God is spirit, and
..His worshipers must worship
..In the Spirit and in truth.” — John 4:24

Hymn
Perfect You Are My God
Rose Park

Perfect You are my God
Righteous and Holy
In all of Your ways
Revealing Your glory
In all that You do
All men will worship You

I will worship You
I will praise Your name
For You are the only Lord and King
I will worship You
I will praise Your name
My desire is to honor You Lord

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
How Great Thou Art
Carl Boberg

Oh Lord, my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

Responsive Reading
Isaiah 42

Leader: Here is my servant, whom I uphold,
my chosen one in whom I delight;
People: I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will bring justice to the nations.

Leader: He will not shout or cry out,
or raise his voice in the streets.
People: A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.

Leader: In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;
he will not falter or be discouraged
People: till he establishes justice on earth.
In his teaching the islands will put their hope.

Leader: I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
People: I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the Gentiles,

Leader: to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison
People: and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.

Hymn
Take the Name of Jesus with You
Lydia Baxter

Take the name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe;
It will joy and comfort give you;
Take it then where’er you go.

Precious name, oh how sweet!
Hope of Earth and joy of Heav’n.
Precious name, oh how sweet!
Hope of Earth and joy of Heav’n.

Take the name of Jesus ever,
As a shield from ev’ry snare;
If temptations round you gather,
Breathe that holy name in prayer.   Refrain

Oh! the precious name of Jesus,
How it thrills our souls with joy,
When his loving arms receive us,
And his songs our tongues employ.  Refrain

At the name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at his feet,
King of kings in Heav’n we’ll crown him,
When our journey is complete.  Refrain

Scripture Reading
Genesis 3:1-15
Carmetta Williams

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock
    and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
    and you will eat dust
    all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
    and you will strike his heel.”

▣ Introduction
1. Israel received the gospel, but could not enjoy the gospel and therefore could not live the life of the gospel
1) God who confirmed the gospel when they went into slavery – blood sacrifice (Exodus 3:18)
2) God who caused the Mizpah Movement of offering the blood sacrifice through Samuel when their descendants suffered at the hands of the Philistines (1 Samuel 7:9-10)
3) When they went into captivity, “A virgin will conceive and bear a son, and you shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14)
4) When they became a colony under Rome, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)

2. Jesus did things that are hard to understand at all – see which ones are the gospel.
1) Jesus who ate with a tax collector who was a gangster, but longed for the Word and tried to hear the Word
2) Jesus who healed a leper and ate with him
3) Jesus who forgave an adulterous woman – the gospel is to make one realize, save, and stand as a witness.
※ Which does your thoughts and life resemble more, the Pharisees or Jesus?

3. Israel’s descendants who lost the nation for 2,000 years – if you lose the line of the gospel, disaster comes upon descendants. Therefore, we stake our lives on the remnant movement.

▣ Main: You must have a conversation with your children on:
1. Genesis 3:15 The seed of the woman, Christ – the solution to original sin
1) Because they cannot discern the gospel, they cling to small success, and gospel-less elites become frightening beings.
2) They lose the gospel because of legalism. The law is to make me realize.
3) They fall into mysticism. If you do mysticism without the gospel, you become demon-possessed.
4) Of course you must succeed, but you must teach that you are not a slave of the world.
5) If you do not know the seed of the woman, original sin is not solved and you serve Satan as a slave. The problem is having no interest in this.

2. Exodus 3:18 Destiny must change. Coming out of Egypt is not important. You must come out of that incident of being caught by Satan.

3. Isaiah 7:14 With the gospel, you must be equipped with the power of recreation. You must become witnesses and set your resolve.

4. Matthew 1:19-23 Immanuel
1) The incarnate Christ – light came clothed in a human body (John 1:1-14).
2) “To those who received Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)
3) “Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

5. Matthew 16:16 The gospel of Christ – “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
1) “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”
2) “I will build My church upon you.”
3) “The authority of Hades will not overcome it.”
▷ We must give our descendants an answer that can win wherever they go in the world.

▣ Conclusion
1. The greatest blessing, the greatest answer – world evangelization and saving the next generation.
2. You must have the best time in the morning, a truly blessed time in the daytime (meeting), and the time to create the final masterpiece at night.
3. One person’s prayer – those who know prayer do not need to worry.

Hymn
Standing on the Promises
Russell Kelso Carter

Standing on the promises of Christ, my King!
Through eternal ages let His praises ring.
“Glory in the highest!” I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail!
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

Standing on the promises of Christ, the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s Sword,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning ev’ry moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

Prayer · Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus

Benediction
