「Joseph’s Bartizan」 (Ge 37:1-11)

Genesis 37:1-11

01 Jacob lived in the land where his father had stayed, the land of Canaan.
02 This is the account of Jacob’s family line. Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them.
03 Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him.
04 When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.
05 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.
06 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had:
07 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.”
08 His brothers said to him, “Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?” And they hated him all the more because of his dream and what he had said.
09 Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”
10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”
11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

Summary

God promised from the very beginning that He would always be with us, even at the end. So Always is something that is not well understood. That is prayer and it is the gospel. You need to know Always to know the absolute bartizan and to go on the absolute journey.

The second word is With. In the world there will be things that are misunderstood, things that are understood, this kind of person, that kind of person, this kind of event, that kind of event. Certainly within those there is one blessing of God. It is not about enduring — you must be able to see it. Joseph, while being dragged away as a slave, caught the vision of world missions. The moment he was placed in Potiphar’s household, he had already begun to enjoy the answer. That is With.

“Bartizan” (Mission)

When Joseph was young, his mother died giving birth to his younger brother. Joseph began to pray over this. That actually became the bartizan. So if you keep praying this prayer, a mission will come out. Answers continue from that point.

1. Genesis 37:1-11 → (Mission)

God worked on Joseph so powerfully that it came out in his dreams. A complete world evangelization came forth. During prayer, the most important thing is that the accurate mission is given.

Always with

If you are truly praying this prayer properly, the mission comes. There is no need to worry.

▷ What I do in the morning is continually enjoy the 7·7·7 prayer directed toward all of you. Where to go, who to meet — I carry all of this in prayer in the morning and get all my strength. What is even more important is that in the morning you must have confidence in your work. In the morning, you must gain strength with margin. Breathe long and slowly, just as comfortably as prayer allows.

2. Genesis 39:1-6

He was dragged away as a slave. No need to worry.

1) Missions — When going as a slave, he knew this was the path he was going on in order to do this.
2) Field — That was the field (Field). Here the evidence of God appeared.
3) WITH — This evidence came out. Later God blessed even the fields of Potiphar’s household on Joseph’s behalf.

3. Genesis 40:1-23

What is even more important — he was falsely accused and ended up in prison.

1) Persecution — In the Bible, the time when the most history happened is when persecution came.
2) Highway — This was in fact the highway. Joseph knew this. A person of prayer does not fear when problems come but finds the answer definitively, and when an answer comes, looks at what is next.
3) Genesis 40:23 — The official whose dream Joseph interpreted was released from prison. At that time Joseph asked, “When you get out, please remember me.” The Bible records, “But the chief official forgot about Joseph.” This is also the answer. This time was a very important time of Joseph being prepared.

4. Genesis 41:38

He finally gets to meet the king. This official eventually remembered Joseph. When the crisis came. The king got to meet Joseph. At that time, to meet the king was to have 237 happen, and the door to 5,000 peoples opened. That is where God sent Joseph.

1) Answer — Joseph went there and gave the answer. Is this not evangelism?
2) WITH — He said that God, who loves the king, gave him the answer that would resolve it. The king was completely moved.
3) Holy Spirit — “I have never seen anyone moved by the Spirit of the Lord to this degree” — and he appointed him as prime minister.

5. Genesis 45:1-5 — World

The day that the dream comes true has finally arrived. He conducted the evangelization movement toward the world. Doors all over the world opened and people came. The covenant was delivered there.

People and many events are not irrelevant. They become God’s blessing. The answer among answers that you possess is the fulfillment of the Word and world evangelization — that is the true answer.

Transcript

In this conference, you absolutely must be restored. God promised from the very beginning and said He would always be with us even at the very end. So now, Always is something that is not well understood. That is prayer. And that is the gospel. You need to know Always to know the absolute bartizan. Then you go on the absolute journey too. There is no need to specially create time for it. Always. So in my case, when I open my eyes in the morning, I do several hours of deep prayer continuously. While doing all my preparations. Now in the afternoon, this is the absolute journey of meeting all of you, so here I confirm God’s blessing.

The second word mentioned earlier is With. But this blessing is also nearly always missed. You need to save America and also save our area, but because you do not know these two things, it does not work. What is With? In the world there are many things that will be misunderstood and things that will be understood, everyone. This kind of person, that kind of person, lots of them. This kind of event, that kind of event will happen. Certainly within those there is one blessing of God. It is not about enduring — you must be able to see it. You must not endure. If you endure, it becomes a sickness. You must be able to see it. Joseph, while being dragged away as a slave, had already caught the world mission vision. The moment he was placed in Potiphar’s household, he had already begun to enjoy the answer. Looking at that is called With. So the unbeliever saw it and said With. “God is with you.” That is what they said. “God is with you in everything you do.” That is what they said. This is very important.

So in my view, almost all of it, simply put, is that the gospel is not working and prayer is not working. They know the gospel, but the gospel is not working. They know prayer, I tell you. But prayer is not working. How frustrating that is. We keep holding onto the concept we had when we were not yet saved. We think we need to work hard — that is right, but that is not what it means — it is about enjoying. It is not about making time. It is about gaining time. Right? It is not about expending much energy. It is about receiving energy. Even while doing conferences, I gain great energy. Many people say, “Oh, you must be working hard, you must be tired” — but I am not tired at all. Because I receive so much grace from prayer and the Word, I am spiritually at a high tension and need to relax a little — but other things I am not tired from. And then a difficulty suddenly hits. Most people collapse at that point.

There is a person who gained strength at this time. Joseph’s mother passed away. When Joseph was young. How hard that must be. It was not that Joseph’s mother was old when she died — she died giving birth to his younger brother, and Joseph was young.

“Bartizan” (Mission)

Joseph began to pray over this. That actually became like this (Bartizan), you see. So if you keep praying this prayer, it just does not remain as it is. A mission comes out. Answers continue from that point.

1. Genesis 37:1-11 → (Mission)

It was not because Joseph had a dream that God worked on him. God worked on him so powerfully that it came out in his dreams. Even now for me, when I occasionally dream, the dream I most often have is about preparing a message. I keep having dreams about going to give a message but missing the time. “No, I need to go to a conference now and what time is it now.” I keep having lots of these dreams. That is quite fortunate. What if I dreamed about fighting with Pastor Lee Sung-hoon? Right? I only dream about messages, like this. Joseph prayed so much and built the bartizan that he came to dream this dream. Here, a complete world evangelization came out.

So during prayer, the most important thing is that the accurate mission is being given right now. In some respects, rather than saying you must find the mission exactly and precisely, it will be found.

Always With → (Mission)

If you are truly praying this prayer properly. If you are properly praying this (Always with) prayer, it will come (Mission). So there is no need to worry.

What I do is nothing other. In the morning, I continually enjoy the 7·7·7 prayer directed toward all of you. Where to go, who to meet — I carry all of this in prayer. So in the morning I get all my strength. What is even more important — in the morning you must come out with confidence. In the morning you must have confidence in your work. If you do not and you are struggling and forcing it — that is no ordinary problem. Right? That is how you become sick. In the morning, you must gain strength with margin. And I deliberately — do not think of mornings as difficult. There is no “how must you breathe, what must you do.” Just breathe long, just slowly, just as much as prayer allows. Just most comfortably. The time I am most spiritually at ease is the morning time. Then on any given day, what you have experienced comes out.

2. Genesis 39:1-6

He was dragged away as a slave. No need to worry.

1) Missions

When going as a slave, this is important. He knew this was the path he was going on in order to do this. Right? When he later met his brothers, he talked about it. God sent me here. There is no need to worry that his brothers sold him. When you are like this, whatever difficulty comes to you — this gives tremendous strength.

2) Field

He went and ended up at Potiphar’s household. That is the field (Field). Right?

3) WITH

Joseph knew this and here the evidence of God appeared. This (WITH) evidence came out. Later, God blessed even the fields of Potiphar’s household on Joseph’s behalf. What is there in the fields? Even the cabbage in that field received blessings that many believers do not receive — that is what it means.

3. Genesis 40:1-23

What is even more important. He was falsely accused. He was completely falsely accused and ended up in prison. Now, this kind of thing is important. We do nothing wrong and yet are falsely accused and persecuted. Right?

1) Persecution

In the Bible, the time when the most history happened is when this (persecution) happened. The most history happened when this (persecution) arose.

2) Highway

He went as a slave, and for Joseph — he was falsely accused and went to prison, I am saying. This is in fact the highway. Joseph knew this. A person of prayer comes to know. A person of prayer does not fear when problems come but finds the answer definitively. You absolutely must be like that. A person of prayer, when an answer comes, looks at what is next. When tremendous history was happening at the Tyrannus hall, what did Paul say? “I must also see Rome.” He was not excited. “I must also see Rome.”

3) Genesis 40:23

An important piece of content comes here. What is the content — the official whose dream Joseph interpreted is released from prison. At that time Joseph spoke to the official. He is an official so he has power. When you get out, please remember me a little. No matter how much God’s grace you receive, prison is prison. No matter how certain the power of this blessing — prison is still prison. He asked for himself to be let out. The Bible records it this way: “But the chief official forgot about Joseph.” This is also the answer. An answer not coming is not an answer not coming. Right? You absolutely must remember. There were times when Moses waited in Midian for 40 years with no answer. What happened at that time? The greatest answer came — enough to write Genesis. This time was a very important time of Joseph being prepared.

4. Genesis 41:38

Finally, the same content but the answer comes. He gets to meet the king. This official eventually remembers Joseph. Right? When? When the crisis came. You absolutely must remember. If you are holding onto the covenant, some person will come to find you when their crisis comes. Hold the covenant — that is what it means. In ordinary times, looking at a person who believes in Jesus — “Wow, that person is such a good person” — when they are in difficulty themselves they will come and ask that person, won’t they? “That person who believes in Jesus is so wicked” — they will not come. Always remember that.

In the old days, when I was driving and something might come up as a dispute, I deliberately avoid it. I apologize and smile. Some pastor was driving and got so angry and just let loose with curses at the car next to them. But it turned out to be a church deacon. You never know what will happen, everyone.

So this Joseph is about to stand before the king — the official has remembered, now. That is very important. The king got to meet Joseph. In our eyes it seems like a great thing, but at that time, to meet the king was for 237 to happen. There is no need for that now. To meet was for the door to 5,000 peoples to open. That is where God sent Joseph. That is where He sent the Remnant.

1) Answer

A very important word comes out here. Joseph goes there and gives the answer. Is this not our evangelism? He gave the answer — but it is not just any answer.

