Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
…Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
…Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
…Born of the Virgin Mary,
…Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
…Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
…And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Praise Him! Praise Him!
Fanny Crosby
Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O earth– His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! Hail Him! highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children;
In His arms, He carries them all day long.
Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness.
Praise Him! Praise Him ever in joyful song!
Praise Him, praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died.
He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation—
Hail Him! Hail Him! Jesus, the Crucified!
Sound His praises! Jesus, who bore our sorrows!
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep, and strong. Refrain
Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever.
Crown Him! Crown Him! Prophet, and Priest, and King!
Christ is coming, over the world victorious;
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong! Refrain

Psalm 2
Leader: Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?
People: The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together
Leader: against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
People: “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”
Leader: The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
People: the Lord scoffs at them.
Leader: He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
People: “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
Leader: I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me,
People: “You are my son; today I have become your father.
Leader: Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
People: the ends of the earth your possession.

The Best Friend to Have Is Jesus
P. P. Bilhorn
Oh, the best friend to have is Jesus,
When the cares of life upon you roll,
He will heal the wounded heart,
He will strength and grace impart;
Oh, the best friend to have is Jesus.
The best friend to have is Jesus,
The best friend to have is Jesus,
He will help you when you fall,
He will hear you when you call;
Oh, the best friend to have is Jesus.
What a friend I have found in Jesus!
Peace and comfort to my soul He brings;
Leaning on His mighty arm,
I will fear no ill nor harm;
Oh, the best friend to have is Jesus. Refrain
Tho’ I pass thro’ the night of sorrow,
And the chilly waves of Jordan roll,
Never need I shrink nor fear,
For my Saviour is so near;
Oh, the best friend to have is Jesus. Refrain
When at last to our home we gather,
With the faithful who have gone before,
We will sing upon the shore,
Praising Him forevermore;
Oh, the best friend to have is Jesus. Refrain

Esther 4:1-16
Carmetta Williams
When Mordecai learned of all that had been done, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the city, wailing loudly and bitterly. 2 But he went only as far as the king’s gate, because no one clothed in sackcloth was allowed to enter it. 3 In every province to which the edict and order of the king came, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping and wailing. Many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
4 When Esther’s eunuchs and female attendants came and told her about Mordecai, she was in great distress. She sent clothes for him to put on instead of his sackcloth, but he would not accept them. 5 Then Esther summoned Hathak, one of the king’s eunuchs assigned to attend her, and ordered him to find out what was troubling Mordecai and why.
6 So Hathak went out to Mordecai in the open square of the city in front of the king’s gate. 7 Mordecai told him everything that had happened to him, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews. 8 He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people.
9 Hathak went back and reported to Esther what Mordecai had said. 10 Then she instructed him to say to Mordecai, 11 “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king.”
12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
Message
Crises Are Opportunities
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su
▣ Introduction: Five Things to Know in Advance
1. The reason suffering came (the reason for captivity) — because there was no spiritual strength.
2. Why has this kind of crisis come at this moment?
3. What does God’s Word prophesy?
4. What happens when we pray?
5. Why are we here? — Esther knew what her mission was.
▣ Main: Do Not Fear the Crisis.
1. The crisis that came upon all of Israel — an opportunity for world evangelization
…1) The reason God sent them as slaves to Egypt — an opportunity for world evangelization (237, 5000)
…2) The reason God caused them to be taken captive to Assyria — an opportunity for the recovery of missed world evangelization
…3) The reason God caused them to be taken captive to Babylon — the timetable and opportunity for world evangelization
▷ If you don’t know this, even if you come out of Egypt you cannot come out from under Satan.
▷ Throne — The prayer of one who knows the gospel and knows the reason moves the throne (Isaiah 62:6–7).
2. Family line and personal problems — a springboard for the future (prayer that brings the kingdom of God)
…1) Esther 2:7 Mordecai, who adopted and raised Esther, the orphan
…2) Esther 2:20 Mordecai, a man of prayer, who told Esther not to reveal that she was Jewish
…3) Esther 4:14–16 “Speak now.” “If I perish, I perish.” — Because they held the secret of covenant, faith, and prayer, everything became a springboard.
▷ Kingdom — When you know the covenant and pray, the kingdom of God comes (Esther 4:16).
3. When the wicked cause many difficulties — an opportunity to bear witness to the light (prayer that brings about the work of the kingdom of God)
…1) Mordecai who reported the plot to assassinate the king
…2) Mordecai who did not bow to Haman
…3) The resolve of Mordecai and Esther who brought down all the forces of darkness — Haman’s evil failure and the Festival of Purim commemorating this event
▷ Work — When you truly pray with the covenant, the work of the kingdom of God is accomplished.
▣ Conclusion: Three Things to Enjoy Daily
1. The power of prayer
…1) Go to meet problems with the power of prayer.
…2) Go seeking problems with the answer.
…3) Prayer and life go together.
2. Gospel — Making opportunities in every field
3. Evangelism
…1) 3 Camps — The Holy Spirit being 300% with you in your life.
…2) Changing the forces of darkness with fundamental strength. You are spiritual summits.
…3) Our standard — 237, 5000, TCK

People of the Covenant
Lee Jang-Hee
Even though I am very weak
God is perfect, God is complete
And though time and again I may fall
He will raise me up again
We’re the people of His Covenant
He is forever with us
Our God works in our lives through His Spirit
In every step we take
No one can ever block the Word of Life
No one can cast aside the Word of God
The gospel of our Lord will be fulfilled
In the name of Jesus Christ
The gospel will be proclaimed
We’re the people of His Covenant
Proclaimed to the very ends of the earth
In every step we take
Prayer · Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
…hallowed be thy name;
…thy kingdom come;
…thy will be done;
…on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
…as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
…but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
…the power and the glory,
…forever and ever.
Amen.

We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price
Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.
And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!
We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail. Chorus
Benediction
