When Is the Power of God Revealed?

Matthew 28:18-20. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

To experience the power and blessings of God, you must first know who Jesus really is. This means you must understand where you came from, what you must do in life, and where you will go when you leave the earth.

Mankind was created in the image of God to enjoy perfect fellowship with Him (Genesis 1:27). But because of sin, the image of God was destroyed, and spiritual death came to everyone (Genesis 3:1-6, Ephesian 2:1).

As a result, failures, death, and suffering came into the world and became a permanent part of life (Genesis 3:11-20). People spend their entire lives in this world under the power of the devil (Acts 10:38) and return home—heaven or hell (Luke 16:19-31).

Compelled by His great love for us, God came to this world to restore His image in us by destroying the enemy, the devil (1 John 3:8). He is Jesus Christ, our Lord. Jesus is both God and man (John 1:14, Philippians 2:6-10). Our problems have been solved when we receive and believe Jesus as the Christ (Matthew 11:28-29).

From now on, begin to fight three critical battles. First, fight the battle against yourself by entrusting your present circumstances to God and discovering His perfect plans for your life (Romans 8:28-29). You must seek not your will but God’s will as in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Completely surrender your life to him. Your own stubbornness and thinking are of no benefit to you. The Truth is Jesus Christ, and He is holy. Therefore, living a godly life in Christ will completely set you free (John 8:32).

Also, begin to fight the battle against Satan trying to deceive you in the last days. You cannot defeat Satan on your own, but only through the power of Jesus Christ. God has given you the authority from above (John 1:12). Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). Even the demons bow before His authority (Mark 1:27). The reason why Jesus appeared was to destroy the devil’s work (1 John 3:8). God promised to answer your prayer when you pray by the authority of Jesus’ name (John 16:24).

Lastly, begin to fight the battle against the world. To this end, you must be led by the Holy Spirit. The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, will be with you forever (John 14:16). He will teach you and remind you of all things (John 14:26-27). You have received the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and you know the truth (1 John 2:20). Wherever the Holy Spirit comes, there comes the kingdom of God (Matthew 12:28). Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus promised(Acts 1:8).

Stop looking for only the physical manifestation of the power of God, like miracles and signs. The power of God already appeared in your life when you became a child of God, and the power of sin has been broken. God has forgiven all your sins, and His power began working in your life.

From now on, seek God’s will amid troubles and hardships. Discover the purpose of God in your present circumstances. When you pray for strength from above in Jesus’ name, the power of the throne of the Triune God will come upon you, and you will be victorious in all circumstances.

Stop looking for happiness in this world. Turn your heart to the Author of all happiness, Jesus Christ. Stop living as a person of religion. Start living as a child of God. Lay the foundation of your life on Christ alone. Make Christ your King and Lord. And God will heal your spirit, soul, mind, heart, and body by the power that raised Christ from the dead.

You now have only one purpose in life—fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by the power of God in this generation and the coming age, which is “making disciples of all nations.” Do not worry about anything. You have been given the ultimate promise: “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Prayer. Father, I thank You for working powerfully through the Holy Spirit. Heal my spirit, soul, mind, heart, and body by the power of your word. Fill me with Your Spirit so I may stand as Christ’s witness throughout the day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How Should You Begin From Here?

John 17:11-12. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

Now that you are saved, you have received complete spiritual deliverance and freedom from the power of Satan, sin, and hell. Then, while you live here on earth, how should you live?

You must first keep in mind that Satan exists until the end of the age. Only Scripture reveals the reality of Satan. He was one of the chosen Cherubs who spread his wings over God’s throne. God put him on His holy mountain, and he walked among the jewels that sparkled like fire (Ezekiel 28:14).

According to the Book of Isaiah, Lucifer, or the Morning Star, fell from the sky. All the nations on earth had bowed before him in the past, but he was cut down. Why? He had always told himself, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:13-14). Filled with pride, he rebelled against God, along with one-third of the angels.

He is also known as the great dragon, the ancient serpent, or the devil, who has been leading the whole world astray (Revelation 12:9). This ancient serpent appeared to Adam and Eve and deceived them, and forced them to turn their back on God. “You will be like God,” he lied to them, planting the seed of unbelief in them.

The moment man sided with him, they lost all spiritual blessings and authority God had given them. Since that time, everyone has been born spiritually dead, completely overtaken by the power of Satan, curses, and hell (John 8:44).

As a result, people have been subject to the ways of this world and the devil—the commander of the kingdom of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God, following the passionate desires and inclinations of their sinful nature, subject to God’s anger (Ephesians 2:2-3).

The devil masquerades himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14) and mobilizes demons and evil spirits to take over the people’s spirit, soul, mind, and body (Mark 5:1-10, Acts 16:16-18).