2) WITH

Even then he said this (WITH). He said this (WITH). Going beyond “God was with me” — God loves the king, and God gave me the answer that resolves this for the king, he said. Not that I am giving it. The king was completely moved.

3) Holy Spirit

Then the king said. Completely — the king said. “I have never seen anyone moved by the Spirit of the Lord to this degree.” And he appointed him as prime minister. A remarkable thing happens.

5. Genesis 45:1-5 — World

That day has finally come. This is the day that the dream comes true. He conducts the evangelization movement toward the world. He has already become prime minister at this point. Now doors all over the world open and people come. They are destined to come. The covenant is delivered there.

People and many events — they are not irrelevant. They become God’s blessing. Right? So we keep thinking we must fight and win. That is now the message imprinted from when we were unbelievers. We think that if we fight and win, we have won. That is not winning. No nation that conquered another nation’s territory has truly won. None. For a moment it may seem so. Major powers are all in difficulty now. We keep trying to use that standard imprinted from when we were unbelievers. That is not right. So the answer among answers that you possess is nothing other. The fulfillment of the Word is the true answer. World evangelization is the true answer. So all our people in work mission, especially our Remnants in America — truly receiving new grace, America absolutely must be saved. It is easy. Why? If you do this (Always with), it is easy.

Let us pray.

Prayer. May the grace of the King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal love of God, and the work of the Holy Spirit always be with the people of God who will enjoy the blessing of Always with today from now until eternity. Amen.

Godly Sorrow or Worldly Sorrow?

2 Corinthians 7:10. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

What occupies your mind and heart throughout the day? What fills your thoughts when no one is watching? What do you return to again and again in your heart? That is your spiritual state.

Your spiritual state is more important than your circumstances because what is inside you eventually controls your words, attitudes, decisions, and actions. In time, it influences the direction of your entire life.

The question is this: Is your mind set on the flesh or on the Spirit?

The Apostle Paul wrote, “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires” (Romans 8:5).

Jesus addressed this issue directly when He said: “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs” (Matthew 6:31-32).

You are no longer a child of the devil. Through faith in Jesus Christ, you have become a beloved child of the Most High God. You belong to Him, and your life is in His hands. Therefore, you do not have to live in fear, anxiety, or uncertainty. Your heavenly Father knows your needs, watches over your life, and works all things according to His good purpose.

Our spiritual state is not determined by our circumstances but by where our heart is directed. Joseph understood this. Though he was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned in Egypt, his heart remained fixed on God. His environment said “slave” and “prisoner,” but his spiritual state said “child of God.” While others saw a victim, God saw a leader whom He was preparing to save nations. Joseph lived at the spiritual summit because his thoughts and heart were centered on God’s covenant rather than his circumstances.

Remember, your circumstances cannot overcome you. The Holy Spirit dwells within you. The Creator of heaven and earth has made His home in you. Therefore, no problem is greater than the One who is in you. Difficulties may challenge you, but they cannot destroy you. Trials may surround you, but they cannot separate you from God’s love. The presence of God within you is greater than every obstacle before you.

Caleb demonstrated the same spiritual state. At eighty-five years old, he stood before Joshua and requested the hill country inhabited by the Anakites, whose cities were large and heavily fortified (Joshua 14:6-15). While others saw giants, Caleb remembered God’s promise. While others focused on obstacles, Caleb focused on God’s faithfulness. For forty-five years he followed the Lord wholeheartedly. His spiritual state never changed. As a result, he eventually drove out the Anakites exactly as God had promised.

Many believers fail to experience God’s blessings because they allow their circumstances to define their spiritual state. They continually blame their family background, the people around them, past wounds, present difficulties, or unfavorable conditions. When this happens, their focus remains on problems rather than God’s promises. Tragically, they become trapped in a cycle of unbelief and miss what God desires to accomplish through their lives.

This has always been one of Satan’s primary strategies. In the Garden of Eden, he promoted self-reliance and independence from God (Genesis 3:1-6). In the days of Noah, he encouraged people to pursue worldly pleasure and ignore God (Genesis 6:1-8). At Babel, he inspired humanity to seek worldly success and glory apart from God (Genesis 11:1-9). His methods have not changed. He continually seeks to fill our hearts with pride, pleasure, materialism, and human achievement.

Satan wants us to value material wealth more than spiritual wealth. He wants us to become consumed with temporary things while neglecting eternal realities. He wants us to worship the gifts rather than the Giver, the creation rather than the Creator, the world rather than the One who reigns over all.

The devil did not hesitate to tempt even our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:1-11). He first appealed to physical desires, urging Jesus to satisfy Himself apart from God’s will (Matthew 4:2-3). Then he promoted pride and vanity, tempting Him to prove Himself through a spectacular display (Matthew 4:5-6). Finally, he offered worldly power and glory in exchange for worship (Matthew 4:8-9). These same temptations continue today. The enemy seeks to draw our attention away from God’s kingdom and toward the desires of the flesh, the pride of life, and the pursuit of worldly success.

Yet every temptation of the devil ultimately leads to emptiness and destruction. This is why many believers live without joy, peace, rest, or spiritual victory. Though they are saved, they spend much of their lives chasing after the same things unbelievers pursue. They pray primarily for earthly success while neglecting the eternal purpose for which God saved them.

