Framed by the Powers of This Dark World

Acts 13:4-12.  The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper.

They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith. Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said, 10 “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord? 11 Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind for a time, not even able to see the light of the sun.”

Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand. 12 When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.

Only Scripture reveals the reality of the kingdom of darkness (Matthew 12:25–27; John 16:11). How did it begin? Having lost the war against Michael and his angels, Satan was hurled to the earth along with his angels (Revelation 12:7–9). Since then, he has been leading the whole world astray.

In defiance of God, the devil deceived mankind to side with him and succeeded in trapping the first man and woman by offering them something they could not resist: “You will be like God” (Genesis 3:5).

Mankind, who absolutely needs God and was created to remain in relationship with Him, fell into the lies of the enemy. Though created to love God alone, people have become “lovers of themselves,” “lovers of money,” and “lovers of pleasure” (2 Timothy 3:1–4).

As a result, everyone has been born spiritually dead, under the power of the devil, curse, and hell (Genesis 3:1–19). Nothing anyone could do could restore their relationship with God.

In the Age of the Nephilim (Genesis 6:1–9), mankind—originally created as a spiritual being—became flesh (Genesis 6:3), chasing after its own desires: eating, drinking, getting married, pursuing money and pleasure. People were created to enjoy physical blessings that flow from spiritual blessings, but they exchanged their eternal blessings for temporary possessions and pleasures. Marriage without God’s covenant led to families with spiritual problems, which in turn produced societies and nations with spiritual problems.

Satan has continued to lead the effort to challenge God’s authority by filling people’s hearts and minds with a burning desire to succeed at any cost, along with personal ambition, selfish motives, and endless goals in life (Genesis 11:1–9). To prevent further disaster caused by their spiritual rebellion, God scattered them across the earth.

It is therefore critical to see that Satan’s aggression toward mankind, which began in Genesis 3, 6, and 11, continues today. Satan has created a frame around us using world powers, economy, and culture.

Scripture says that Satan controls the minds of “the rulers, the authorities, and the powers of this dark world” (Ephesians 6:12). Without knowing God, our elected leaders and all those in authority live in the same state of Genesis 3, 6, and 11.

As a result, they pursue political gain at any cost, like Pontius Pilate (Matthew 27:24), engage in endless political rivalry like King Saul (1 Samuel 18:8–9), carry out ruthless violence like Nimrod (Genesis 10:8–12), and promote idolatry like King Ahab and Queen Jezebel (1 Kings 16:29–33).

This is why wars never cease on this earth. Some leaders are tormented by evil spirits (1 Samuel 16:14–16), and like the proconsul Sergius Paulus in the book of Acts, they rely on the counsel of sorcerers and false prophets, who try to distort the message of the cross.

Little do these leaders know that they are drawing their strength and wisdom from the devil himself. Completely blinded by “the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4), they cannot see the truth—just like King Agrippa (Acts 26:1–32).

But thanks be to God, who sent His Son Jesus as the True King to set us free from Satan’s frame and the powers of this dark world. Unlike all earthly kings, conquerors, and heroes, Jesus came as the Prince of Peace: “Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever” (Isaiah 9:7).

Having realized, believed, and confirmed that Jesus is the Christ, Paul preached the gospel that saved the proconsul’s life by overpowering the forces of darkness. Throughout his life, God placed Paul before kings and leaders to testify of Christ (Acts 19:21; Acts 23:11; Acts 24:1–27; Acts 25:1–12; Acts 26:1–32; Acts 27:24).

In the same way, as you remain in the covenant of God, He will place you at the “spiritual summit” so that you may save and heal leaders and nations through the power of the gospel. Remember, God made you a witness, a leader, and a commander for the people (Isaiah 55:4).

So, like King David, cultivate spiritual strength and skills to stand as Christ’s witness to all nations (Psalm 78:70–72). Lift up your leaders and those in authority in prayer (1 Timothy 2:2), so that the gospel movement may continue with boldness and without hindrance.

Above all, enjoy God’s presence through His Word, and seek His plans through prayer in all circumstances. God’s peace will soon crush Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20).

Prayer. Father, thank You for saving me from Satan’s traps and frames. Today I celebrate my freedom in Christ. Use my life to set others free from Satan’s hand by the power of the gospel. Open the eyes of our leaders and those in authority to see the brokenness of this world and turn to You. In the name of Jesus, Prince of Peace, Amen.

Let the Tower Fall!

Genesis 11:1-9. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Even after the Flood, the work of Satan continued. Many nations came from the descendants of Noah and spread out over the earth. Tragically, people once again forgot the covenant God had established with them (Genesis 9:8–11).

Worse still, they began to challenge the authority of God. Nimrod (meaning “the rebel”), a great-grandson of Noah, became a “mighty warrior on the earth” and a “mighty hunter before the Lord” (Genesis 10:8–9), carrying out ruthless acts of violence in the presence of God.

Nimrod founded many kingdoms and cities, including Babel (or Babylon), in the land of Shinar (Genesis 10:10–12), where he led the effort to build a “tower that reaches to the heavens” (Genesis 11:4). Their goal was to make a name for themselves and remain united in defiance of God.

God did not allow the tower’s construction to continue, but the Tower of Babel movement Satan began through Nimrod has continued to this day. Satan lures people into pursuing worldly success at any cost, feeding their ambition, selfish motives, and endless goals in life. He promotes the unification of peoples, nations, and religions to carry out his own agenda, bringing as much destruction as possible to the world (Revelation 12:9). He is filled with fury because he knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12).

Tragically, many people take the “wide road” that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13). The devil’s temptation is real, attractive, and seemingly irresistible (Matthew 4:2–3; 4:5–6). Ultimately, the devil wants people to worship him (Matthew 4:8–9). He knows exactly what our old self desires.

Thanks be to God, who crucified our old self with Christ and united us with Him (Romans 6:5–6). God brought us into His kingdom, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). In Christ, God has given us the greatest success of all—being with Him.

When you believe the Good News that Jesus is the Christ, God gives you the right to become a child of God (John 1:12). That is why He answers your prayers. You will lack nothing (Psalm 23:1).

Since the day you believed, the Holy Spirit has come to live in you (1 Corinthians 3:16). That is why nothing can destroy you anymore. You now have a brand new life in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). God surrounds you with His angel armies (Hebrews 1:14). You will have ultimate victory over Satan (Romans 16:20).

God has given your life a new purpose and goal—proclaiming the gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:18–20). God has freely given all these things to you with Christ. So you don’t have to be intimidated by anything. You don’t have to envy anything. You don’t have to compromise with anything in this world.

God sent His Son Jesus as the Christ so that you may escape from the destruction of Genesis 3 (worshiping yourself), Genesis 6 (following the ways of the world), and Genesis 11 (building your own Tower of Babel).

Let the gospel take deep root in your spirit, soul, mind, and body so that the Tower of Babel in your life may fall. Knowing that you have been given everything through Christ, stop building your own tower.

Instead, enjoy God’s presence through His Word (John 1:1). Hold firmly to God’s covenant and pray in all circumstances, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit. God will give you undeniable evidence of His presence, heal you, and place you where you will save lives.

May the Kingdom of God come upon you throughout the day. Let the Tower of Babel of today’s culture that rebels against God and His gospel fall in the name of Jesus Christ.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for this time of worship and prayer. Fill me with Your wisdom, which surpasses human understanding and the knowledge of this world. Fill me with Your wisdom so that no one may take me captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Help me cultivate spiritual strength to the point where I will not be intimidated by anything, I will not envy anything, and I will not compromise with anything. Help me enjoy Your presence and live the life of an evangelist throughout the day. May all the forces of darkness and unbelief in my life be broken down in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

The Ark, Jesus the Christ

Genesis 6:1-9. When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.

Since the Fall (Genesis 3:1–7), people have lost their spiritual identity and fallen into the hands of Satan, ruled by the law of sin and death. As a result, they have lost spiritual discernment and now follow the ways of the world and the desires of the flesh, eating, drinking, and marrying anyone they choose (Genesis 6:1–2; Luke 17:27).

They have long forgotten who they were and the covenant God made—that He would send His own Son as “the offspring of the woman” (Genesis 3:15), the Christ, to rescue them from the kingdom of darkness.