Using politics, economy, and culture, “the god of this age,” Satan, blinds the minds of the people so that they cannot see the light of the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4-5). His kingdom is highly organized and carries out all kinds of evil schemes against the believers and the church of Christ (Ephesians 6:11-13) and continues to attack them on every front (Ephesians 6:16).

But the head of Satan had already been crushed when Christ died on the cross and rose again from the dead: “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel” (Genesis 3:15).

The devil is filled with fury because he knows that his time is short and aims to cause as much destruction as possible before he is finally sent to hell (Revelation 12:12, 1 Peter 5:8). When the gospel reaches all nations, the end will come, and Satan will be completely locked up in hell (Matthew 24:24, Matthew 25:41).

Until then, you must always be alert as Satan will use evil spirits, spirits of deception, spirits of false prophets, spirits of heresy, and demons to try to make believers stumble. He will also try to destroy your family (Matthew 12:28-29) and roam around the believers and try to devour them (1 Peter 5:7-8).

Once you allow a demon to enter your mind and heart, he will return with demons seven times more potent, causing diseases and various physical issues—incurable, unknown illnesses (Matthew 12:43-45, Mt 8:15-17).

The devil takes over people’s minds (Mk 5:1-10, Ac 16:16-18) and looks for dry, arid places to rest, targeting those complaining and complacent (Matthew 12:43-44). He enters and lives in “empty houses,” targeting those feeling empty and hopeless (Matthew 12:45).

The devil hates believers praying and understanding the truth of Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) and fears believers enjoying the blessing of worship and living for evangelism.

So, know the devil’s evil schemes against you. He will try to make you follow the desires of your flesh rather than what God desires of you (Matthew 4:2-3). He will try to promote worldly ambition (Matthew 4:5-6) and force idolatry (Matthew 4:8-9). He will try everything to keep you from worshiping God alone.

Remember, Jesus overcame the devil’s temptations by the Word of God. This is why it is so critical for you to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17). Mediate, memorize, and confirm the Word throughout the day (Psalm 1:1-3).

Always be on the offensive against the devil with the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Stand firm and do not let anything move you. Resist the devil by submitting to God and His Word, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). You can overcome the aggression of Satan through prayer in all circumstances (Ephesians 6:18).

Therefore, there are five things you must remember. First, you must know Jesus Christ correctly (Matthew 16:13-20). Jesus is the Christ. He is the True King who crushed the head of Satan. He is the True Priest who removed all disasters and calamities caused by sin. He is the True Prophet who destroyed the background of hell and paved a living and new way back to God.

Put Jesus Christ at the center of your heart, home, and all areas of your life (John 2:1-11). Continue to deepen your faith in the power of God (Galatians 2:20). When you confess and testify the name and power of Jesus Christ as the priority of your life, you will be victorious at all times. When Jesus Christ becomes the Lord of your life, the Holy Spirit will work powerfully in you regardless of your ability, knowledge, background, and circumstances (Acts 1:8).

Cast off all your anxiety, problems, and your burdens of sin. Get rid of stubbornness and throw away negative attitudes. Do not rely on your own intuition and experiences. Cast aside all your unbelief because the Holy Spirit in you is perfect.

Finally, to stand firm against the devil, you will need strength from above. Enter the throne of heaven with confidence and worship the Triune God like Abraham (Genesis 13:18). Experience the presence of God as you pray continuously in your daily schedule like Joseph (Genesis 39:2).

Pray with other brothers and sisters, holding to God’s absolute covenant (Acts 1:14). When faced with crises, devote yourself to prayer (Acts 12:1-25). Most of all, converse with your Father 24/7 (Psalm 23:1-6, Psalm 119:10-12). Remember that your prayer is powerful and effective (James 5:16).

Prayer. Father, open my eyes to see the devil’s evil schemes against me and the world. I invite the Triune God to the center of my life as my King and Lord. Govern all my thoughts and ways through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Now that I Am Saved, How Have I Changed?

1 Corinthians 2:10,14. But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Many believers seek external changes in their lives as evidence of salvation. They are fooled by the things they can see without being able to see what God has freely given to them (1 Corinthians 2:12). But the spiritual blessings should come first: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2, NKJV).

They do not understand “the things that came from the Spirit of God.” They do not see real changes God has brought to their lives through Christ. As a result, they place condition before identity, doing before being, fruit before enjoyment, and evidence before promise. What are, then, the real changes we must see? What has been revealed to us by the Spirit of God? The gospel.

God did not spare His own Son to save us. He became man, shed His blood on the cross, rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now lives in us, leading and empowering us through the Holy Spirit. This is the gospel.

However, most people do not understand what salvation means. They believe they can be saved just by being religious (John 3:1-10). Religion, however, is not the gospel because it is made by man. Even though people intend to do good works, their good deeds are not considered good at all in the sight of God, as “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6).