One of the greatest differences between Jacob and Esau was their spiritual state. Jacob valued God’s covenant and spiritual blessings. Though imperfect, his heart was directed toward God’s promises. Esau, however, despised his birthright and exchanged spiritual blessings for temporary satisfaction (Genesis 25:34). One valued eternity; the other valued the moment.

This is often where we make mistakes. Like Isaac and Rebekah, we focus on outward appearances rather than the condition of the heart: “Isaac, who had a taste for wild game, loved Esau, but Rebekah loved Jacob” (Genesis 25:28). Human beings naturally evaluate people according to appearance, ability, personality, education, or achievement.

However, God sees differently. When Samuel arrived at Jesse’s house to anoint the future king of Israel, God reminded him: “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart‘” (1 Samuel 16:7).

We may not possess much by the standards of this world. We may not have great knowledge, influence, wealth, or ability. At times, we may even feel weak, inadequate, and lacking in every way. Yet God deliberately works through weak vessels so that His power may be revealed.

The Apostle Paul wrote, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).

The value of a clay jar is not in the jar itself but in the treasure it contains. In the same way, our confidence is not found in our own strength, talents, or accomplishments. Our confidence is found in Christ, who lives within us. The world may see only an ordinary person, but God sees someone who carries the treasure of the gospel and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

You have Christ in you; therefore, you possess everything that truly matters. You know the covenant of God; therefore, you have the answer to life’s most important questions. You have the Spirit of God dwelling within you; therefore, you have access to God’s wisdom, power, and guidance for every situation. What seems impossible to man becomes possible through God.

May God open your spiritual eyes to see who you truly are in Christ.

You are a spiritual king. Through the authority of Jesus Christ, you have been given victory over the powers of darkness. Wherever you go, you can stand against the devil’s schemes, knowing that Christ has already triumphed through His death and resurrection.

You are a spiritual priest. God has called you to bring healing, restoration, and reconciliation to those who are suffering spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Through prayer and the ministry of the gospel, you can help lead people into the presence of God.

You are a spiritual prophet. You have been entrusted with the Word of God and the gospel of Christ. In a world covered by darkness, confusion, and deception, you are called to shine the light of truth and point people to the only Savior who can give them eternal life.

Therefore, guard your heart carefully. Do not fill it with the grief, anxiety, and despair that characterize the world. Worldly sorrow leads people deeper into darkness, fear, and hopelessness. Instead, seek the godly sorrow that comes from seeing people through God’s eyes—a sorrow that longs for their salvation, restoration, and eternal life.

When your heart is aligned with God’s heart, you become a channel through which the light of the gospel shines. Your life becomes a testimony of God’s grace. Your words become instruments of hope. Your prayers become part of God’s work of bringing people from darkness into His marvelous light.

The greatest blessing is not what you possess but who possesses your heart. When Christ occupies the throne of your heart, you will experience true joy, peace, strength, and purpose. Then you will no longer chase after the things of the world. Instead, you will live for the kingdom of God and for the eternal souls He desires to save.

Prayer. Father, open my eyes to see every spiritual blessing You have given me in Christ. Help me see myself not according to my weaknesses, but according to Your calling and promises. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that my heart may be fixed on Your kingdom rather than the temporary things of this world. Help me live as a spiritual king who overcomes darkness, a spiritual priest who brings healing, and a spiritual prophet who proclaims the gospel. May my life shine with the light of Christ and lead others to salvation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Deepening Problems of the Age

Sunday 2nd Service
Title / Scripture: The Deepening Problems of the Age (Matthew 8:28-34)
Speaker: Pastor Ryu Kwang-su
Date / Location: February 13, 2022 / Immanuel Seoul Church

Matthew 8:28-34

28 And when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men met him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce that no one could pass that way.
29 And behold, they cried out, “What have you to do with us, O Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”
30 Now a herd of many pigs was feeding at some distance from them.
31 And the demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.”
32 And he said to them, “Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters.
33 The herdsmen fled, and going into the city they told everything, especially what had happened to the demon-possessed men.
34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.

Summary

▷ In the Bible, a few people appear who received special answers from God. God gave special answers to Moses and Elijah. Among pastors as well, people such as Pastor Joo Gi-cheol and Pastor Son Yang-won received answers. There is a reason for that.

Demons – Big Problem | Culture + Economy
Drug addiction, Mental illness, Addiction
3 Organizations | Nephilim Culture

▷ Now there are more and more people who are possessed by demons and causing great problems. And this has fully penetrated by bringing demon culture with it, and has penetrated into the economic realm. The 3 organizations have been completely captured by demons, and Genesis chapters 3, 6, and 11 are moving the world. This culture is the Nephilim culture. Among those who have fallen into it, drug addiction, mental illness, and addiction are the most prevalent.

▷ In today’s passage, a demon-possessed man is living among the tombs. The demons recognized who Jesus was and asked Jesus to send them into the herd of pigs. Then the scene appears where the demons entered the pigs and drowned in the water. Seeing this, the people of that region, rather than believing in Jesus, were afraid and told him to leave the town. These kinds of problems keep increasing — what shall we do?

▣ Introduction

1. Two things (Identity – Authority) – There are two kinds of prayer. Prayer in which one enjoys the identity of being a child of God, and prayer in which one exercises authority — both are extraordinary.
1) Acts 13:1-12 — Concentrated for a few days, and a work of God occurred.
2) Acts 16:16-18 — Concentrated for 3 days, and a work of God occurred. When one prays using authority in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, it may seem like no answer is coming because it is not visible, but the answer comes precisely.
3) Acts 19:8-20 — Prayed for 2 years, and a work of God occurred.