Having lost every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms, people chase after the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16), producing generations that belong to the devil. That was the age of the Nephilim—the fallen—and that age continues even today.

Separated from God, people worship money, power, and pleasure. They look to “the heroes and men of renown” for answers to their problems and suffering. Seized by evil spirits, “every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart has become only evil all the time.” As a result, the world is now filled with corruption and violence (Genesis 6:11–12).

Tragically, even the covenant people—“the sons of God”—befriend the world and forget their spiritual identity and authority. The church, which God called to shine the light of the gospel in a dark world, preaches with no shame the kind of different gospels that lead to destruction (Matthew 16:13–14; Galatians 1:6–9). This grieves God more than anything else.

Once again, God took the initiative to remind the world of His covenant through Noah. He was “a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time,” and “he walked with God” (Genesis 6:9). By God’s grace, Noah realized, believed, and confirmed God’s covenant (Genesis 6:8).

God commanded Noah to build an ark—to escape from the curses (Genesis 6:13), to save himself (Genesis 6:14), to save his family (Genesis 6:18), and to preserve life (Genesis 6:20).

For the next 120 years, Noah would build an ark of cypress wood, coated with pitch inside and out (Genesis 6:14). It was strong and secure, and anyone who entered the ark was saved and protected from all harm.

That is exactly what it means to be in Christ. In Him, there is no condemnation. In Him, there is complete freedom from the power of sin and death (Romans 8:1–2).

If you are in Christ, your place is secure. The enemy—the devil—cannot touch those who have been covered by the blood of Christ. You may be weak in many ways, but Christ is strong. He has all authority in heaven and on earth and is now with you through the Holy Spirit. Nothing can destroy you.

“Noah did everything just as God commanded him” (Genesis 6:22). You are today’s Noah. You have found favor in the eyes of the Lord. For such a time as this, God has chosen you to build an ark for your family, your school, your workplace, and your community.

The time is short (1 Peter 3:20), and the call is urgent. So begin building the ark—by enjoying and proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the Christ.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for rescuing me from the age of the Nephilim. It was by Your grace that I found favor in Your sight. Open my eyes to see the reality of the world, completely covered by thick darkness. Like Noah, I will do everything You command me to do as I build the ark. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Greatest Deception, the Greatest Truth

Genesis 3:1-7. Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

The most tragic day in human history was the day mankind became a spiritual orphan—completely cut off from the glory of God the Father, fallen under the power of sin, curse, and hell, and seized by the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan.

Scripture tells us that Lucifer, also known as the “Morning Star,” had been created to proclaim God’s glory, but he became proud and rebelled against God (Ezekiel 28:12–19; Isaiah 14:10–14). Having lost the war in heaven, the devil lost his place, was hurled to the earth along with his angels, and has since been leading the whole world astray (Revelation 12:7–9).

Satan began his work by deceiving the first man and woman, persuading them to side with him and turn their backs on God by breaking the covenant God had made with them. Since that day, he has ruled over the entire human race by luring them into the ways of the world and the domain of his kingdom (Ephesians 2:2–3). He masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and like a roaring lion, he prowls around looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).

The devil also mobilizes evil spirits to take control over people’s spirit, soul, mind, and body (Mark 5:1–10; Acts 16:16–18). This demonic influence is still visible today, as people around the world suffer from countless spiritual and mental afflictions.

Using politics, culture, and economy, the devil—“the god of this age”—is blinding people’s minds so they cannot see the light of the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4–5). He is highly organized and relentlessly carries out his evil schemes against believers (Ephesians 6:11–13), constantly attacking them with flaming arrows (Ephesians 6:16).

To deceive Adam and Eve, Satan used the serpent as his instrument, planting seeds of unbelief and distrust in their hearts by asking, “Did God really say?” (Genesis 3:1). In doing so, he twisted the meaning of God’s covenant.

When the devil realized that Eve’s understanding of God’s covenant was not exactly what God had said (Genesis 2:16–17), he immediately contradicted it and told the greatest lie in history: “You will be like God” (Genesis 3:5).

The devil’s aim was never just to deceive Eve. His goal was to seize control of the entire human race that God loved. His bait was the false promise of self-reliance and self-centeredness.