Some believe that by going to church, they can be saved. Simply attending church is worthless and only piles up more burdens and makes things worse (Matthew 12:43-45). Some believe that by being devout and zealous, they can meet the standard of salvation. Many people hold onto strong convictions or philosophies. But this leads to only emptiness and failures in life.

Some people even believe they can be saved by memorizing and reciting Bible verses and religious chants or praying earnestly. All of these only produce temporary, external changes. In the end, they become weary and heavy-laden (Matthew 11:28-30).

What is then the state of being saved? This is an inner spiritual transformation. The Holy Spirit lives in you and governs your life. And there is life in the Holy Spirit: “Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).

You cannot enter the kingdom of God unless you are born again by water and the Spirit (John 3:3-5). The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, will not leave you nor can be cast out from you: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17).

When you understand the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, you will confirm your salvation (Romans 8:2), fully meet the righteous requirement of the law (Romans 8:4), and belong to Christ (Romans 8:9). You will also be able to discover God’s will, blessings, and grace (1 Corinthians 2:10-14).

You will realize that you are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16). Nothing can destroy you. The Holy Spirit will correct you (Galatians 5:16-18), guide you through the Word (John 14:26), give you peace (John 14:27), answer your prayer (Romans 8:26), work out all things for your good according to His will (Romans 8:28).

Four fundamental changes happened to you who possess life, the Holy Spirit. Your identity has been changed from a child of Satan to a child of God (John 8:44, 1 John 3:2, John 5:24). Nothing can change who you are in Christ.

You have also changed from a slave to sin to a servant of God, completely set free from the power of sin (Romans 6:17, Romans 6:22). Let nothing fool you any longer. Live for the glory of God.

You have passed from death to life (Ephesians 2:1, Ephesians 2:5). God changed your permanent address from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. You have been set from the oppression of Satan to the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:2, Galatians 5:18). The Holy Spirit will never abandon you, but He will guide and sanctify you (John 14:16, 26; Galatians 5:16-18).

Remember, no one can destroy you who are in Christ. No one can snatch you from the hand of God. Let’s confirm this marvelous truth:

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:31-39)

Abide in the love of God that is unconditional, infinite, constant, and irresistible. You will then see the fruit of the Spirit in your life (Galatians 5:22-23): love, joy, peace (toward God); patience, kindness, goodness (toward others); faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (toward yourself).

When the people see you bringing good things out of the good stored up in your heart, they will see the light of the gospel and praise your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). Ask God to fill your mind with the mind of Christ. Always speak faith, hope, and love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer. Father, open my eyes to see the things that came from Your Spirit. Help me understand the true changes since Jesus came into my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Why Don’t I Have Assurance?

1 John 5:11-13. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Many believers live with incorrect assurance or no assurance at all. They draw assurance from their own thoughts and standards. They seek assurance from others and the world.

But the assurance based on anything other than the One who gives the ultimate assurance leads to confusion and insecurity. To seek assurance, people devote their lives to foolish things such as religion, legalism, and upright living because they do not have assurance from God Himself.

As a result, they become an easy target of the devil: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:7-8).

Without being assured of God’s perfect love, they get overtaken by fear of punishment: “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18). Why then do they go on living without this assurance?

First, many believers do not know the new life of the saved. A person who has been saved has become a child of God. How? by accepting and believing Jesus as Savior and Lord: “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

In that person lives Jesus guarding and leading their lives: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelation 3:20).

The Holy Spirit lives within them regardless of their status and ability (1 Corinthians 3:16). Nothing can destroy them. Nothing can change their identity as children of God: “Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, ‘Jesus be cursed,’ and no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:3). This is true life (Romans 8:2).

Many believers are also ignorant of the condition of unbelievers. Because the unbelievers do not have the Son of God, they do not have life (1 John 5:11-12). They remain in the same condition as Adam and Eve, who have fallen and been separated from life.

Satan controls their spirits (John 8:44, Acts 10:38). They may acquire much but cannot find peace (Matthew 11:28-29). They may achieve success, but troubles never cease (Matthew 12:25). Their bodies are controlled and led by Satan without even knowing it (Ephesians 2:2-3). They are bound to face various issues with their bodies and physical problems (Acts 8:4-8). They will also have troubles in their hearts and minds (Acts 16:16-18). They are destined to eternal condemnation in hell (Luke 16:19-31).

In addition, many believers do not know the blessings of the saved. The saved children of God have been completely free from the curse and condemnation caused by sin (Ephesians 2:1), including original sin, sins of their fathers, and the actual sins motivated by their sinful nature that came from original sin.

Thus, we must remember the most powerful testimony: “He who has the Son has life” (1 John 5:12). We have been immediately set free from the burdens of the world and the power of Satan (Ephesians 2:2). We have been eternally set free from the background of hell (Ephesians 2:6). And we will leave our testimonies for generations to come (Ephesians 2:7).

Some believers do not know the privileges of the saved (Matthew 16:13-20). The privilege of proclaiming the gospel is given only to those who believe and confess that Jesus is the Christ. Jesus promised to make us as firm as a rock and establish His church on the foundation of our confession.

The privilege of overcoming the power of Satan is given only to those who are born of God. Thus, we must be ready for our spiritual battle against the enemy and stand our ground until the end (1 Peter 5:8, James 4:7). God will soon crush Satan under our feet (Romans 16:20).

The privilege of answered prayer is given only to the saints. The answers to the prayer of the unsaved come from Satan’s limited power under God’s permissive will: “The Lord works out everything to its proper end—even the wicked for a day of disaster” (Proverbs 16:4).

Therefore, we must use the keys Jesus promised: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19). Your prayer can move the throne of heaven. That is one of the greatest privileges God has given to you.

Finally, many believers do not know the way of life of the saved. The children of God must be led by the Holy Spirit (John 14:26-27). To that end, cast off all your anxiety because God cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Stop trusting yourself. Start trusting the One who loved you and died for you.

Only then can you be perfectly led by the Holy Spirit as Paul confessed: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

Get rid of any hidden motives. These motives may bring temporary success but will eventually bring failures because the Spirit of God cannot be deceived. Disasters came upon Ananias and Sapphira when they tried to “lie to the Holy Spirit” (Acts 5:1-10).

If you desire to be led by the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ must be the center of your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). Prayer must be the highest priority in your daily life (Acts 16:13,16). And your life itself must be a proclamation of the gospel (Acts 1:8). Let the Holy Spirit take care of your long-standing problems.

Now that you are saved, declare daily: “I am a child of God, and I possess eternal life.” Do not doubt when you pray: “God hears and answers my prayer when I pray in Jesus’ name.”

Do not be shaken by unexpected trials and temptations by declaring: “I know my True King Jesus overcame the world and now lives in me. I will come out as a victor in all circumstances.”

When the devil tries to trap you with guilt and shame, boldly rebuke him: “I know my True Priest Jesus died on the cross, crushing the power of curses of sin over my family line, and now He lives in me. I declare freedom from the law of sin and death.”

And press on with the ultimate promise of your True Prophet Jesus: “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the assurance You have given me through the Word. Fill me with Your Spirit that I may stand firm on Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Why Is Jesus the Only Way for Us?

1 John 3:8. He who does what is sinful is of the devil because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

The world is driven by pluralism and liberal theology, which deny the uniqueness of Christ. They believe and preach the message that all religions are the same. But they do not know the essence of sin or original sin.

Original sin is the fundamental issue that touches everyone regardless of who they are and what they do. People are ignorant of the one who initiated mankind’s rebellion against God—the devil who “has been sinning from the beginning” (1 John 3:8).

Today’s Word clearly states that sin and the devil are inseparable. Sin is the displacement from the glory of God: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). It is the spiritual location completely cut off from the Creator of life. This is the place of eternal death, curse, and hell.

In this state of sin, everyone follows the “ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient” (Ephesians 2:2).

People do not understand the difference between religion and the gospel, between law and the gospel. They certainly do not see the reality of their own spiritual condition, trying to hide their long-standing spiritual problems and continual failures in life. And they do not acknowledge the reality of hell.

Worst yet, today’s churches, which have been entrusted with the gospel to save the world, conformed themselves to the pattern of this world and stopped teaching and proclaiming the message that Jesus is the only way to escape from the power of Satan, sin, and hell.

Unfortunately, most people cannot distinguish salvation from religion. They think that all religions are the same. Upright living and good deeds are the goals and means of all religions.

Christianity, however, is not a religion but life itself. Religion is created by mankind, but the gospel is given by God. Religion is about mankind searching for God, but the gospel is about God reaching out to mankind.

The standard of religion is mankind’s effort, but that of the gospel is a gift of God for salvation given to mankind by His grace: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

The method of religion is mankind’s achievement, but that of the gospel is faith in the One who has finished everything on the cross. Religion brings only external changes, but the gospel gives life: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

The people of religion try to cover themselves with the things of the world and their religious lifestyle, but the people of the gospel have nothing to hide and follow the path of honesty that is straight and true (Isaiah 26:7).

The people of religion will experience even more trouble than before: “Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation” (Matthew 12:45).

But the people of the gospel will enjoy peace: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:26-27).

In all circumstances, the people of the gospel will find rest: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matthew 11:28-29).

Eventually, the people of religion will be led to destruction: “Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things” (Philippians 3:19).

But the people of the gospel live in the kingdom of God here on earth and will go home to heaven to be with their king Jesus when they leave this life: “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:20-21).

Jesus clearly distinguished between the two when He said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate, broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). Many will choose religion, and very few will choose the gospel.

Most people also do not realize the state of the unsaved. Original sin is the state of the unsaved (Romans 3:10, 23). This means that they are still in the hands of Satan, who appeared to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:1-6).

