Jesus, Your True Prophet

Hebrews 10:19-20. Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body.

Since the beginning of time, God has been asking mankind, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9). Deceived by the devil, mankind rejected God’s covenant, went astray, and turned to their own ways (Isaiah 53:6).

Human beings, whom God created a little lower than Himself and crowned with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5), have fallen into a state of eternal separation from Him. They are subject to the power of sin, oppressed by all kinds of curses, and living like spiritual orphans in the background of hell.

People find themselves hiding from the presence of the loving God (Genesis 3:8). Fear and insecurity have become a permanent part of their lives (Genesis 3:10). They are forced to live with the identity of children of the devil (John 8:44), worshiping idols all their lives (Exodus 20:4–5).

As a result, people suffer in every way: spiritually (Ephesians 2:1), mentally (Matthew 11:28–30), and physically (Acts 8:4–8). They are under eternal condemnation (Luke 16:19–31), and their children are left to inherit generational curses (Matthew 27:25). To somehow return to God, they turn to religion (Matthew 12:43–45), philosophy (Colossians 2:8), moral living (Isaiah 64:6), legalism (Romans 3:20), and different gospels (Matthew 16:13–14).

They try to cover their weaknesses with pride, worldly possessions, and outward success. They try to satisfy their thirst with the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes (1 John 2:16), but these are like clothes made from fig leaves (Genesis 3:7)—they do not last. Instead, they bring more misery, shame, guilt, and pain.

People exchange God’s eternal blessings for temporary things of this world. With their minds blinded by the god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4), they cannot hear God’s voice calling them to return.

People continue to think and judge according to their own standards. Adam and Eve, obsessed with their nakedness, failed to realize that God wasn’t seeking to punish them, but to save them. This is the difference between religion and the gospel.

Scripture testifies that when Jesus died on the cross, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). By His death, Jesus opened a new and living way into the Most Holy Place—the very presence of the Triune God. He finished the work of the True Prophet.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He became the mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5), reconciling us to God (Romans 5:12).

This is why Christianity is not a religion, but the gospel: that Jesus is the Christ, the True Prophet. We must return again and again to the true gospel. God sent the “offspring of the woman” (Genesis 3:15), Jesus Christ, to rescue us from the power of sin, curses, and Satan.

Do not fall into the trap of religion that leads to death. Instead, hold firmly to the message of the cross that leads to life. God is not asking you, “What have you done?” He has always been asking, “Where are you?” He has finished the path for you to return to Him. God has given you confidence to enter His presence.

When you realize, believe, and confirm that Jesus is the Christ, the True Prophet, you will know that you have peace with God (Romans 5:1), and you no longer need to live in fear. When you believe that Jesus is your True Prophet who lives in you, you will know that you have crossed over from death to life (John 5:24) and that your place in Christ is secure (Ephesians 2:6).

When you believe that the work of your True Prophet is finished on the cross—opening a new and living way to God—you will stop trying to earn your way through religion. Instead, enjoy and share the Good News that Jesus is the Christ, your True Prophet.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, my True Prophet. You opened a new and living way to God by Your own blood on the cross and have given me the confidence to enter the throne of God. So now I declare that I have eternal life and will not be judged, but have crossed over from death to life. I declare that my Father is greater than all, and no one can snatch me out of His hand. I won’t be lost again. I declare that because my True Prophet lives in me now, I will not fear. I declare that nothing can separate me from the love of God in You. In Your mighty name, Amen.