2. Refusal – People almost entirely refuse this (Matthew 8:34).
1) Help – If they had seen the power of Jesus, they should have requested his help.
2) Healing – They should have asked Jesus to heal this town.
3) Instinct – Looking at Jesus, they ask him to leave. Those seized by an evil spirit instinctively dislike it.

3. Church – The problem is that the church is currently not prepared.
1) Pharisees – The place that took issue with Jesus casting out demons was the Pharisee church.
2) Dispute (Law) – They kept disputing using the Word and the Law. The church has not discerned this.
3) Matthew 12:1-48 — They call Jesus the king of demons and pick a dispute with him.

▣ Main

1. Change your spiritual DNA – Pray until the fundamental power that God gives appears, so that your spiritual DNA is changed. Even if physical DNA cannot be changed, spiritual DNA can be changed.

3, 9, 3
Use

– Pray two things! Setting within oneself the Triune God by whom spiritual DNA is changed, the 9 secrets of the throne, and the 3 things by which the age is changed — this is identity. Using this is authority. If you do this, an answer will certainly come, or something even better will come.

2. Enjoy the time schedule. – Do not be discouraged; enjoy the time schedule.
1) Beginning (Genesis chapters 3, 6, 11) – This serious spiritual problem began in Genesis chapters 3, 6, and 11.
2) End – When does it end? It is always present, everywhere, for eternity.
3) Presence – When Christ is present, a work of God occurs.

▷ Now it has become a demonic culture, and the 3 organizations have made this into a culture and seized the economy. BTS has enormous influence, and they have officially stated that they studied at a meditation school. If we keep on praying, the time schedule will come. There is absolutely no need to be discouraged and no need to be in a hurry. Because Christ has commanded it, it is already finished.

3. Exercise real authority. – Do not try to receive help from others; exercise real authority.

1) Fixed time – Begin this prayer at a fixed time.
2) Deep prayer – Without waiting for answers and without being discouraged, go deep into prayer and exercise it.
3) Conviction – Later, conviction comes — a conviction that you no longer need to pray this prayer, or a conviction concerning the result. Paul prayed and was not healed, but the conviction came: “This is grace!” That Paul changed the world.

▣ Conclusion – Three greater things remain.

1. Matthew 16:16-20 (Three blessings) – My church upon this rock; the gates of Hades shall not overcome it. The keys of the kingdom of heaven.
Galatians 2:20 — The being called “I” is already finished, and it is Christ appearing within me.
2 Corinthians 5:17 — Becoming a new creation, so that even DNA and destiny are changed. “The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

2. That time (power, answer) – One must realize how great a power and answer the very time of worship and prayer is. The very resolution to fight against the powers of darkness is already power. Satan, these demons, know well whether one has given up or not (verse 29).

3. Personal forum – Complete works of God occur in the personal forum. New members must not simply be sent away after worship; we must wait until their hearts are fully opened, until they can take hold of the Word for their own lives, until they receive their personal answer.

“The Problems of the Age”

Thank you. Let us look at the deepening problems of the age. In the Bible, a few people appear who received special answers from God. God gave Moses a special answer. There are also many prophets, but he gave Elijah a special answer. And in our country, before we came through the Joseon era, among pastors, people like Pastor Joo Gi-cheol, people like Pastor Son Yang-won — he answered them. There is a reason for that.

[Demons – Big Problem] [3 Organizations]

In fact, I myself began praying after I came to know this. Because before that, I could not find a particular reason to pray specially. I thought, if I am in the Word, God will answer me — so why do I need to pray at all? I was at that level of thinking. Now, more and more people are becoming demon-possessed and causing great problems. Some families ask, “Our family member keeps getting possessed by a demon and we are always suffering — what should we do?” Many people ask this.

[Culture + Economy] [Nephilim Culture]

But this is no longer just a problem — it has fully penetrated by bringing demon culture with it. And it has penetrated into the economic realm.

Especially here [Demons – Big Problem], these 3 organizations have been completely seizing this. I used to only attend church and did not know. Then I came to know: “Wow, Genesis chapters 3, 6, and 11 are moving the world right now.” From that point, the penetration into this realm [Culture + Economy] — it is completely, right now — this is not the time to speak sad words about demonology and such things. It has fully penetrated the cultural realm. Is this not now the Nephilim culture? Those who know are bound to receive answers. That is why God used Elijah.

[Drug addiction, Mental illness, Addiction]

It does not end there. In the end, those who have fallen into this [3 organizations, Nephilim culture] — nearly all of them: drug addiction, mental illness, those are the most numerous, addiction, cancer comes a bit after that — those are the most numerous.

Looking at today’s passage: “The demon-possessed man was living among the tombs, between the tombs. He was screaming so frightfully and making things so difficult that almost no one would pass by.” So it is written. Then when Jesus appeared, he began screaming, saying “What do you have to do with us, O Son of God?” He recognized who Jesus was. “What do you have to do with me?” Then seeing the herd of pigs far off, “Send us into the herd of pigs” — that is what he said. So the demons entered the pigs and the pigs drowned in the water — that scene appears. Seeing this, the people of that region, rather than believing in Jesus, were afraid and said “Leave our village.” That is the content.

What shall we do? These kinds of problems [3 organizations, Nephilim culture, drug addiction, mental illness, addiction] keep increasing more and more — what shall we do?

I had not thought about this in the old days. When I went to evangelism fields, nearly everyone had fallen into this. I went to America thinking it was an advanced country, but America is even worse. Oh, and all sorts of incidents keep erupting. They still haven’t caught the perpetrator for that case in Daegu where five children went to catch frogs and died. All kinds of speculation — whether a teacher did it or what — those are demon-possessed people. The law can’t do anything about it either, because you can’t catch a demon, so they don’t even know that’s what it is. And before that, there was the case of a newlywed couple going on their honeymoon and someone shot and killed them. Well, the police can’t do anything about that either. They investigate everything — whether there was a grudge or not, what happened in the past. That case, the perpetrator was caught. It wasn’t a grudge — they were driving along and some young people were cutting each other off and had a nerve-wracking confrontation and got into a fight. Because of that. They got into a fight over that, pulled over, and a man who had been out hunting shot and killed them with his gun. The couple. Folks, these days if you’re walking around and someone does something crazy, don’t get angry — just say okay, sorry, and let it go. There are all kinds of people out there now. People with these problems come to church to get better, and some people come to church just to cause trouble — they even come to church, I tell you.

▣ Introduction

1. Two things (Identity – Authority)

There are two kinds of prayer. There is the prayer you offer to God based on your identity. Because you have become a child of God, prayer that enjoys that identity is an extraordinary prayer. It is something you receive, in this manner. This authority is prayer that exercises power, so it is extraordinary. Try it for just about a year.

1) Acts 13:1-12
Looking at the Bible, Acts chapter 13, verses 1 through 12 — concentrated for a few days, and a work of God occurred.

2) Acts 16:16-18
Acts chapter 16, verses 16 through 18 — three days, and a work of God occurred. When you pray using authority in the powerful name of Jesus of Nazareth, because the answer is not visible, you think it is not coming — but it comes precisely. To a degree that would frighten you if you knew. Keep at it. Amazing things will happen.

I personally don’t think it necessarily works like this, but I had been continuously praying for a certain person. God called that person home. I don’t think it was because of my prayer. It was their time to be called, but it happened to be while I was praying. The person was too wicked. I kept praying. I prayed night and day, truly. The person was too wicked. I prayed with eyes open, kept praying as thoughts came to me. God called them home. Of course it wasn’t because of my prayer.

3) Acts 19:8-20
Acts chapter 19, verses 8 through 20 — prayed for about 2 years, and a work of God occurred. You must hold on to this covenant.

2. Refusal

Looking at verse 34 today, people almost entirely refuse this.

1) Help
If they saw the power of Jesus casting out demons, they should have asked for help — shouldn’t they?

2) Healing
And furthermore, they should have said, “Please heal this village and this community; there are so many” — “Please do this.” Why did they look at Jesus and tell him to leave? Why do they say that?

3) Instinct
Those seized by this evil spirit instinctively dislike it. When the topic of Christ comes up, there are people who begin foaming at the mouth. It is astonishing. While doing evangelism, I have experienced much while sharing the gospel of Christ. Indeed, during a meeting, someone was having a seizure — called up front, they followed along with everything else. Only “Christ” they could not follow — they had a seizure when saying it. There are things they cannot say, you see.

3. Church

The problem is, the church right now is not prepared. You must hold on to this covenant.

1) Pharisees
When we look at who took issue with Jesus for casting out demons, it was the Pharisee church. It was the Pharisees who picked the fight. It keeps appearing going forward.

2) Dispute (Law)
They kept disputing every single action of Jesus. And not just plain disputing — they disputed using the Word. Like, “He helped a sick person — he broke the Sabbath.” Something like that. Using the Law constantly for dispute — the church failed to discern this.

3) Matthew 12:1-48
Later it appears. Looking at Matthew chapter 12, verses 1 through 48, it appears. They pick a dispute with Jesus. They call Jesus the king of demons and pick a dispute in this way.

How can this be resolved? Please do not take this lightly, and be sure to recover this (two kinds of) prayer. Amazing works of God are set to occur for you.

Now, do not rely on people — do this individually.

▣ Main

1. Change your spiritual DNA

First. Pray until the fundamental power that God gives appears, so that your spiritual DNA is changed. Even if physical DNA cannot be changed, spiritual DNA can be changed. Since no one can help you, do not rely on others — pray. Be sure to pray.

Let me say it again. Pray two things.

[3, 9, 3]
Set within yourself the Triune God by whom your spiritual DNA is changed, the 9 secrets of the throne, and the 3 things by which the age is changed. This is identity.

Use
What is authority? It is using this. Authority was given to be used — this is using it. Try it. An answer will certainly come, or something even better will come.

You keep praying for a certain person and no answer comes? Something better comes. It comes clearly. Now is the time schedule for you to experience this. If there is someone in your family with a spiritual problem, there is no one to help. Only you. That’s right. And even your family may not be able to help you. It is something you yourself do. Hold on to the covenant and do this (Main 1).

I have said this before. For a person with a spiritual problem, how difficult it is — they cannot distinguish night from day. They have no shame. They just come looking for me. I said to the person: “There is no one who can help you. Only Christ can help you.” And truly, at that time it was God’s leading — I pulled out scripture passages, just the passages. I found only the passages where Christ exercised authority. A work of God occurred.

