Call to Worship

Hymn
I Will Worship You
Seok Jin Oh · Ha Young Yoo

In the Spirit Lord, I will worship You.
And in truth alone I will worship You.
With the gospel of life, I will worship You.
For You are worthy of all glory, Lord.

Father, Son, and Spirit, I will worship You.
With the covenant, I will worship You.
With the blessing of the throne, I will worship You.
Lord, let your power be revealed through my life.

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Fanny Crosby

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O earth– His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! Hail Him! highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children;
In His arms, He carries them all day long.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness.
Praise Him! Praise Him ever in joyful song!

Praise Him, praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died.
He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation—
Hail Him! Hail Him! Jesus, the Crucified!
Sound His praises! Jesus, who bore our sorrows!
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep, and strong.   Refrain

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever.
Crown Him! Crown Him! Prophet, and Priest, and King!
Christ is coming, over the world victorious;
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong!   Refrain

Responsive Reading
Psalm 130

Leader: Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
People: Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.

Leader: If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
People: Lord, who could stand?

Leader: But with you there is forgiveness,
People: so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

Leader: I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
People: and in his word I put my hope.

Leader: I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
People: more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Leader: Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
People: for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.

Together: He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.

Hymn
Take the Name of Jesus with You
Lydia Baxter

Take the name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe;
It will joy and comfort give you;
Take it then where’er you go.

Precious name, oh how sweet!
Hope of Earth and joy of Heav’n.
Precious name, oh how sweet!
Hope of Earth and joy of Heav’n.

Take the name of Jesus ever,
As a shield from ev’ry snare;
If temptations round you gather,
Breathe that holy name in prayer.   Refrain

Oh! the precious name of Jesus,
How it thrills our souls with joy,
When his loving arms receive us,
And his songs our tongues employ.  Refrain

At the name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at his feet,
King of kings in Heav’n we’ll crown him,
When our journey is complete.  Refrain

Scripture Reading
Acts 2:1-13
Pastor Samuel

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” 12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”

Give Thanks
Henry Smith · Worship Team

Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks to the Holy one,
Give thanks because He’s given,
Jesus Christ His Son.

And now,
Let the weak say I am strong.
Let the poor say I am rich.
Because of what,
The Lord has done for us.
Give thanks.

Message
Believers Who Do Not Need Anything Else
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su
Full Transcript

▣ Introduction
1. People who need something else and people who do not need anything else
1) King Saul who tried to keep his throne and David who said, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
2) When you do not need anything else, darkness is bound to be broken.
3) The reason people hold onto something else – because they do not know what happens when they pray, and when and how to hold to the covenant.
4) What you see is more important than what you do.

2. The history of those who needed something else
1) Abraham and Lot – they did not catch the word to follow the Word for world evangelization, so they held onto something else.
2) Joseph’s brothers – they only knew about food, clothing, and shelter.
3) King Saul – he needed the throne, not God.
4) King Ahab – because he did not know God’s grace and power, he needed something else.
5) The Jews – they did not know original sin, Satan, grace, faith, and spiritual problems.

▷ The 7 remnants – because they knew the true thing, they did not need anything else. When you see God’s true answer and power, your own will and stubbornness are not needed.

3. The true thing
1) Do the stump movement, the root movement, the life movement, and the remnant movement.
2) Acts 1:1–8
(1) Christ has completed everything.
(2) He resurrected, proved that He is the Christ, and explained the kingdom of God for 40 days.
(3) “When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power and be My witnesses to the ends of the earth, so do not leave Jerusalem and wait.”

▣ Main – Only: other things will not work
When you believe, spiritual works take place. The heavenly army is mobilized. Darkness is broken (Genesis 15:6).

1. Fundamental healing – the three feasts (Acts 2:1)
1) Healing of destiny – Passover (Acts 1:1)
We cannot overcome Satan. We cannot become children of God. We cannot create salvation. We cannot remove disasters. We cannot overcome the background of hell. God promised to send Christ to remove all this. Faith is believing this fact.
2) Healing of spiritual state – Pentecost (Acts 2:1)
3) Healing of life – Ingathering feast

2. Fundamental power – the power of the Word
1) Acts 2:17–18 – “Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”
2) Acts 2:42 – “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching” (following the flow of the Word), “to fellowship” (knowing who is next to you), “to the breaking of bread” (enjoying the power of the gospel), “and to prayer.”
3) Acts 2:46–47 – “Every day in the temple courts and every day in homes,” the Word began to be fulfilled.

3. Fundamental mission – saving lives
1) Acts 2:9–11 – Fifteen nations of many peoples gathered.
2) Acts 2:41 – Three thousand disciples arose.
3) Acts 2:43–45 – The threefold economy was restored.

▣ Conclusion – What Jesus gave: everything must come out from within this
1. A new me – 7 bartizans
2. A new way – 7 journeys
3. A new answer – 7 guideposts
▷ During worship and prayer, make confessions of faith.

Hymn
As the Deer Panteth for the Water
Martin Nystrom

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship Thee

You alone are my Strength, my Shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship Thee.

You’re my Friend and You are my Brother
Even though You are a King
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything    Chorus

I want You more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy-giver
And the apple of my eye     Chorus

Prayer · Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus

Benediction
