Call to Worship
God is spirit, and
..His worshipers must worship
..In the Spirit and in truth.” — John 4:24

Hymn
Perfect You Are My God
Rose Park

Perfect You are my God
Righteous and Holy
In all of Your ways
Revealing Your glory
In all that You do
All men will worship You

I will worship You
I will praise Your name
For You are the only Lord and King
I will worship You
I will praise Your name
My desire is to honor You Lord

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!
Reginald Heber

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and seraphim, falling down before thee,
Who was and is and evermore shall be.

Holy, Holy, Holy! though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity.

Responsive Reading
Psalm 1

Leader: Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
People: or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,

Leader: but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
People: and who meditates on his law day and night.

Leader: That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
People: and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

Leader: Not so the wicked!
People: They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

Leader: Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
People: nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Leader: For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
People: but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Hymn
Down at the Cross
E. A. Hoffman

Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to his name!

Glory to his name,
Glory to his name;
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to his name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where he took me in;
Glory to his name!  Refrain

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to his name!  Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to his name!  Refrain

Scripture Reading
Daniel 3:14-18
Carmetta Williams

Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? 15 Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”

16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

Message
Even If He Does Not
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su

▣ Introduction
1. Causes of war
1) Politicians and great powers who have learned from unbelievers – they believe they must fight and win.
2) Those who have not received salvation – they are dragged along by the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Eph 2:2).
3) Satan – using principalities and powers, evil forces, heavenly spirits, and religion (Eph 6:12)
4) The Bible teaches winning without fighting.

2. Background of the passage
1) Babylon running errands for Satan – forcing idol worship
2) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s refusal to worship idols – “even if He does not”
3) A death sentence – God, who sent His angel to protect them in the midst of the fire, and a king who praised God

3. What we must confirm first
1) Great powers – conquering many nations and engaging in idol worship is not success.
2) The 5,000 tribes – being sold and serving as slaves is not failure.
3) Israel – unable to spread the gospel, bound by religion, and wandering
4) The few who hold the covenant – though they appear to be suffering hardship, it is not hardship.

▣ Main
1. Not destruction, but globalization, churchification, and evangelization

2. Not captivity, but a time to prepare for what is true
1) Remnant movement – the throne
2) Gospel movement – Immanuel
3) Word movement – the eternal Word
4) Prayer movement – a new thing
5) Restoration movement – light, future generations
6) Watchman movement – the highway, a banner for the nations

3. Crisis is an opportunity
1) Being promoted is an opportunity – Daniel, who resolved himself.
2) Coming as a captive is an opportunity – the three friends, who resolved themselves.
3) Receiving a death sentence for refusing to bow before an idol is an opportunity.

▣ Conclusion: Bring the darkness to its knees (It is okay to die for the name of Christ alone.)
1. Characteristics of the 7 Remnants who changed the world
1) Joseph – It is okay because the Lord is with me.
2) David – The Lord is my shepherd, my staff and my rod. I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
▷ Seize the covenant so that the darkness may be broken.

2. Job
1) It is the Lord who gave, and the Lord who takes away. I will not blame the Lord for such things.
2) The Lord lives, and when I meet the Lord, I will meet Him outside of my body.
3) The Lord’s purpose is steadfast. After He has refined me, I will come forth as pure gold.

3. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – even if He does not
1) Delivering the covenant to the entire world
2) The work of breaking the idol-darkness of Babylon
3) Unbelievers praising God

Hymn
Witnesses of Christ
Joon Suk Kim

In this world there are people who suffer
In their pain, never knowing why
They are lost in their sins far away from meeting God
Living under forces of darkness

But the Lord, He has called us His chosen
Royal priesthood and holy nation
We’re His people of light in the darkness

Witnesses of Christ for all the world
Let us testify for Jesus Christ
King of kings and Lord Immanuel
Let’s proclaim to all of Jesus Christ
He’s the only answer to this life

Prayer · Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus

Benediction
