John 14:6. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Why does everyone need salvation? Isn’t religion enough? Doesn’t philosophy provide a way of life? How about upright living? Doesn’t success guarantee happiness? Wouldn’t modern science and technology be able to solve all our problems? And yet, everyone wonders why unhappiness never ends.
Scripture states that, since the beginning of time, everyone has been facing three unsolvable problems: Satan, sin, and separation.
Why is Satan invincible to mankind? Because he holds the power of death (Heb 2:14). Using this power, he has been leading the whole world astray (Rev 12:9). Using powers and authorities, the economy, and the culture of this dark world, the devil has been controlling everyone’s life, bringing disasters and calamities.
There is nothing on earth that is powerful enough to defeat the devil. That’s why the power had to come from above. Only God could provide a solution to what Satan had done. He sent someone with the position of the True King who had power over Satan.
As God had promised, the “offspring of the woman” came to crush the head of the ancient serpent (Gen 3:15). The Son of God came to destroy the devil’s work (1 Jn 3:8). By dying on the cross and rising from the dead, Jesus the True King broke the power of the enemy once for all.
Since humanity deserted the Word of life and followed the deception of the devil, everyone has been living under the power of sin or original sin (Rom 3:23). Everyone has fallen into a position completely cut off from the glory of God. This led to the sins of the father (Ex 20:4-5) and the actual sins we all commit throughout our lives (Eph 2:1).
It’s not an act of sin that makes one a sinner, but one commits sins because one was born into and living in the fundamental state of sin. Repenting one’s actual sins wouldn’t be enough. One cannot repent of original sin and the sins of the father one did not commit. All human efforts not to commit sins are not enough since no one can defeat the power of sin.
We needed someone’s blood because there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood (Heb 9:22). God sent someone with the position of the True Priest who was willing to give His life as a ransom for many (Mk 10:45). Jesus, the True Priest, entered “the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption” (Heb 9:12). By his death on the cross, he set us free from the law of sin and death (Rom 8:2).
Because of Satan and sin, everyone has been completely separated from God (Gen 3:1-6), living under the curses of hell (Gen 3:16-20). In that background of hell, everyone has been living the way the world lives, following the ruler of the evil powers, trying to please their sinful selves, and doing all the things their bodies and minds wanted. As a result, everyone deserved to suffer God’s anger just because of the way we were (Eph 2:2-3).
Everyone has been on the path leading to death. Everyone has lost the way and does not even know it, unable to find the road that leads to life (Prov 5:5-6). Compelled by His love for the lost, God sent someone with the position of the True Prophet, who opened a new and living way back to Him (Heb 10:20). The Son of God became man to be with us (Mt 1:18-23). Jesus, the True Prophet, declared, “I am the way,” the only way to return to the Father.
God anointed Jesus as the True King, the True Priest, and the True Prophet to save us from the power of Satan and sin and bring us back to Him from the background of hell. Jesus completed the work of the Anointed One, Christ, on the cross, where He declared, “It is finished” (Jn 19:30). God’s plan for our salvation has been completed through His Son.
If you receive and believe Jesus as the Christ, God will give you the right to become children of God (Jn 1:12). If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved (Rom 10:9). When you hear the voice of Jesus and open the door, He will come in and live with you forever (Rev 3:20).
Do not wait. Receive Jesus as the Christ into your heart through prayer right now:
Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God—
The True King who destroyed the devil’s work;
The True Priest who broke the curses of sin;
The True Prophet, who opened the way back to God.
I believe that You died on the cross for my sin and rose again.
Now I hear Your voice and open the door of my heart and receive You as my Lord and Christ.
Govern my life and make me into the person You want me to be.
Thank You for making me Your child.
In Your mighty name, Amen.
Now that you have been saved through the blood of Jesus Christ, know that you have eternal life (1 Jn 5:11-13). The Holy Spirit lives in you (1 Cor 3:16). No one can touch you.
The Holy Spirit will lead your life (Jn 14:26-27). So do not worry about anything. He will give you strength to overcome the world (Ac 1:8). As a child of God, you may now pray to your Father in Jesus’ name:
Father, I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ as the answer to all my past, present, and future problems.
I believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God,
The true King, who destroyed the power of the devil.
The true Priest, who set me from all curses of sin.
The true Prophet, the only way to You.
I believe Jesus died on the cross to take away all my sin, rose again in three days from the dead, and now works through the Holy Spirit in my life.
Thank you for making me your child when I believed.
Thank you for answering my prayer when I pray in Jesus’ name.
Thank you for guiding my life through the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for leading my life to victory against the enemy.
Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I may live as a witness for Christ.
Help me experience the power of the gospel and enjoy the blessing of Your presence throughout the day. May all the forces of darkness and unbelief in my life be broken down in the powerful name of Jesus Christ! Amen.