Satan wanted to rule over people’s lives. As Jesus revealed, the devil, the father of lies, became the spiritual father of everyone born after Adam (John 8:44), and since then, humanity has lived under his power (Acts 10:38).

As a result, people have followed their own ways (Isaiah 53:6), their own wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:25), their own philosophies, traditions, and principles (Colossians 2:8), their own moral standards (Isaiah 64:6), and their own sense of righteousness (Romans 3:20).

Like Adam and Eve, everyone tries to cover their weaknesses and shame with religion and worldly solutions (Genesis 3:7). Everything revolves around themselves, but they cannot find true rest or peace. Instead, they reap fear, guilt, and insecurity.

People believe they are the masters of their lives without realizing that they are actually serving the devil and carrying out his desires (John 8:44). Since that tragic day, every kind of curse, disaster, calamity, and suffering has continued (Genesis 3:16–20).

But God promised the most glorious day in human history—the day when “the seed of the woman” would crush the head of Satan (Genesis 3:15). Jesus, God’s only Son, came and finished the work of the Christ (John 19:30). Through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, Jesus proved that He is the Christ (Matthew 28:1–15).

That was the day the power of Satan was completely shattered (Hebrews 2:14). That was the day the law of sin and death lost its grip on us (Romans 8:2). That was the day God opened a new and living way for us to return to Him (Hebrews 10:19–20).

Through Christ, God came to be with us (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:22–23). Jesus came so we may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10).

So stop listening to the lies of the devil. Start listening to what God says. Stop embracing different gospels. Start experiencing the true gospel—that Jesus is the Christ, the answer to every problem.

Stop relying on your own righteousness. Start relying on the finished work of Christ. Stop following your old self, which craves the desires of the flesh. Start living by faith in the Son of God, who loved you and gave Himself for you (Galatians 2:20).

Make Jesus the Lord of your life and follow Him. He will take you to the ends of the earth to stand as His witness to all nations (Acts 1:8).

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the glorious day when Jesus finished the work of the Christ. He crushed the head of the serpent, removed the power of sin from me, and called me out of darkness into His wonderful light. This is all because of Your love, grace, and mercy, which I do not deserve. Help me stop following my old self—my thoughts, my ways, and my own righteousness. Help me fix my eyes on Christ alone, who loved me and died for me. Use my life to shine the light of the gospel to all nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The "You" God Made

Genesis 1:26-28. Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

The greatest blessing of all is to be with God, who created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). He is the God who replaced formlessness, emptiness, and darkness with His eternal light (Genesis 1:2–3).

God spoke the universe into existence. Through His Word, all things were made; the Word is God (John 1:1–3). God’s Word gives life to the lifeless (Ezekiel 37:1–14), and His Word is living and active, able to heal the soul, spirit, mind, and body (Hebrews 4:12).

God’s Word is eternal (Isaiah 40:8), and everything He has spoken has been and will be fulfilled (Isaiah 55:11; Matthew 5:17–18). God answers our prayers through His Word (John 15:7). His Word brings revival and transformation to a dying world (Acts 19:20).

God’s creation extends to the entire universe, to all living creatures, and especially to mankind. Just as fish were created to live in the water, birds to fly in the air, and trees to grow with roots in the ground, mankind was made to be with God—the only true source of happiness.

God created people as spiritual beings in order to have an intimate relationship with them: “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7).

He created them uniquely in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:27). In fact, He made them a little lower than Himself and crowned them with glory and honor. He made them rulers over the works of His hands and placed everything under their feet (Psalm 8:5–6).

God blessed them with incredible authority and potential to be fruitful and increase in number, to fill the earth, subdue it, and rule over it (Genesis 1:28). To enjoy this relationship with God, along with their status and authority, God gave them a covenant (Genesis 2:17).

The covenant was meant to remind them of who God is, how they were created, how deeply He loved them, and how they were to continue enjoying true life and spiritual power. We were created to love God and worship Him alone.

Tragically, deceived by Satan—who had lost his place in heaven (Revelation 12:8)—mankind had the audacity to say “no” to the covenant God had given (Genesis 3:1–7).

This was the beginning of the devil’s work that would consume the entire human race: sin entered the world, and through sin, death (Romans 5:12), leading to eternal separation from God.

Since that time, Satan has taken over the spirit, soul, mind, and body of every person, forcing them to follow the ways of the world and his influence (Ephesians 2:1–3). His favorite traps have always been self-centeredness (Genesis 3:4–5), materialism and worldly pleasure (Genesis 6:4–5), and pride and worldly success (Genesis 11:1–8), ultimately dragging all of humanity into formlessness, emptiness, and darkness.

But compelled by His great love, grace, and mercy, God sent His one and only Son, Jesus—as the True King to destroy the devil’s work (1 John 3:8), as the True Priest to pay the price for our sins (Mark 10:45), and as the True Prophet to restore our broken relationship with God (John 14:6). Jesus came to finish the work of the Christ—the Anointed One. He came as the true light to remove the root cause of all formlessness, emptiness, and darkness (John 1:4–9).

When you realize, believe, and confirm that Jesus is the Christ, you will finally discover the “you” God made. You will no longer fear the power of the enemy. You will no longer live under guilt and shame. You will no longer wander, searching for a way back to God.

You will stop comparing yourself with others. You will begin to understand the meaning behind everything that happened in your life. You will become thankful for the people God has placed around you and be confident that He will turn all things into a blessing.

Invite Jesus to the throne of your life as your True King. Cling to Jesus, your True Priest, when you fall. Follow Jesus, your True Prophet, on your covenant journey home.

Stop focusing on, chasing after, or settling for the things of the world. Ask God to open your eyes to see the greatest blessing of all: being with Him. In Christ, you will find everything—your identity, your authority, and your future.

The world is waiting for the Good News that Jesus is the Christ. Now go. Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth, subdue it, and rule. Spread the Good News and save lives.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Come to the center of my life as my True King. Help me with my weaknesses as my True Priest. Take me along with You as my True Prophet on my covenant journey. I declare that I will not be afraid of all the power of the enemy because my True King, Jesus, lives in me. I declare I will not be trapped in guilt and shame any longer because my True Priest, Jesus, destroyed the power of sin. I declare I will not be lost again because my True Prophet, Jesus, is with me now and until the end of the age. In Your mighty name, Amen.

Jesus, Your True Prophet

Hebrews 10:19-20. Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body.

Since the beginning of time, God has been asking mankind, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9). Deceived by the devil, mankind rejected God’s covenant, went astray, and turned to their own ways (Isaiah 53:6).

Human beings, whom God created a little lower than Himself and crowned with glory and honor (Psalm 8:5), have fallen into a state of eternal separation from Him. They are subject to the power of sin, oppressed by all kinds of curses, and living like spiritual orphans in the background of hell.

People find themselves hiding from the presence of the loving God (Genesis 3:8). Fear and insecurity have become a permanent part of their lives (Genesis 3:10). They are forced to live with the identity of children of the devil (John 8:44), worshiping idols all their lives (Exodus 20:4–5).

As a result, people suffer in every way: spiritually (Ephesians 2:1), mentally (Matthew 11:28–30), and physically (Acts 8:4–8). They are under eternal condemnation (Luke 16:19–31), and their children are left to inherit generational curses (Matthew 27:25). To somehow return to God, they turn to religion (Matthew 12:43–45), philosophy (Colossians 2:8), moral living (Isaiah 64:6), legalism (Romans 3:20), and different gospels (Matthew 16:13–14).

They try to cover their weaknesses with pride, worldly possessions, and outward success. They try to satisfy their thirst with the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes (1 John 2:16), but these are like clothes made from fig leaves (Genesis 3:7)—they do not last. Instead, they bring more misery, shame, guilt, and pain.

People exchange God’s eternal blessings for temporary things of this world. With their minds blinded by the god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4), they cannot hear God’s voice calling them to return.

People continue to think and judge according to their own standards. Adam and Eve, obsessed with their nakedness, failed to realize that God wasn’t seeking to punish them, but to save them. This is the difference between religion and the gospel.

Scripture testifies that when Jesus died on the cross, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51). By His death, Jesus opened a new and living way into the Most Holy Place—the very presence of the Triune God. He finished the work of the True Prophet.

Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). He became the mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5), reconciling us to God (Romans 5:12).

This is why Christianity is not a religion, but the gospel: that Jesus is the Christ, the True Prophet. We must return again and again to the true gospel. God sent the “offspring of the woman” (Genesis 3:15), Jesus Christ, to rescue us from the power of sin, curses, and Satan.

Do not fall into the trap of religion that leads to death. Instead, hold firmly to the message of the cross that leads to life. God is not asking you, “What have you done?” He has always been asking, “Where are you?” He has finished the path for you to return to Him. God has given you confidence to enter His presence.

When you realize, believe, and confirm that Jesus is the Christ, the True Prophet, you will know that you have peace with God (Romans 5:1), and you no longer need to live in fear. When you believe that Jesus is your True Prophet who lives in you, you will know that you have crossed over from death to life (John 5:24) and that your place in Christ is secure (Ephesians 2:6).

When you believe that the work of your True Prophet is finished on the cross—opening a new and living way to God—you will stop trying to earn your way through religion. Instead, enjoy and share the Good News that Jesus is the Christ, your True Prophet.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, my True Prophet. You opened a new and living way to God by Your own blood on the cross and have given me the confidence to enter the throne of God. Jesus, Your True Priest

2 Corinthians 5:21. God made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The fundamental nature of sin is the broken state of relationship with God. It is the fallen condition of humanity, having lost the glory of God and becoming completely cut off from the heavenly realms (Romans 3:23). Sin entered the world through one man, Adam, when he was deceived by Satan and broke the covenant with God (Genesis 2:16–17). We all broke that covenant with him.

As a result, death entered the world through sin, and in this way, death came to all people (Genesis 3:1–7; Romans 5:12). Since that moment, every person has been born spiritually dead because of original sin (Ephesians 2:1), forced to live in the state of sin (Ephesians 2:2–3), with their body ruled by sin and their earthly nature (Colossians 3:5). This is not a condition we can undo through religion, upright living, or human effort. It is a spiritual problem that every person must face.

But God, in His great love, did not spare His own Son, Jesus, but sent Him to rescue us from the hand of Satan. Through the cross, God demonstrated His love for us (Romans 5:8). Why did Jesus, who was without sin, have to die? Because it was the only way to break the power and curse of sin, death, and hell (Hebrews 9:22). It was the only way to restore our relationship with God—to restore the righteousness of God in us (2 Corinthians 5:21).

By dying on the cross, Jesus completed the work of the True Priest: “He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9:12).

He became a curse for us on the cross so that the curse of sin would be removed from us. That is why Scripture declares, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1–2).

It is all about God’s amazing grace. Even our saving faith is a gift from God, not something that comes from our own righteousness or effort. While we were still hopeless and helpless, God sent Jesus as the Christ to bring us back to Himself. He didn’t have to do it—but He did. We didn’t deserve it—but He poured out His mercy on us.

Jesus finished it all on the cross—once for all—for all our sins: past, present, and future. When you realize, believe, and confirm that Jesus is the Christ, the True Priest, you will understand that you have been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) and that your true spiritual identity is in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:6).

When you believe that Jesus is your True Priest who lives in you, you no longer have to live in guilt and shame. When you believe that the work of your True Priest is finished on the cross—destroying the power of sin over your life—you can declare true freedom in Christ in every situation.

Do not rely on your feelings (Romans 7:14–25), but cling to the cross of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:1–2). Fix your eyes on Jesus, your True Priest, and you will not grow weary or lose heart (Hebrews 12:3). Enjoy and proclaim the Good News that Jesus is the Christ, your True Priest!

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, my True Priest, who entered the Most Holy Place once for all by Your own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for me. So I declare that there is no condemnation for me because I am in You. I declare that I have been set free from the law of sin and death. I declare that I am a child of God and that sin will not have dominion over me. I declare that as far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed all my sins from me, and He remembers them no more. I declare that Lord Jesus, my True Priest, lives in me now and until the end of the age. In Your mighty name, Amen.

Jesus, Your True King

Romans 16:20. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

Scripture reveals that Satan, “the god of this age” (2 Corinthians 4:4), has been ruling the world by the law of sin and death (Romans 6:23; Romans 8:2). As a result, everyone has been living as a child of the devil (John 8:44), following the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Ephesians 2:2).

