Call to Worship
God is spirit, and
..His worshipers must worship
..In the Spirit and in truth.” — John 4:24

Hymn
Perfect You Are My God
Rose Park

Perfect You are my God
Righteous and Holy
In all of Your ways
Revealing Your glory
In all that You do
All men will worship You

I will worship You
I will praise Your name
For You are the only Lord and King
I will worship You
I will praise Your name
My desire is to honor You Lord

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Begin, My Tongue, Some Heavenly Theme
Isaac Watts

Begin, my tongue, some heavenly theme,
And Speak some boundless thing
The mighty works, or mightier name,
Of our eternal King.

Tell of His wondrous faithfulness,
And sound His power abroad
Sing the sweet promise of His grace,
The love and truth of God.

His very word of grace is strong
As that which built the skies
The voice that rolls the stars along
Speaks all the promises.

O might I hear Thy heavenly tongue
But whisper, “Thou art Mine,”
Those gentle words should raise my song
To notes almost divine.

Responsive Reading
Psalm 5

Leader: Listen to my words, Lord,
consider my lament.
People: Hear my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

Leader: In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
People: For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
with you, evil people are not welcome.

Leader: The arrogant cannot stand
in your presence.
You hate all who do wrong;
People: you destroy those who tell lies.
The bloodthirsty and deceitful
you, Lord, detest.

Leader: But I, by your great love,
can come into your house;
in reverence I bow down
toward your holy temple.
People: Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies—
make your way straight before me.

Hymn
How Great Thou Art
Carl Boberg

Oh Lord, my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

Scripture Reading
Lamentations 4:1-5
Carmetta Williams

How the gold has lost its luster,
    the fine gold become dull!
The sacred gems are scattered
    at every street corner.

How the precious children of Zion,
    once worth their weight in gold,
are now considered as pots of clay,
    the work of a potter’s hands!

Even jackals offer their breasts
    to nurse their young,
but my people have become heartless
    like ostriches in the desert.

Because of thirst the infant’s tongue
    sticks to the roof of its mouth;
the children beg for bread,
    but no one gives it to them.

Those who once ate delicacies
    are destitute in the streets.
Those brought up in royal purple
    now lie on ash heaps.

Message
Pure Gold Does Not Become Dull
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su

※ What covenant must one hold in order to receive an answer?
1. Israel was given the gospel, but did not preach or enjoy the gospel, resulting in children dying and disaster coming.
2. Worldly grief is the way to death; spiritual grief is the way to life.
3. Jeremiah’s grief is the way to save Israel and the world.

▣ Introduction – Spiritual grief
1. Grief toward the age – A spiritual epidemic is spreading across the entire land.
1) Children are falling into spiritual problems, drugs, and mental illness.
2) The church is not giving the gospel of life.
(1) Children of underdeveloped nations, captivated by superstition, idols, and evil spirits.
(2) Organizations spreading strange movements in America and Europe.
(3) Churches that have no interest in this and only fight.
3) Children all over the world are dying, falling into Satan’s festivals. This is an age in which children commit suicide.

2. God’s grief
1) God who lamented when He saw mankind become Nephilim due to spiritual problems (Gen 6).
2) Jesus who grieved seeing sheep without a shepherd (Matt 9:35-38).
3) Those who carry the grief that the gospel and nothing else will do, hold back disaster (Matt 5:3-4).

3. WRC must become a spiritual festival. Carry that grief, renew your strength, and save the children of the nations.

▣ Main
1. God’s promises given to the grieving prophets.
1) Isaiah – “Things will fall further into ruin, but the Remnant will not be destroyed.”
2) Jeremiah – “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
3) Ezekiel – “Prophesy the Word. Prophesy the breath of life.”
▷ For the Remnant, this is both the first opportunity and the last opportunity. Nothing else must be given to them.

2. God who worked through those who went to Babylon carrying grief.
1) The three young adults – Even if they succeed, success was not the point. They saved their own people and others.
2) Daniel – He resolved and prayed with thanksgiving, just as he had done before.
3) Esther – “God placed me here for such a time as this. If I die, I die.”

3. God who accomplished the work of restoring the temple through those who carried grief.
1) Nehemiah – He spoke to the king about restoring the temple.
2) Zerubbabel – A leader of temple restoration who knew grief.
3) Haggai – God gave the word of restoration (Haggai 2:1-9).
▷ What matters is whether the covenant God has given is the right one or not.

▣ Conclusion – “He knows your tears”
1. Worldly grief is the path to destruction.
2. Spiritual grief changes the world.
3. Those who carry a grief that gives life.
1) They take on the challenge because, in the absolute impossibility, they see absolute possibility.
2) Because they know God’s power, it is fine even if no one helps them.
3) Because they know what prayer is, it is fine even if they have nothing.
4) God accomplishes the work of His throne and the work of His kingdom through this person.
▷ Offering – The three economies must be restored, and the very best must be given to God.
▷ The three-day weekend age – Our children and people of other nations must come to know the gospel and prayer, and then be sent out.

Tithes & Offering

Hymn
Remnant
Kim Young Gon and Kwon Jung Min

God’s people are scattered all around,
For the LORD has sent us on ahead of time;
But when the LORD calls us together,
We shall see His covenant in us restored;

For in this dark world full of idols,
The people have lost all their hope.
But when the Spirit comes
Like the power of the wind,
They will hear and receive the LORD.

Let us rise, all you scattered,
As the remnant,
Let us shine the light of Jesus,
To the world of night;
In the nations of the world,
Let us rise and shine for Jesus,
For we are His Remnant.

Prayer

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus
