Hymn
Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus
George Duffield

Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
ye soldiers of the cross;
lift high His royal banner,
it must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
till ev’ry foe is vanquished,
and Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
the trumpet call obey;
forth to the mighty conflict,
in this His glorious day.
Ye that are brave now serve him
against unnumbered foes;
let courage rise with danger,
and strength to strength oppose.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
stand in His strength alone;
the arm of flesh will fail you,
ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armor,
each piece put on with prayer;
where duty calls or danger,
be never wanting there.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
the strife will not be long;
this day the noise of battle,
the next the victor’s song.
To him who over-cometh
a crown of life shall be;
they with the King of Glory
shall reign eternally.

Love of Country

Leader: Let all the earth fear the Lord;/
let all the people of the world revere him.
People: The Lord foils the plans of the nations;
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

Leader: But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
People: Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance.

Leader: From heaven the Lord looks down
and sees all mankind;
People: from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth—

Leader: No king is saved by the size of his army;
People: no warrior escapes by his great strength.

Leader: But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
People: to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.

Leader: We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
People: May your unfailing love be with us, Lord,
even as we put our hope in you.

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
…Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
…Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
…Born of the Virgin Mary,
…Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
…Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
…And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Am I a Soldier of the Cross
Isaac Watts

Am I a soldier of the Cross—
A follower of the Lamb?
And shall I fear to own His cause,
Or blush to speak His name?

In the name, the precious name,
Of Him who died for me,
Through grace I’ll win the promised crown,
Whate’er my cross may be.

Must I be carried to the skies
On flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize
And sailed through bloody seas?

Are there no foes for me to face?
Must I not stem the flood?
Is this vile world a friend to grace,
To help me on to God?

Since I must fight if I would reign,
Increase my courage, Lord!
I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain,
Supported by Thy Word.

Scripture Reading
Acts 27:10-25

“Men, I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo, and to our own lives also.” 11 But the centurion, instead of listening to what Paul said, followed the advice of the pilot and of the owner of the ship. 12 Since the harbor was unsuitable to winter in, the majority decided that we should sail on, hoping to reach Phoenix and winter there. This was a harbor in Crete, facing both southwest and northwest.

13 When a gentle south wind began to blow, they saw their opportunity; so they weighed anchor and sailed along the shore of Crete. 14 Before very long, a wind of hurricane force, called the Northeaster, swept down from the island. 15 The ship was caught by the storm and could not head into the wind; so we gave way to it and were driven along. 16 As we passed to the lee of a small island called Cauda, we were hardly able to make the lifeboat secure, 17 so the men hoisted it aboard. Then they passed ropes under the ship itself to hold it together. Because they were afraid they would run aground on the sandbars of Syrtis, they lowered the sea anchor and let the ship be driven along. 18 We took such a violent battering from the storm that the next day they began to throw the cargo overboard. 19 On the third day, they threw the ship’s tackle overboard with their own hands. 20 When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and the storm continued raging, we finally gave up all hope of being saved.

21 After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss. 22 But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. 23 Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me 24 and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

Message
The Military Missions Journey from Cornelius’s House to Rome
Pastor Kwang-Su Ryu

▣ Introduction
Even just by worshiping well, you will succeed. Even with only worship that changes your thoughts into prayer, you will be victorious.
1. Ask just one question about military missions. If you do this 24, 25, eternity, you will change the world.
2. Military mission message
1) Open the age of whole-congregation military missions.
2) The age of Remnant military missions – Train in advance the Remnant who will become soldiers.
3) Find a person like Cornelius among those in active service and make them into a secret task force.
4) For multi-ethnic ministry, find military disciples first.
5) Break through the Iron Curtain.

3. Remnant who broke through impregnable fortresses
1) Joseph, who broke through Egypt with Genesis 3:15
2) Moses, who brought down that fortress with Exodus 3:18, which overcomes darkness, disasters, and Satan
3) Samuel, who brought down the Philistines with the burnt offering
4) They held onto only the Immanuel message of Isaiah 7:14, yet Babylon collapsed. Hold onto the covenant firmly.

▣ Main_ Journey – To whom does God entrust Cornelius and Rome?
1. True disciples who come forth amid false accusations
1) The people who came down from Mt Olive and devoted themselves only to prayer – the multi-ethnic peoples of 15 nations gathered here.
2) God raised up the cripple in the name of Christ.
3) They went to Samaria and brought about works.

2. True disciples who are unaffected by persecution
1) Stephen, who preached the accurate gospel and died
2) The Antioch Church, which came into being because of this event
3) God broke Paul and sent him to this place, sent him out on world missions, and had him evangelize Rome.

3. Those who survived amid tribulation – Those who have the gospel are not shaken.
1) The soldier Cornelius – a hidden card, a secret task force
2) The reason we must pray for military missions – Because Satan moves the rulers, the authorities, the evil spirits, and those who do lawlessness, He told us to arm ourselves (Ephesians 6:12).
3) The power of the 3 camps (the secret of going all the way to Rome amid tribulation) – the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the work of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Holy Spirit
▷ Do not be shaken by public opinion. Do not fear persecution and tribulation.

▣ Conclusion
1. Hold onto the evidence.
1) From Mark’s upper room to conquering Rome
2) From the synagogue to Rome
3) From Cornelius to Rome

2. The age of storms is an opportunity. Because we must go to save, do not fear false accusations, persecution, and tribulation.

3. Three things to do
1) Godly sorrow – You must receive answers to the extent that what I do becomes an evangelism movement. Agonize over that (2 Corinthians 7:10).
2) The answer to receive during worship – Mt Calvary (It is finished), Mt Olive (mission – 40 days of explaining about the kingdom of God), Mark’s upper room (only)
3) This Word is engraved in my soul (textbook), in my life (handbook), in my future (notebook)

Tithes & Offering

Special Music
Amazing Grace
John Newton; Performed by 237 MR Choir

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

The Lord hath promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.

Hymn
O Lord, In My Life
Kwang-Su Ryu · Ji Hye Yang

O Lord, in my life I pray to enjoy Immanuel each day
All my thoughts and the smallest things I do,
May every part of me belong to You

For all my life may I be found
On the road of your disciples, Lord
With my past and my present day,
My future, all my life, Lord have Your way

Far above myself, the grace of God is higher
Above the answers, it is the Lord’s desire
And, past all my work, it is the plan of God
Beyond the blessings, it is Your Covenant

The love of God, transcending the love of man
Lord, help me to see; Lord, open my eyes
Embracing the Remnant Age in my heart,
May I stand before, before You, Lord!
