Hymn
Hark! Ten Thousand Harps and Voices
Thomas Kelly

Hark! ten thousand harps and voices
Sound the note of praise above;
Jesus reigns and heaven rejoices,
Jesus reigns, the God of love:
See, He sits on yonder throne;
Jesus rules the world alone,
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen.

King of Glory, reign for ever,
Thine an everlasting crown;
Nothing from Thy love shall sever
Those whom Thou hast made Thine own:
Happy objects of Thy grace,
Destined to behold Thy face.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen.

Saviour, hasten Thine appearing;
Bring, O bring the glorious day,
When, the awful summons hearing,
Heaven and earth shall pass away;
Then, with golden harps we’ll sing,
“Glory, glory to our King!”
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Amen.

Psalm 31

Leader: In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.
People:  Turn your ear to me,
come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge,
a strong fortress to save me.

Leader: Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
People:  Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
for you are my refuge.

Leader: Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.
People:  I hate those who cling to worthless idols;
as for me, I trust in the Lord.

Leader: I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction
and knew the anguish of my soul.
People:  You have not given me into the hands of the enemy
but have set my feet in a spacious place.

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
…Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
…Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
…Born of the Virgin Mary,
…Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
…Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
…And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
O Thou, in Whose Presence
Joseph Swain

O Thou, in whose presence my soul takes delight,
on whom in affliction I call;
my comfort by day, and my song in the night,
my hope, my salvation, my all.

Where dost Thou, dear Shepherd, resort with Thy sheep,
to feed them in pastures of love?
Say, why in the valley of death should I weep,
or alone in this wilderness rove?

O why should I wander an alien from Thee,
or cry in the desert for bread?
Thy foes will rejoice, when my sorrows they see,
and smile at the tears I have shed.

He looks, and ten thousands of angels rejoice,
and myriads wait for His word;
He speaks and eternity, filled with His voice,
re-echoes the praise of the Lord.

Dear Shepherd! I hear, and will follow Thy call;
I know the sweet sound of Thy voice;
restore and defend me, for Thou art my All,
And in Thee I will ever rejoice.

Scripture Reading
1 Samuel 7:1-15

So the men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the Lord. They brought it to Abinadab’s house on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the Lord. 2 The ark remained at Kiriath Jearim a long time—twenty years in all.

Then all the people of Israel turned back to the Lord. 3 So Samuel said to all the Israelites, “If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.” 4 So the Israelites put away their Baals and Ashtoreths, and served the Lord only.

5 Then Samuel said, “Assemble all Israel at Mizpah, and I will intercede with the Lord for you.” 6 When they had assembled at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the Lord. On that day they fasted and there they confessed, “We have sinned against the Lord.” Now Samuel was serving as leader[a] of Israel at Mizpah.

7 When the Philistines heard that Israel had assembled at Mizpah, the rulers of the Philistines came up to attack them. When the Israelites heard of it, they were afraid because of the Philistines. 8 They said to Samuel, “Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines.” 9 Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. He cried out to the Lord on Israel’s behalf, and the Lord answered him.

10 While Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to engage Israel in battle. But that day the Lord thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites. 11 The men of Israel rushed out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, slaughtering them along the way to a point below Beth Kar.

12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

13 So the Philistines were subdued and they stopped invading Israel’s territory. Throughout Samuel’s lifetime, the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines. 14 The towns from Ekron to Gath that the Philistines had captured from Israel were restored to Israel, and Israel delivered the neighboring territory from the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

Message
The Mizpah Movement and the Global Bartizan
Pastor Kwang-Su Ryu

▣ Introduction
1. Hold on to a spiritual, covenantal consuming passion.
…1) If you harbor a fleshly consuming passion, spiritual problems will come.
…2) When Hannah prayed holding on to the covenantal consuming passion of a Nazirite, she received Samuel.
…3) Hold on to the covenantal consuming passion in the midst of the reality of facing hardships.

2. Before you pray, change the thoughts you have.
…1) In small moments, we become trapped in what we call “self.”
…2) The characteristic of the 7 Remnants was that they were not trapped in what we call “self.”
…3) Even if you pray and worship, if you are trapped in your own thoughts, nothing will work.

▣ Main_ Gather at Mizpah.
1. Abandon all excuses and return to the Lord.
…1) Abandoning all excuses is the beginning of the world bartizan.
…2) Being told to abandon all unbelief and excuses means the root cause has been touched.
– Other things are not the problem; the forces of darkness are the problem.
…3) When you encounter a problem, think of 3 things.
……(1) Naturally – The problem that has come now is something that naturally had to come.
……(2) Necessarily – That problem coming to me is a necessity.
……(3) Absolutely – Within it is God’s absolute plan.

2. Abandon all idols and return to the Lord.
…1) Abandoning all idols is the beginning of world healing.
…2) Idol worship is the beginning of spiritual problems.
– Idols made by human hands all turn into spiritual problems.
…3) Abandon all idols, return to the Lord, receive the invisible fundamental healing, and solve spiritual problems.
…▷ The answer that comes at this time is “only.” Since He said to return only to the Lord, the answer of “only” comes. At that time, only, uniqueness, and re-creation come forth.

3. Save all the people with the blood covenant.
…1) Knowing that the people of Israel had gathered at Mizpah, the Philistines brought their army and attacked.
…2) At this time, Samuel offered a burnt offering to the Lord at Mizpah (restoration of the gospel).
…3) When he offered a burnt offering to the Lord, thunder came down from heaven.
▷ God gathered Israel at Mizpah and restored the gospel. Hold on to God’s work of restoring everything through the blood covenant as a covenant.

▣ Conclusion
1. Restore worship. – The words “gather at Mizpah” mean “restore worship.”
…1) On the Lord’s Day when you worship, confirm the 5 paths and have the 5 forums.
…2) When you are alone and lonely, when there is no one to help you, when you are shaken, restore worship.
…3) If you restore prayer, all the answers will come forth during worship.

2. Restore the prayer that I pray.
– If I can pray, I can do everything.

3. Set up a memorial stone of Ebenezer (God has helped us and been with us until now) for future generations to see.

Tithes & Offering

Hymn
Brightly Beams Our Father’s Mercy
P. P. Bliss

Brightly beams our Father’s mercy
From His lighthouse evermore;
But to us He gives the keeping
Of the lights along the shore.

Let the lower lights be burning!
Send a gleam across the wave!
Some poor fainting, struggling seaman
You may rescue, you may save.

Dark the night of sin has settled,
Loud the angry billows roar;
Eager eyes are watching, longing,
For the lights along the shore.  Refrain

Trim your feeble lamp, my brother!
Some poor seaman, tempest-tossed,
Trying now to make the harbor,
In the darkness may be lost.  Refrain

Hymn
O Lord, In My Life
Kwang-Su Ryu · Ji Hye Yang

O Lord, in my life I pray to enjoy Immanuel each day
All my thoughts and the smallest things I do,
May every part of me belong to You

For all my life may I be found
On the road of your disciples, Lord
With my past and my present day,
My future, all my life, Lord have Your way

Far above myself, the grace of God is higher
Above the answers, it is the Lord’s desire
And, past all my work, it is the plan of God
Beyond the blessings, it is Your Covenant

The love of God, transcending the love of man
Lord, help me to see; Lord, open my eyes
Embracing the Remnant Age in my heart,
May I stand before, before You, Lord!

Benediction
