Jacob Who Remained Alone
(Genesis 32:24-32)
Summary
We must make good use of the church’s three-day weekend, and holding onto the flow of the word for the week, we must worship all day on the Lord’s Day. On the Lord’s Day, we must pray all day and find the answer while looking at the flow of the word. When a problem comes to me, I just need to wait, and when conflict arises, I must not try to change the other person but must change myself. Joseph changed himself so that he walked with God. And when a crisis comes, it’s finding the answer first at a fast speed. That’s why it says to do concentrated prayer.
The background of today’s Scripture is that Jacob was returning having become very wealthy, and he first sent not just a gift but almost all his wealth to his brother, but his brother came with an army of 400 to kill Jacob. At that time Jacob completely knelt before God. Having sent everyone away, it’s ‘Jacob who was left alone at the Jabbok River.’ We must have this kind of time during a crisis. No one can calculate God’s power. At this time, He gave him the name Israel, which can overcome the world. It was the end, but when he met a crisis, Jacob came to confirm the important timetable in which God was with him.
▣ Introduction_ God does two things through incidents.
1. It is bringing down Satan’s bartizan.
2. The Lord’s bartizan – Don’t be discouraged or impatient, but build the Lord’s bartizan. Because this is not visible to the eye, no one brings it to you, and no one takes it away.
3. Life bartizan – The Lord’s bartizan must become my life bartizan. Because God blesses us from the throne, it’s the bartizan of the throne. Only then do you go on the journey of the throne and leave a guidepost.

1. Crisis – anxiety
Jacob was anxious because this looked like a big crisis. Here you must absolutely not be discouraged or give up. Here there is surely an absolute plan that God carries out.
2. Angels → Hebrews 1:14
He was left alone by the riverside, and God sent the angel of the Lord whom he couldn’t even imagine. God sends helping angels when we pray. The angels of the Lord run God’s errands. So if you pray this prayer a lot, God sends angels and directs the work.
3. Peniel – God (Immanuel)
Peniel means he met the face of God. The greatest experience while we live is meeting God. The greatest answer is God being with us. The blessing of Immanuel has come upon our studies, work, and everything we do. When unbelievers look at us, the most important realization is, ah, God is with them. Looking at Joseph, Potiphar said God is with you. When Daniel was about to die, the king said the God who is always with you will rescue you.
▣ Conclusion
1. Enjoy the blessing of prayer in ordinary times. In the morning, you must restore the strength God gives without fail. If you study and work with that, a masterpiece is bound to come out.
2. During worship, you must confirm the five roads. You must hold forums on the five things of that flow. Then surely, whether a problem comes or an answer comes, it will come before us.
3. Concentration – It’s concentrating with this. What did Moses do?
1) To Mt Horeb. He concentrated.
2) Jabbok River – Jacob concentrated at the Jabbok River.

If I were not a minister but an elder, I would do this. Every now and then, I’d invite family members, also our close people, people like that, and hold a three-day weekend festival at church. How good is that? Pitch tents and hold a prayer meeting together. Eat something delicious together. And then attend right up to the Lord’s Day worship. For the children, that becomes a memory they will never forget. Those kinds of things have an invisible influence. I still remember going to relatives’ houses with my parents when I was young. That’s why you must make good use of the church’s three-day weekend.
And holding onto the flow of the word for the week, worship all day on the Lord’s Day. In a way, when the breakfast session meeting gathers, there should be no seats so it’s a problem. If you’re really going to receive prayer answers, now it’s lesson time, and everyone should be here at this time. I’m not saying everyone come. If too many come, it’s hard. But I mean individually it’s like that. On the Lord’s Day you must pray all day. And you must not just pray. So that you find the answer while looking at the flow of the word. The conviction must come, ‘Ah, this week I must go holding this covenant.’ That’s everything. “The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah a second time.” This is everything. The word coming, that is the answer. God makes the fulfillment happen. Now, this week’s lesson is what to do when a problem comes to me. When a problem comes, in a way you just need to wait, but what do you do when conflict arises? That’s also simple then. Answer – Egypt
So it’s finding the answer first at a fast speed. That’s why it says to do concentrated prayer. When some crisis comes to you, coming on the Lord’s Day, when you concentrate while worshiping all day, this (answer) comes out. He had already found the answer. The faster you find this, the better.
Now, seeing it that way, what you must do is, there are times when things don’t work out, right? That is the most important time. This time when things don’t work out is not a time to struggle desperately but a time to truly realize myself. But a crisis has no such timetable, it’s not something I make, a crisis has come. This is an opportunity. Not just an opportunity, not a vague opportunity, but an opportunity to obtain the answer.

First he sent gifts. And not just gifts but many, almost all his wealth he sent. Then the brother would think, since my younger brother did this for me, I’m so thankful, right? He did it with that thought in mind. Since it’s all in the past, let me forgive my brother, he’d do that, right? But what’s this? His brother is coming with an army of 400 to kill Jacob. Now, he’s really met a crisis. Now he can’t even go back, and it became this kind of situation.
At that time Jacob completely knelt before God.
「Jabbok River – Jacob who was left alone」
At the Jabbok River. It’s Jacob who sent everyone away and was left alone. It’s an important story. He sent everyone away and was left alone. You must have this kind of time during a crisis. No one can calculate God’s power. This is that famous Jabbok River, and it’s the answer God gave Jacob at that time. You know it, right?

2. Angels
Jacob was left alone. He was left alone by that river, and what happened? At that time God sent the angel of the Lord whom he couldn’t even imagine. It looks like he came and wrestled, but that is now the process, and ultimately God sends helping angels when you pray. Because this is invisible to most people’s eyes, they don’t know its value. Is your body important, or is your soul important? It’s okay if your body hurts a little somewhere. But if your soul goes wrong, that’s not okay, right? If the soul leaves, you die, I’m telling you. Only, you can’t take a picture of this soul, and it’s not visible. People don’t know it. This is important.
Hebrews 1:14

3. Peniel – God (Immanuel)

1. Ordinary times

2. Worship
