John 14:26-27. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Our greatest privilege in Jesus is the guidance of the Holy Spirit, whom God gave to us when we believed that Jesus is the Christ. God poured His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who now lives in us. The Spirit of God, who knows every part of us, is more than able to lead our lives—even through paths we’ve never walked before.
Because of this, we do not have to be anxious or fearful. The Holy Spirit leads us by reminding us of the Word of God. So let the Word of God be deeply rooted in your soul, mind, and heart, shaping how you think and live. Then you will be able to know God’s will for your life—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
When you feel lost or unsure of what to do, you are not alone. Scripture says the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. There are times when we do not even know what to pray for. But the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father, who knows every heart, understands what the Spirit is saying. The Spirit pleads on behalf of believers in perfect alignment with God’s will.
Knowing how deeply the Holy Spirit cares for you, don’t lose the peace you have in Christ. Even when you pass through the valley of the shadow of death, the Spirit will restore your strength and lead you down the right path. When you pass through deep waters, the currents will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. The flames will not consume you. The presence of God through the Holy Spirit secures your life, and nothing in this world can change that. The Spirit will teach you what to do and even what to say when the time comes.
Set your heart on what matters most to God—His kingdom and His righteousness. When that becomes your focus, the Holy Spirit will lead you to those God has prepared long ago to hear the gospel. You will become part of God’s mission to proclaim Christ to the nations.
That is how God led Philip. The Spirit told him to go near a certain chariot. On that chariot sat an Ethiopian eunuch who was seeking the truth. Through Philip, God revealed the mystery of Christ, and that encounter became the beginning of the gospel entering Africa.
That is how God led the church at Antioch. While the believers were worshiping and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke clearly: “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work I have called them to do.” And from there, the first missionary team to the Gentiles was sent out.
That is how God led Paul. He and his companions were traveling through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, but the Holy Spirit prevented them from entering Asia. When they tried to go into Bithynia, the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. Instead, God opened the door to Macedonia. This moment marked the beginning of the gospel’s entrance into Europe.
These were ordinary people led by the extraordinary guidance of the Holy Spirit. They became Christ’s ambassadors to the world. The Holy Spirit will do the same in your life. So do not silence His voice when He leads you toward someone in need or sends you to a place where Christ is not yet known.
Do not grieve the Spirit by clinging to the temporary things of this world. Set your heart on things above. Invest your time, your gifts, and your life in what is eternal. Remember always that you are a child of God, and you are being led by the Spirit of God. There is no greater privilege.
Prayer. Father, thank You for guiding my life through Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for the peace and rest that the world cannot give. I want to follow Your Spirit every day of my life. Take me wherever You want me to go, and lead me to whomever You want me to meet. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
