it to God’s hands and experience God’s power. I will become a witness.
2. People of the Bible who turned hardship into blessing
What is harder is not believing God’s covenant.
…1) Abraham – He yielded everything to Lot and began to build an altar before God.
…2) Jacob – The time of kneeling at the Jabbok River was a time that changed the destiny of Israel and the world (Israel).
…3) Moses – God appeared to Moses. After Moses’ decision, God worked through Moses’ staff.
3. Build the Lord’s bartizan. That is the answer.

▣ Main: Build the bartizan of the Lord.
1. Build the rightful bartizan.
…When a crisis absolutely comes, there is no other way.
…1) Jochebed (Exodus 2) – World evangelization (entering Canaan) and saving my son are God’s will. I will firmly plant the covenant in my son and send him to the palace.
…2) Moses – “Go offer the blood sacrifice. Go to the elders, the people, and Pharaoh the king.” When Moses made his decision, God performed miracles through the staff in Moses’ hand.
…3) Special bartizan – When they stirred up an uproar in the wilderness, a special bartizan was built at Mount Horeb. At this time God gave the eternal word.
…▷ Do not use humanism; build the Lord’s precise bartizan.

2. Pass on the inevitable bartizan to the next generation.
Build the bartizan before you meet problems.
…1) Joshua – “As I was with Moses, I will be with you.” Joshua, who held on to this covenant, crossed the Jordan and brought down Jericho.
…2) Caleb – Whenever difficulty arose, he appeared holding on to the covenant (the spies’ report, before the mountain of the Anakites).
…▷ The moment you build the bartizan, the answer begins. From the day the answer of Christ comes, you see the Word living and moving, and it is passed on to the next generation.

3. Build the absolute bartizan for the next generation.
…1) “Our God is the only Lord.”
…2) “Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and strength.” Engrave the Lord’s word on your heart. Pass it on to your children.
…3) Build for the next generation a bartizan that imprints what is real.
…▷ When you hold on to the real covenant, God fulfills it. Today, when you hold on to the covenant, is the day of the answer.

▣ Conclusion: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
1. The bartizan of the Lord built in the wilderness – You, the 0.1% who have realized the gospel, can save the world.
2. 24, 25, eternity – Do 24. The key is the field. The answer you will receive is 25. Leaving a guidepost is eternity.
3. If you hold on to the covenant today, the answer will come.

Tithes & Offering

Hymn
Jesus Is My Way, Truth, and Life

Jesus is my way,
And He is my truth,
Jesus is the life in me
Since I met the Lord,
Asked Him in my heart
My life’s never been the same

When I am in Him,
And He is in me
He will answer all my prayers
What I have is something
That the world can’t offer
What I have in Jesus is true peace

In this life, I live for Jesus Christ
With His covenant rooted in my heart
When the Lord gives me His power
He will use my life to share
His gospel to the world.

Prayer

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
…hallowed be thy name;
…thy kingdom come;
…thy will be done;
…on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
…as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
…but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
…the power and the glory,
…forever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus

Benediction