I pray this prayer much among the 24 prayers. Whenever I see an important problem clearly, or whenever something important arises, I continue.

2. Enjoy the time schedule

Second. Jesus appeared and it was resolved — what does this mean? It means: through Christ, you gain spiritual strength and change your spiritual DNA.

Second. Do not be discouraged. Enjoy the time schedule. You must do this in order to be healed, in order to find resolution. Pray until your spiritual DNA is changed. If the other person does not change and does not change, the work of God will occur differently. If you are praying for your church members, for church leaders, and that person does not change — the answer comes differently.

1) Beginning (Genesis chapters 3, 6, 11)
When it comes to demons now, when did this serious spiritual problem begin? You need to know this. It began in Genesis chapters 3, 6, and 11. That’s right. You must not easily become discouraged or easily give up.

2) End
How long does it go on? When does it end? There is no end. Always, everywhere, for eternity.

3) Presence
Look carefully at the time schedule. When Christ is present, a work of God occurs. Those fierce evil spirits, which people cannot handle — when Christ appears, they tremble and say, “Why have you come to me? Don’t you have nothing to do with me?” That is what they are saying.

Right now, many pastors from other Korean church denominations are listening to my sermons. When the topic of demons comes up, we must not say childish things like whether this is Berea theology or not. It has already become a demonic culture right now. These 3 organizations have completely made this into a culture and seized the economy. You know, the people who are making smartphones right now — they are all people of these 3 organizations. It is enormous. BTS’s influence is enormous, isn’t it. Are those people not the ones who were trained by these 3 organizations. Those friends officially said this: “I graduated from a meditation school.” They said it officially. And you know what they did with that? They seized the economy.

So, among our members there is someone who works with the BTS team. After hearing my message, that person sent me a text message, saying they are praying. I told them to pray. You don’t need to force anything. If you keep doing this (Main 1, 2) prayer, the time schedule will come right on time.

All of your problems are the same. There is no need to be discouraged, and no need to be in a hurry to receive an answer. Keep praying and the time schedule will come. The pigs died? That is not a problem. Because Christ commanded it, it is finished. You must absolutely not be discouraged.

3. Exercise real authority

The more important thing is the third. No matter how much you talk about things in church, it is no use. From now on, exercise real authority. Do not try to receive help from others — exercise real authority.

At the time I was planting a church, there is someone who worked with me — you may know who. At first, what happened was that there were so many sick people and so many spiritual problems. When we held Friday all-night prayer, people packed the room. Whether it was God’s doing, I don’t know why exactly, but people just packed in seeking God’s grace. That was the message I gave at that time. What I did was this: “You are God’s children, saved by God’s grace. From now on, every day, lay your hands on the place of pain and pray for yourselves in the name of Jesus.” Our church — at that time we were a small church plant — but right away the wind blew with several thousand people. The wind-blowing work of God occurred.

1) Fixed time
Pray, everyone. When is a good time to exercise this authority? Whether it is in the morning or at midday, it does not matter. Begin this prayer at a fixed time.

2) Deep prayer
Without waiting for answers and without becoming discouraged, go deep into prayer and exercise it.

3) Conviction
As you keep doing this, later this comes. Conviction comes right on time. And how does the conviction come? The conviction comes: “Now I no longer need to pray this prayer.” Or else the conviction concerning the result — concerning that — comes right on time.

Up to this point, actually do it. Do not listen to what people say, do not be discouraged, do not listen to lies, hold firmly to the Word of God and be victorious. This (conviction) is tremendously important. Paul was praying, kept at it but was not healed — what conviction came? “Ah, this is grace.” It is different for each person. It came to him just like that. So what could Paul not do? He changed the world. And at other times, what kind of conviction comes? The conviction: “Ah, for this I have no need of an answer” — that conviction also comes. Then you don’t need to do it anymore. So, therefore I decided to hold on to this blessing and just pray 24. Even doing 24, 24 is never enough.

▣ Conclusion

Conclusion. Three greater things remain.

1. Matthew 16:16-20

In Matthew chapter 16, verses 16 through 20, when confessing Christ, what did Jesus say? He truly said this: “You are Peter. Upon this rock I will build my church. The gates of Hades shall not overcome you. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” He spoke of three blessings. The statement that keys are given to you is an extraordinary thing. “I started praying because of my child, but one day God gave me the keys.” “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” It does not end there.

Galatians 2:20
Later I came to understand — it is not about whether I am healed or not, the being called “I” is now finished, and God — Christ — is appearing within me.

2 Corinthians 5:17
And finally, what is it? You become a new creation entirely. Seeing this, DNA is also changed and destiny is changed. “The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” This kind of thing comes.

2. That time (power, answer) (verse 29)

The tremendously important thing is this: you must realize how great a power and answer the very time of worship and prayer is. Well, something coming is a result. That is not important. The moment you, right now, hold on to the covenant and say “I must pray for my child” — power has already begun. “Both the answer and everything else is important, but I will fight against the powers of darkness” — the very moment of that resolution, power has already begun.

Why is that, do you know? This Satan, this demon — it knows well. Look at verse 29. “What do we have to do with you? Why have you come to us?” — that is what it says. It knows well. It also knows that you will absolutely not give up. It knows even if you give up.