The devil has established a dwelling in every human heart (Matthew 12:26–30). Nothing in this world can fix this problem; in fact, things only become worse over time (Matthew 12:43–45). Ultimately, Satan builds strongholds in our minds through “arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God” and takes captive “every thought” to oppose the truth (2 Corinthians 10:5).

As a result, all people fall into the trap of self-centeredness (Genesis 3:4–5), materialism and worldly pleasure (Genesis 6:4–5), and pride and ambition for worldly success (Genesis 11:1–8). Furthermore, Satan has shaped human thinking and culture into the pattern of this world through the influence of shamanism (Acts 13:5–12), divination (Acts 16:16–18), and all forms of idol worship and religion (Acts 19:8–20).

In doing so, the devil has infiltrated and gained influence over politics, society, and the economy (Ephesians 6:12). He seeks to create chaos, fear, and destruction on every level, knowing that his time is short (Revelation 12:12).

The evidence of Satan’s work is everywhere in people’s lives. Having lost the true identity and purpose given by God, people are overwhelmed by the devil’s power. They suffer spiritually (Ephesians 2:1), mentally (Matthew 11:28–30), physically (Acts 8:4–8), and are destined for eternal condemnation (Luke 16:19–31). Even future generations are left to face disasters and curses (Matthew 27:25). No religion, philosophy, or good works can provide a way out of this trap.

But thanks be to God, who delivered us from Satan’s power through Jesus, our True King. Jesus destroyed the devil’s work (1 John 3:8) and broke the power of death (Hebrews 2:14), completing the work of the True King.

You no longer need to fear anything in this world when you realize, believe, and confirm that Jesus is your True King. If you believe that Jesus is your King who now lives in you, there is nothing left to worry about.

If you believe that the work of your King was completed on the cross, where He crushed the head of Satan, you can declare victory in every situation of your life. Jesus, who has all authority in heaven and on earth, is with you now and until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

Jesus has given you authority to overcome all the power of the devil, and nothing will harm you (Luke 10:19). You have been equipped with everything necessary to defeat all the strategies of the enemy: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10–17).

Always stay alert. Never let your guard down. Declare these spiritual truths boldly and resist the devil in Jesus’ name. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. God will use your life to rescue others who are living under Satan’s power.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, my True King, who destroyed the devil’s work in my life. I declare that Satan was defeated when my True King died on the cross and rose again from the dead. I declare that my True King lives in me now and until the end of the age. I declare that I have been given authority to overcome all the powers of the enemy. I declare that I have what it takes to defeat all the strategies of the devil. In Your mighty name, Amen.

Jesus, the True Prophet

John 14:6. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Why do people need salvation? Isn’t religion enough? Doesn’t philosophy offer a way of life? What about living uprightly? Doesn’t success guarantee happiness? And with the rapid advancements in science and technology, wouldn’t they eventually solve all our problems? Yet, despite all of this, people continue to wonder why unhappiness never truly ends.

According to Scripture, the root of all unhappiness is eternal separation from God. Deceived by Satan and fallen into sin, people lost the blessing of being with God (Genesis 3:1–7). The privilege of entering God’s throne was removed from their lives forever.

Since that moment, every human being has been born spiritually dead, completely unaware of God (Ephesians 2:1). They have been forced to live under the power of Satan, bound by sin, and trapped in the path toward hell, all while following the ways of the world (Ephesians 2:2).

No religion, no amount of upright living, no collection of good deeds can bring people back to God. In the eyes of a holy God, all human righteousness is like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). No one on earth has the ability to overcome the power of Satan, who holds the power of death (Hebrews 2:14).

Many people believe that sincerity is enough to meet God. Others try to find Him through religion, diligently following rules, rituals, and traditions (Matthew 12:43–45). But none of these paths lead to salvation because people do not understand the problem of original sin. Without knowing this root problem, they cannot understand why salvation is necessary. A person who has not received salvation cannot meet God. Without salvation, they cannot truly know Him. Without being born again, they cannot see His kingdom (John 3:3–5). Salvation means being set free from Satan’s grasp, being released from the bondage of sin, and escaping the curse of hell.

