Mark 3:13-15. Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive out demons.
As Jesus once called His disciples by name, He has also called you because He wanted you. This call was not initiated by your effort or merit. Jesus clearly said, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last” (John 15:16). Before you did anything for Him, He chose you simply to be with Him.
But how is Jesus with you today? He is with you by confirming His Word in your life—showing you that His promises never fail. He is with you by carrying out the work of the Christ, destroying the power of Satan, sin, and hell. He is with you through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, who helps you live as a witness of Christ to the ends of the earth.
Through Christ, the presence of the Triune God has become a reality in you. The kingdom of God has come upon you. The heavenly throne is now your spiritual background. When you truly believe in this spiritual reality, you begin to enjoy every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. You no longer live as one who is weak, lost, or insignificant, but as one called by God, filled with power, purpose, and heavenly authority.
When you are with Jesus, He transforms your life. Just like Peter and John, who were considered unschooled and ordinary men, God will use you in extraordinary ways. Scripture records, “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13). What made them stand out was not their education or background but the undeniable evidence that they had been with Jesus.
When you are with Jesus, your eyes will open to the spiritual reality around you. You will see that the real battle is not against flesh and blood but against the forces of darkness that deceive the world. You will understand that only the gospel can break these powers and bring true healing and restoration. God has called you to be sent out to preach this gospel. Evangelism is simply testifying how Jesus has been with you and how His presence changed your life.
Many believers today misunderstand evangelism. Some think it is only for trained pastors, missionaries, or those with a special calling. But evangelism is not a performance or a skill. It is a natural result of receiving eternal life. If the blood of Christ has truly saved you, then sharing the gospel is simply introducing Jesus to others still living under the power of sin and Satan. This is why evangelism is one of the greatest blessings God has given to us.
Satan knows the power of evangelism, and he fears it. That is why he works hard to discourage and distract believers from sharing the gospel. But the early church, even under severe persecution, did not back down. They did not pray for an easier life but for boldness to continue proclaiming the message of Christ. Acts 4:31 tells us, “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”
It is important to discover and enjoy the form of evangelism that fits your daily life. Begin by asking God to open a door for your gospel message so that you may proclaim the mystery of Christ with clarity and power (Colossians 4:2). See every person and every meeting as a divine appointment. Be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15), and do so with gentleness and respect. Follow the Holy Spirit’s leading and speak at the right time.
Jesus gave you authority over evil spirits because the whole world is under the influence of the evil one (1 John 5:19). In Jesus’ name, you can drive out demons who have taken hold of people’s minds and hearts. The name of Jesus is more powerful than any force of darkness. As Philippians 2:10 declares, “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” His name has the power to bring all things under His control (Philippians 3:21).
You have received the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). God will protect you and deliver you from harm. He desires to use you to bring healing to those suffering from physical and spiritual affliction. He will give you the wisdom to proclaim the gospel across all nations, cultures, and languages. His angel armies will go before you and surround you.
Jesus is calling you to follow Him with urgency. When you say yes to His call, you will influence the world through the power of the gospel. Nothing is more urgent than helping someone come to know Christ. Nothing is more important than praying for disciples who will carry this message to the ends of the earth. Nothing is more fulfilling than taking part in the Great Commission in our generation.
God will bring healing and restoration to this world through your life. He will be with you wherever you go, working through you and confirming His Word with signs and power (Mark 16:20). As you proclaim the gospel, the message of the Lord will spread rapidly and be honored (2 Thessalonians 3:1).
Prayer. Father, throughout this day, I desire to live a single-minded life for Christ and a wholehearted life for the gospel. Help me to continue walking in faith as an evangelist in every place You send me. Help me enjoy Your presence in all circumstances. In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce all evil spirits completely. I exercise the authority given to me by Your Word and command all darkness in my mission field to flee. I pray this in the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
