2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
The gospel is life itself—not merely physical life, but spiritual life that comes from God, the Creator of all life. To receive this life is to bid an eternal farewell to Satan, who holds the power of death (Hebrews 2:14). The gospel is also light and the power of God, the very power that created the world (Genesis 1:3, John 1:9). This power is able to save (1 Corinthians 1:18) and is the answer to everything (Ephesians 1:19-20).
Many continue to struggle with their problems because they do not know that Jesus Christ is this life, light, and power. This is the greatest mystery of all time. But when someone receives and believes in Jesus as the Christ, that person is eternally saved and cannot be destroyed. That is the effect of life, light, and power.
Even those in the Old Testament era were saved by believing in the shadow of Christ. Now, to all who receive Him and believe in His name, God gives the right to become His children (John 1:12). Scripture was written so we may know and believe that Jesus is the Christ (John 20:31). It reveals the way to meet God, the way to overcome Satan, and the path to salvation.
When someone discovers this way of salvation, the light of the gospel continues to shine upon them, and the power of life becomes evident. God’s blessings manifest clearly in their lives. When you truly experience Christ, every promise in Scripture becomes real for you. You will find that the Word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12).
Trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord allows the Holy Spirit to dwell in you forever (John 14:16). Without this experience of Christ living in you through the Holy Spirit, you’re left to rely on your own limited ways and thoughts, often resulting in unnecessary suffering. But as a child of God, you are His temple, and nothing can destroy you (1 Corinthians 3:16).
You have been promised the complete guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26-27), and you will find victory in all circumstances. The only response is to live a life led by the Spirit. All things become possible when you are guided by Him. When you call on God the Father in Jesus’ name, the Holy Spirit works powerfully in and through you.
By taking the Word into your heart and praying, Satan—the strong man—is bound (Matthew 12:29). This is possible because Christ, who has all authority in heaven and on earth, is with you. When you carry the Word into your mission field, Satan will submit to you (Romans 16:20), and you will come to see just how blessed evangelism truly is.
God also sends His angel armies to carry out His plans where His people pray (Psalm 103:20-22, Revelation 8:3-5). This was seen with Moses and the Israelites: “Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them” (Exodus 14:19). This is a crucial spiritual reality to remember in prayer.
Because you belong to heaven (Philippians 3:20), you no longer need to fear the things of this world. You’ve been entrusted with the keys to the kingdom of heaven, with full protection and access to its resources. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matthew 16:19). Your prayers have the power to move the throne of God.
Now that the Holy Spirit lives in you, you have the privilege to overcome the world and save those under the power of the devil. These are the blessings that come with life, light, and power. The old is gone, and the new has come. Experience this new life in Christ—and proclaim it to the world.
Prayer. Father, thank You for the eternal blessing of life, light, and power through Your Son, Jesus Christ. By Your grace and mercy, I have been made a new creation. Use my life to let Your glory be known to all nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