Motivated by His great love for us, God promised to restore the broken relationship by sending His Son, Jesus, as the True Prophet. Jesus became the only way for us to return to the Father (John 14:6). Through His death on the cross, He opened “a new and living way” (Hebrews 10:20). At the cross, He declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30), completing the work of the True Prophet.

The events of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection become personal and real when He enters your life. If anyone believes that Jesus is the True Prophet and opens the door to Him, Jesus will enter and dwell with that person forever (Revelation 3:20). When Jesus lives in you, He prepares a daily spiritual feast for your soul, even in the presence of your enemy, the devil (Psalm 23:5).

So stop looking for other ways back to God. Human efforts may produce external changes, but they cannot give life. Even if those efforts seem noble or sincere, they are not the source of salvation.

No one on earth can defeat Satan, the one who caused eternal separation from God in the first place. That is why the Bible declares, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Salvation is by God’s grace alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). Invite Jesus into the center of your life as your Lord and Savior, and you will experience His life, His power, and the undeniable evidence of His presence within you.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, my True Prophet. You came to save me when I was wandering without knowing how to return to the Father. You opened the way of salvation for me by dying on the cross. So I open the door to invite You to the center of my life. Thank You for being with me now and for all the blessings You have poured into my life. I won’t be lost again because You found me in You. In Your mighty name, Amen.

Jesus, the True Priest

Mark 10:45. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

God laments, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). What is this knowledge that God says His people lack? He provides the answer: “As at Adam, they have broken the covenant; they were unfaithful to me there” (Hosea 6:7).

It is the knowledge of the covenant—the knowledge of original sin and its consequence—that people have lost. Because they do not understand what happened in the Garden of Eden, they are destroyed. People are often only aware of the actual sins they have committed in life, so they try to solve their problems through religion, upright living, and moral behavior. But Jesus did not come to make us better people; He came to save us from the curse of Satan, sin, and hell.

Sadly, many believers and churches today are unknowingly following religion instead of the gospel Jesus came to give. Because they are unaware of the root of sin—original sin—they do not understand why they must believe in Jesus, and in Jesus alone.

Scripture clearly states, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This refers not just to our actions but to the original sin with which every person is born. Because of this sin, death entered the world (Genesis 2:16–17; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1). All humanity is born into this state of separation and spiritual death. No one is able to escape the curse that sin brings.

That is why, when Jesus was asked whether the man born blind had sinned or if his parents had sinned, He responded, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him” (John 9:1–3). The work of God was displayed through Jesus, who went to the cross to demolish the power of sin.

Hebrews 9:12 says that Jesus “entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.” When He died on the cross, He cried out, “It is finished” (John 19:30), completing the work of the True Priest. Jesus did not come merely to forgive sin but to break its power completely.

When you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the True Priest who died for your sins, you are no longer under the control of sin. You have been completely set free from “the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). Jesus Himself promised that He would build His church on the rock of this confession, and the gates of hell will not overcome it (Matthew 16:18).

So do not be shaken by anything in this world. You have been given the keys of the kingdom—to bind and loose, to pray with authority, and to experience God’s power in every circumstance: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).

You also have the privilege of drawing near to God’s throne with boldness and confidence (Hebrews 4:16). You have been called out of the kingdom of darkness and brought into the kingdom of light. You are now a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Because Jesus finished everything on the cross, you can now consider everything finished. God urges you to let go of the past: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” (Isaiah 43:18–19). God is not holding your past against you. Instead, He is turning every scar and failure into a testimony of grace.

Remember, the saving faith you now have in Christ is entirely rooted in God’s grace—not in your righteousness, effort, or performance. You are under grace. So do not let anything enslave you again.

Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Christ, my True Priest, who broke the power of sin, curses, and hell. Thank You for setting me free from all my sins. Thank You for demonstrating Your unconditional love for me by shedding Your precious blood on the cross. You saved me from the sins of the past, present, and future and gave me true freedom and joy. Lord, I thank You for bringing healing to my life. Use my life to carry the message of the cross to those who are suffering under the power of sin. In Your precious name, Amen.
