Call to Worship

Hymn
I Will Worship You
Seok Jin Oh · Ha Young Yoo

In the Spirit Lord, I will worship You.
And in truth alone I will worship You.
With the gospel of life, I will worship You.
For You are worthy of all glory, Lord.

Father, Son, and Spirit, I will worship You.
With the covenant, I will worship You.
With the blessing of the throne, I will worship You.
Lord, let your power be revealed through my life.

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Robert Robinson

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing;
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above;
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of God’s unchanging love!

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Hither by Thy help I’m come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace now, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart; O take and seal it;
Seal it for thy courts above.

Responsive Reading
Psalm 139

Leader: O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
People: You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.

Leader: You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
People: Before a word is on my tongue, you know it completely, O LORD.

Leader: Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
People: If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

Leader: If I ride on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
People: even there, your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Leader: Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
People: See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Hymn
When I See the Blood
John G. Foote and Elisha A. Hoffman

Christ our Redeemer died on the cross,
Died for the sinner, paid all his due;
Sprinkle your soul with the blood of the Lamb,
And I will pass, will pass over you.

When I see the blood,
When I see the blood,
When I see the blood,
I will pass, I will pass over you.

Chiefest of sinners, Jesus will save;
As He has promised, that He will do;
Wash in the fountain opened for sin,
And I will pass, will pass over you.   Refrain

Judgment is coming, all will be there,
Each one receiving justly his due;
Hide in the saving, sin-cleansing blood,
And I will pass, will pass over you.   Refrain

O great compassion! O boundless love!
O lovingkindness, faithful and true!
Find peace and shelter under the blood,
And I will pass, will pass over you.   Refrain

Scripture Reading
Acts 10:1-6
Pastor Francis

At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. One day at about three in the afternoon he had a vision. He distinctly saw an angel of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”

Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked.

The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God. Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called Peter. He is staying with Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea.”

God’s True Plan Is In a Different Place
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su
Full Transcript

▣ Introduction: What should we do when we meet hardship, crisis, and failure?
1. God’s plan is in a completely different place.
1) Prayer is finding God’s plan.
2) God has prepared something better, something unimagined, something great.
2. Those who discovered God’s plan
1) The seven remnants
(1) Joseph (family problem) – From the beginning he held the true plan of God (the concrete answer of world evangelization) (Genesis 45:5).
(2) Abraham and Moses who realized late, and Joseph, Samuel, and David who realized early
2) The people of Hebrews chapter 11 – “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
3) John Bunyan (16 years of imprisonment) – Came to carry out a work that changed the world through the book The Pilgrim’s Progress.
▷ If you do not find God’s true plan, you will continue to fall into wounds and difficulties.

3. How do we find God’s plan?
1) The Early Church – Though they faced hardships like the label of heresy, social severance, imprisonment, being chased, and execution, they overcame the Jews, Macedonia, and Rome.
2) Do not be wounded by difficulties, and do not just let them pass.
3) Do not be discouraged, do not take reckless courage, but find the answer within God’s covenant; that is why we worship and pray.

▣ Main: Where is God’s plan?
1. The place where the original covenant is restored – the house of Simon the tanner
1) Restoration of the original gospel
(1) Genesis 3:15 Enter into the Christ who will break the authority of Satan.
(2) Genesis 6:14 “Make an ark for yourself.”
(3) Exodus 3:18 “Offer a blood sacrifice.”
(4) Isaiah 7:14 “Immanuel” – the greatest answer, the most necessary answer, the true success.
2) Restoration of the glory given to Abraham – It ended with building an altar while holding the covenant that through you and through your seed the nations will be blessed and none will be able to stand against you.
3) Establish a secret bartizan and live as a witness.

2. The place where what Christ has given is restored
1) The platform of the throne came into being – bartizan
2) The watchtower of the throne came into being – journey
3) The 300% answer of the throne arose – guidepost

3. The plan that saves the age
1) Why was God’s plan for Cornelius? – Because God’s plan was for Rome.
2) Why Rome? – Because within it are the 237 nations.
3) Why the 237 nations? – Because within them are the 5,000 tribes.

▣ Conclusion: The promise given to the people who will proclaim the gospel and to the church
1. The ten secrets
1) Survive under any circumstance – Total depravity: human beings have no condition by which they can be saved. God gave the Christ. This salvation cannot be blocked. Those who are saved cannot be destroyed.
2) Spiritual eyes that overcome the physical things
3) Since we go to the summit, there is no competition
4) Go into what is absolutely impossible and do it by God’s power

2. When you find God’s absolute plan, that is when the work begins – The reason churches in the world are closing is because they are in a place that is not God’s plan.

3. Job, who found the answer within hardship
1) “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Let me not blame the Lord for this.”
2) “My Redeemer lives, and when I meet the Lord I shall meet Him outside of my flesh.”
3) “God’s purpose is unchanging; He has many such things with Him. After He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

4. While worshiping, find God’s plan.
1) Wounds are spiritual cancer; there is an answer in the problem.
2) Spiritual sickness – when you gain strength, you become a spiritual person of mission.
3) Remnants use the past as a platform; the sick must believe in God’s power. There is another world.

Hymn
Calling
Kwon Jung Min

Lord, hear my prayer as I look back,
Upon my past and see my life today.
Would You open my eyes to see
Your plans for me?

Lord, as I hold onto Your covenant,
And pray in faith with Your Word,
Would You give to me the blessing of meeting
In my every step?

O Lord, in the trials help me to see
Your plans for me,
And give thanks unto Your name.
O Lord, pour Your grace into my heart and let it flow,

Let my love be renewed once again.
Let my heart break from within,
As I look out on this world.
Would You show me the only thing they need
Is Your Gospel, Lord?

And for all of my life,
Let my will be tied to Your desire.
Let me raise up the remnant,
To answer their calling.

Prayer · Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus

Benediction