They remain in the state of condemnation, being held by the spirit of Satan, under the power of curses, driven by idols, superstition, and religion, facing continual failures in life, and suffering from all kinds of mental issues and physical problems (Matthew 8:16-17), eternally condemned in hell (Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 14:1-9), and bound to pass generational curses on to their children (Exodus 20:4).

This is why there has to be only one Savior. He must be the One who has the power to defeat Satan. He must be human, clothed in the flesh (John 1:1, 14). He must not be a descendant of Adam: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).

He must be without sin (Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 3:18). A sinless person must die to pay for the price of sin (Genesis 2:17). As the evidence of His divinity, He must rise again from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-5). This person is Jesus Christ. Only Jesus, who is God himself, could defeat Satan’s power and save mankind. And His power is evident even today (Acts 16:16-18).

What exactly is salvation? It is the solution to the problem of the past—freedom from sin that causes destruction (Ephesians 2:1), including original sin, sins of the father, and the actual sins we commit motivated by our sinful nature that came from original sin.

Salvation is the solution to the present problem—freedom from Satan’s power (Ephesians 2:2). Salvation is also the solution to the future problem—being seated in heaven (Ephesians 2:6).

God saved us so that His kindness to us who belong to Christ Jesus would clearly show for all time to come the amazing richness of His grace (Ephesians 2:7). This is the reality of the salvation we received.

If you experience the uniqueness of Christ in your life, you will see your True King crushing Satan under your feet wherever you go. You will see your True Priest destroying the power of curses from sin in people’s lives. You will also experience your True Prophet, saving lives from the background of hell.

God made you a witness of all these for all nations. So, discover answers only in the gospel. Experience a life best lived—the life of the evangelist. You will see a dramatic transformation in your life like Paul:

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.” (2 Corinthians 4:7-10).

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the only way back to You, Christ Jesus, Your Son. The only power over Satan. The only Savior for my sin. Use my life today to proclaim the Good News that Jesus is the Christ, the only way for the world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How Can You Meet God?

John 14:6. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Most people do not realize that mankind cannot meet God by any means. And yet, they believe they have something that will enable them to meet with God, including religion, conviction, philosophy, and morality.

Even believers try to meet God somehow through their efforts. As a result, they fail to experience the essence of the gospel: God came to meet and be with us. That is why the believers ask for the things unbelievers do. They fail to enjoy the greatest blessing of all, Immanuel (God with us). Not only that, they fail to experience the most incredible power of all, the filling of the Holy Spirit, and the most incredible privilege of all, living as Christ’s witnesses.

No one can meet God because He is spirit (John 4:24). We cannot see Him with our physical eyes. God is not limited by anything. Anything we limit cannot be God, but it is an idol (1 Corinthians 10:20). God is all-present, all-knowing, and all-powerful. Salvation is meeting God (Isaiah 40:18-31).

Because we have a physical body, we cannot see God. Our spirit is limited by our own physical body, and separation of spirit from the body is called death. That is why we may be saved only when we are still in our physical body (Luke 16:19-31).

To save mankind, God put on the physical body and came to this earth (John 1:14). He opened a new and living way for us to meet with him. He is Jesus Christ. Jesus is both God and man. He is without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Receiving and believing Jesus as the Christ is the only way to meet God (John 1:12, Revelation 3:20). When we receive Jesus as the Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us. This is called salvation (John 14:15, 26-27).

When Jesus comes into our life, we are eternally set free from the power of Satan, sin, and hell. Not only that, God gives us the authority to bind the forces of darkness (Luke 10:19). We have been given the privilege to approach His throne in prayer anytime (Hebrews 4:16).

Whenever we pray in Jesus’ name, God mobilizes His angel armies to assist us (Hebrews 1:14) and works powerfully through the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). Unfortunately, many believers do not believe in this amazing spiritual reality, thus living like unbelievers.

But for you, hold on to the evidence that God is with you. The Holy Spirit, who lives in you, will lead you and sanctify and guide you by the Word of God (John 14:26-27).

The Word is living and active and able to heal your soul and spirit, heart and mind, and even your body (Hebrews 4:12). When you receive the Word, your spirit will be revived (Psalm 119:25). When you confess your wrongdoings, you will be led by the Holy Spirit (Psalm 66:18, Galatians 5:16-18). When you focus on prayer regularly, seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness, you will experience the power of God displayed in your life.

Remember, Satan will constantly try to keep you from experiencing the blessings God has given to you. That is why God commanded you to continue to be filled with the Holy Spirit, that is, with the Word concerning Christ (Ephesians 5:18).

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, God will give you the power to overcome yourself, the world, and Satan (Acts 1:8). He will open the door so you may testify to the Way and the Truth and the Life.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for opening my eyes to see the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Help me not to rely on my own thoughts and my own ways. Help me confirm the evidence of Your presence in my life today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Why Can’t People Meet God?

Acts 4:12. Salvation is found in no one else for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

Many people say, “There is no God.” But Scripture says they are fools, their hearts are corrupt, and their actions are evil (Psalm 14:1). No matter what they think or say, the truth does not change. It is not that God does not exist, but that they have not met Him, the Creator of all things.

And yet, people do not know the reason for their unhappiness—the eternal separation from their Creator. They do not realize that life apart from God is subject to death, disasters, and calamities. Why, then, can’t people meet God? They have left God and cannot find ways to return to Him.

As a result, their spirits died (Ephesians 2:1). Spiritual death means that the Spirit of God is not with them (Genesis 2:7; Genesis 2:16-17). After the Fall (Genesis 3:1-6), spiritual death came upon everyone, and Satan’s spirit began to control them (1 Corinthians 2:12).

People became ignorant of God’s will, and their knowledge and wisdom darkened (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12). Nevertheless, people have been striving to meet God. Because God made only mankind a spiritual being, only people instinctively try to find God (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Some people think they can meet God if they are sincere and upright. Some people believe they can meet God by following a religion, so they diligently follow all the rules (Matthew 12:43-45). But people cannot meet God because they do not understand the fundamental problems of mankind: Satan, sin, and hell.

Finding a solution to the problem one cannot understand is impossible. As a corpse cannot move, a spiritually dead person’s efforts are useless. An unsaved person’s efforts only produce external changes. Even though their efforts may be noble or good, they are not worthy of salvation.

There is nothing on earth good enough to get to heaven. The person who has not received salvation cannot meet God. Without receiving salvation, people cannot know God. Without being born again, people cannot see God (John 3:3-5).

Salvation means freedom from the hand of Satan. Salvation means coming out of the bondage of sin. Salvation means freedom from the power of hell. No one can earn salvation by any means. Human efforts cannot give life to a spirit. No one on earth has the power to defeat Satan (Acts 4:12). Salvation is God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Knowing we have lost ways to return to Him, God came to meet with us instead. Jesus said, “I am the way” (John 14:6). Jesus opened a new and living way back to God by His death and resurrection, crushing the power of the devil who has been keeping us from meeting with God.

By sacrificing His own Son, God reconciled us to Himself. He did not want us to remain as His enemies. Because of what Christ has done on the cross, we now have peace with God through Christ (Romans 5:1). The Holy Spirit lives in us (John 14:16), leads us (John 14:26), and tells us what is yet to come (John 16:13).

God has also entrusted us with the task of bringing people into peace with Him. He gave us the message of reconciliation to tell people. So, we have been sent to speak for Christ. It is like God calling people through us. We speak for Christ when we deliver the message of reconciliation to the world. There is only one name to preach, Jesus the Christ, who had no sin, but God made Him become sin so that in Him we could be right with God (2 Corinthians 5:18-21).

Prayer. Father, I thank You for opening a new and living way to You through Christ and giving me the name above all names, Jesus. Fill me with the Holy Spirit, so I may continue to deliver the message of reconciliation to those living under the power of the devil. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Why Are People Unhappy?

Romans 3:23. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

How can you tell whether you enjoy the gospel to the fullest extent? Isn’t that why Jesus had to come? He said, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). He came to make the gospel your gospel. He wants you to experience the true happiness found in the answer and power of the gospel 24/7.

But are you truly happy? What makes you happy? What makes you sad? What is the condition of your happiness? Does it have anything to do with your present circumstances? What do you do to maintain your happiness? Do you fear that you might lose it?

True happiness has nothing to do with the present reality of your life or the prospect of your future. It has everything to do with who you are—the you God made. In the beginning, God intended the fundamental happiness for mankind when He created them, that is, being with Him. He made mankind a spiritual being in His own image and blessed them to rule over His creation (Genesis 1:27-28). The true and only source of happiness, God Himself, was with them.

God breathed into us His breath of life (Genesis 2:17). This is the breath of life God commanded Ezekiel to call: This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army (Ezekiel 37:9-10).

The resurrected Christ breathed on them and said, Receive the Holy Spirit (John 20:22). On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit breathed into His church: Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting (Acts 2:1). We were dead in our transgressions and sins, but God made us alive in Christ so that we may breathe again.

God placed the first man and woman in the position of true happiness in the Garden of Eden. So, their existence itself was happiness. As the trees must be rooted in the ground and the birds must fly in the air, they had to be with God to have, enjoy, and maintain happiness.

Why, then, are people unable to find true happiness? Many are suffering spiritually, emotionally, and physically, driven by the problems of family, health, finances, mental issues, and the future. In desperate pursuit of happiness, they turn to various religions and lifestyles, only to fall deeper into despair. Why?

Today’s Word states that people have been separated from God. They have fallen to a place completely cut off from the glory of God. The Bible calls this displacement sin, also called original sin. People are unhappy because of their position, not because of their problems. No one can be truly happy while they remain in this position.

No one is righteous (Romans 3:10). Everything people do does not come from faith, which Scripture calls sin (Romans 14:23). As a result, the entire human race fell into the state of sin and death, and all kinds of suffering followed, including serious mental issues such as depression (Matthew 11:28), worthless and unbalanced lifestyles (Matthew 12:25), physical illnesses (Acts 8:7-8, Matthew 8:16-17). All of these are the result of the spiritual problem stated in Scripture. People have turned to religions, superstitions, philosophy, and upright living to find good news.

Scripture tells us when this unhappiness began. It began with the first couple, Adam and Eve. The cause: unbelief and disobedience (Genesis 3:1-6). The consequence: eternal separation from God (Genesis 3:1-6), life under the power of sin and curses (Romans 3:23), life with the identity of children of the devil (John 8:44). Tragically, this unhappiness continues even now (Ephesians 2:1-2), continually increasing (Matthew 11:28-29). It worsens despite all human efforts to pursue true happiness (Matthew 12:43-45).

But why are people still unable to solve this problem? Scripture reveals the instigator of all these—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan (Revelation 12:9). He controls evil spirits and demons to bring disasters and calamities. When did he appear? The angel Lucifer became proud and rebelled against God (Ezekiel 28:14-19).

Then, there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against Lucifer (also known as the great dragon) and the angels who followed him. The dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven. Since then, the devil has been leading the whole world astray ever since (Revelation 12:7-9). All he does is steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Eventually, however, he will be locked up in hell (Matthew 25:41).

If one remains separated from God, that person is destined to live as a child of the devil (John 8:44), worshiping idols (Exodus 20:4-5), suffering mentally (Matthew 11:28) and physically (Acts 8:4-8), eternally condemned in hell (Luke 16:19-31), and, in the end, leaving generational curses to future generations (Matthew 27:25). Nothing in this world can give you the true happiness you are looking for. The happiness in this world is only temporary and of the flesh, causing greater unhappiness.

Compelled by His great love for us, God sent the One with the position to solve all our problems. While we were still sinners, He died for us to move us into the position God had placed us in the first place (Romans 5:8). To that end, He destroyed what the devil had done to us. He completely removed the power of sin and death from us. His name is Jesus. His position: the Christ, the Anointed One.

When God raised Christ from the dead, He raised us from death along with Christ and seated us with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Restoring our position is called salvation. It was a gift of God to us when we believed Jesus as the Christ. It has been given to us by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).

So do not let anything deceive you about your position in Christ, the most secure place in the universe. God is reminding you once again: Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord (Deuteronomy 33:29). Discover your true happiness only in the gospel: Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 1:1-4).

Prayer. Father, I thank You for the gospel: Jesus Christ our Lord. You have given me Christ, the kingdom of God, and the Holy Spirit. Through this gospel, I possess life, mission, and power from Your throne. Thank You for calling me so good, precious, and honored in Your sight and bringing me to a place of true happiness. Help me continue to remain in Your covenant, gospel 24, and enjoy Your covenant through prayer 24. Help me not to be deceived by the enemy and the voices of this world. May the fruit of the gospel—life, re-creation, and eternity—fill my mission field and the lives of those You have entrusted to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Complete Covenant of God

Acts 1:1-8. In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The covenant of God given to us is complete. It lacks nothing, and no one can change it. And His covenant will be fulfilled. Yet we often ask what we need to do. But what is more important is to know who we are and where we should be.

What we do won’t matter if we are in the wrong place. But if we are in the complete covenant of God, we will realize that our present circumstances are not that important. We will see spiritual facts beyond our present reality.

Joseph experienced the complete covenant of God, and he was always at peace—whether in his father’s house in Canaan, in Potiphar’s house as a slave, in prison, or in the palace as governor of Egypt. He experienced God’s presence wherever he was and testified to the living God.

That is why our circumstances do not matter as long as we are in the complete covenant. When we enjoy the blessing of being with God, we will discover His absolute plans wherever we are.

Does doing well in life guarantee success? Absolutely not. If we do not enjoy the spiritual blessings God has already given us, we will eventually fail, even if we are successful by the world’s standards. But if you are within God’s complete covenant like Joseph, then He will give you true success, whether you do well in life or not. Being with God is success.

Throughout history, God has given, reminded, and restored His complete covenant through Christ. Only the True King could destroy the devil’s work. Only the True Priest could remove the curses that came through sin. Only the True Prophet could open a new and living way to God.

Jesus finished the work of Christ. He resolved all of our fundamental problems through His death and resurrection. He settled all the problems of our past, present, and future. He set us free from the law of sin and death. He lives in us now through the Holy Spirit. He works powerfully to show His kindness to us who belong to Christ and to display the richness of His grace for all time to come.

When you hold onto only Christ, you will experience and enjoy the kingdom of God. You will see answers to all your problems. You will be renewed in your conflicts and experience God’s power in your crises. You will see that God allowed your problems and conflicts and crises while He was with you.

You will also realize that what others call a curse may actually be a blessing. God’s plans are not to harm you but to give you hope and a future. You will enjoy spiritual fellowship with Jesus every day.

Nothing happens by accident in the lives of those chosen by God. He knows your situation. He loves you more than you can imagine. He plans and allows all things in your life for a reason.

So trust in the God whose ways and thoughts are higher than yours. Live by faith in the One who loved you and gave Himself for you. That is life in the kingdom of God.

The only thing left is to experience the power of the Holy Spirit and go to the ends of the earth as Christ’s witness. Open your eyes and see the world covered by darkness.

As a child of God, you have been given the anointing of a spiritual king. In the name of Jesus, break every stronghold of the enemy. With the spiritual authority of a priest, bring healing to those under sin’s curse. As a spiritual prophet, deliver the message of reconciliation to those trapped in darkness.

Discover your ends of the earth right where you are. Wherever God sends you, that is your mission field. You have one life, and it’s too short to live for anything less than God’s greatest desire: to save this generation and pass the covenant to the next.

Remain in the complete covenant of God. Go deep into prayer, enjoying His promise, until nothing and no one and no circumstance can shake you.

Prayer. Father, I thank You for Your complete covenant: Christ, the kingdom, and the Holy Spirit. Help me remain in Your covenant. Send me to the ends of the earth as Christ’s witness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Greatest Blessing of God: The Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

At the end of His public ministry, Jesus made one final promise: to send us “another Counselor,” the Holy Spirit, to be with us forever (John 14:16). Jesus explained that the Holy Spirit would teach us all things and remind us of everything He had said (John 14:26). The Spirit would guide us into all truth and reveal what is yet to come (John 16:13).

After the resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples and breathed on them, saying, “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). Then, just before He ascended into heaven, He gave one last instruction: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8).

As promised, the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1–4), empowering the Early Church to proclaim the gospel boldly to the nations gathered in Jerusalem. From that day forward, everyone who heard and believed in the name of Jesus received the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).

Why do we need the filling of the Holy Spirit? Because we need a different strength—not of this world—to overcome the world and the schemes of Satan. When people of faith experienced this strength, they saw their hardships through a new lens and overcame the scars of their past.

For Joseph, the death of his mother became a stepping stone for standing alone. Slavery in Potiphar’s house couldn’t separate him from God’s presence (Genesis 39:2). Even Pharaoh recognized the Spirit of God in him (Genesis 41:38). Moses, though raised as Pharaoh’s grandson, encountered God at the burning bush. There, he understood the mystery of the “blood sacrifice” and led the Israelites out of slavery (Exodus 3:18).

Samuel, who grew up alone in the temple, became the leader who restored the church and led Israel into national repentance through the Mizpah movement (1 Samuel 7:3–17). He passed on God’s absolute covenant to the next generation. David, in his season of isolation as a shepherd, developed the heart and skills of a king. God’s Spirit came powerfully upon him (1 Samuel 16:13), and he eventually led Israel with integrity and wisdom (Psalm 78:70–72).

Elisha, an ordinary farmer, asked for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit and went on to save both Israel and Aram (2 Kings 2:9). He invested his life into the next generation through the Dothan movement (2 Kings 6:8–23). Isaiah, though martyred, left behind one of the greatest prophetic messages in Scripture: the message of the remnant (Isaiah 6:13).

Paul considered all suffering worth it for the sake of the gospel. He declared, “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). His only aim was to finish the race and complete the task the Lord had given him: testifying to the gospel of God’s grace (Acts 20:24).

When you focus on the power of the Holy Spirit, God will help you rediscover your true identity and calling. Why? Because we live in an age of spiritual confusion, moral collapse, and global disaster—an age controlled by Satan: “We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

But you have been given the right to become a child of God when you believed that Jesus is the Christ. You have been chosen as a remnant and commissioned as Christ’s ambassador to save the world.

You have also received authority over the forces of darkness (Luke 10:19), because we live in an age of mental and spiritual oppression. Jesus came to destroy the devil’s work (1 John 3:8), and He called you to exercise His authority to drive out demons (Mark 3:15). When this authority becomes yours by faith, it becomes power. God clothes you with His power so that you may stand firm in this age of crisis and advance His kingdom.

So why not ask today for this different strength? God has already given us the greatest gift—Christ. The greatest answer—His kingdom. The greatest blessing—the Holy Spirit. All that remains is for us to answer His call and stand as Christ’s witnesses to the ends of the earth.

Prayer. Father, fill me with the Holy Spirit today so I may stand firm as Christ’s witness to the ends of the earth. Let Your Spirit empower me to live out Your will and fulfill the mission You have entrusted to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