3. Personal forum (verse 30)

The very important thing is the third. Looking again at verse 29: “Crying out, they said, ‘What do we, the Son of God, have to do with you?'” — that is what was said. Looking at verse 30: “Send us into the herd of pigs” — that is what was said. The demon is speaking right now.

Now, look here. Going to church, having meetings, receiving grace, and so on — these build up power. But complete works of God occur in the personal forum. This (personal forum) is tremendously important. I made a brief request today, but: you must not gather new members, hold worship, and then send them away. New members must be cared for until their hearts are fully opened, until they speak of their own lives, until they take hold of the Word. Do you understand? Well, a person of some standing does not easily open up. Then you must wait for them. It is about waiting until the time they receive their own personal answer. We don’t do that for them. For a person with spiritual problems, we do all kinds of telling them this and that. No. Until that individual person says, “Ah, this is how I need to live” — God will work. Usually, even sick people — when you look at those who heal quickly — they are people who say, “Ah, I am no longer afraid of living or dying. Now I will hold on to God’s power and pray, and if God keeps me alive I will be a witness, and if he calls me home I will go.” Works of God occur for such people. In reality, as the days go on, this scene and this message are more and more important. You must hold on firmly here and receive your answer.

With that in mind, from tomorrow, the time of holding on to the covenant and praying becomes an extraordinary time. I enjoy this blessing and so praying makes me very happy. Isn’t that right? How about you? Praying gives me such strength. Because, during that time, spiritually enormous things are occurring. Especially our church leaders who are now getting on in age — since you must be healthy, you need to go even deeper into prayer, breathe long and deep as you do it. You must receive strength. What kind of strength? Because Christ is working, the powers of darkness are being broken — that is what I am saying. That is what is important.

I have come until now experiencing many things through this covenant. Even now I am continuously praying in 24 prayer. I wait, wondering how God will answer. I keep praying. I bless you in the name of Jesus that this week will be a week in which you recover spiritual strength, health, and many things. Let us pray.

Prayer. God, grant that this would be a new beginning in which we believe in your power. Though relying on people is also important, grant that we would recover the spiritual authority of holding on to your covenant. May we keep on praying until our greatest problem becomes our greatest testimony. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Praise — Crown Him with Many Crowns

Confession of Faith
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Begin, My Tongue, Some Heavenly Theme

Hymn
Begin, My Tongue, Some Heavenly Theme
Isaac Watts

Begin, my tongue, some heavenly theme,
And Speak some boundless thing
The mighty works, or mightier name,
Of our eternal King.

Tell of His wondrous faithfulness,
And sound His power abroad
Sing the sweet promise of His grace,
The love and truth of God.

His very word of grace is strong
As that which built the skies
The voice that rolls the stars along
Speaks all the promises.

O might I hear Thy heavenly tongue
But whisper, “Thou art Mine,”
Those gentle words should raise my song
To notes almost divine.

True Answers, True Success, and True Revival [the Guideposts]

Prayer Journal: June 19, 2026
25. Mar. 2025 237 Tuesday Disciple Training
Lecture 3: 『 True Answers, True Success, and True Revival [the Guideposts] 』 (Acts 1:14, Romans 16:25-27)

Introduction
Now, through you, true answers will be delivered. It is not that the saints will succeed, but that they will achieve true success. It is that they will bring about true revival. In a word, what do we call this? We call it a guidepost. The question is why it must be this way. God gave to this person (Romans 16:25-27) the things He had kept hidden. This is the true answer. What God had withheld from going to others, He kept in reserve and purposefully gives to Ray (the interpreter). That is the real answer. And then, going out truly into the world, you achieve true success in saving people. The church brings about true revival.

The answer of the Bible / the work of evangelism / 237-5000 peoples (TCK, CCK, NCK)

Guidepost (Romans 16:25-27)
Bible, Evangelism, 237-5000 (TCK, CCK, NCK)

The answer that is in the Bible must come. Anything else is useless. Also, actual evangelism must take place. And now, we are connected not just in a general way, but connected to 237, and connected to 5,000 peoples. The key to the 5,000 peoples is the TCK. They live in America, but they are not Americans. That is TCK. These people are the answer. And then there are people who are in Muslim territories, or outright communist zones, who simply cannot receive evangelism or the gospel. That is CCK. So as for Muslims and such, that level is still manageable. Then there are those who have nothing to eat at all. That is NCK. These people must be saved.

Introduction – The standard for all saints
So God will answer transcending time and space, and when He does, where must all saints set their standard? The standard for all saints – there are three. The standard for all saints…

Prayer 300%
Bartizan, journey, guidepost
Work 300%
Expertise (only), field relevance (uniqueness), futurity (re-creation)
Evangelism 300%
Leading of the Holy Spirit, work of the Holy Spirit, fruit of the Holy Spirit

1) Prayer 300%
Prayer 300%. Why is that? Because (1) we have the bartizan of the throne, (2) we walk the journey of the throne, and (3) we are planting this guidepost, which is today’s true success and revival – this is why we always pray. This is prayer 300%.

2) Work 300%
Then He will surely bless our studies, our vocations, and our work. This work – 300%.
(1) Expertise (only) – How so? He gives expertise. The answer to this expertise is “only.” There is no stopping it. There is no need to fight over it. Going forward, the work of our important elders will become “only.” Even if you tell them not to come, they will come.
(2) Field relevance (uniqueness) – Uniqueness. And now, at last, dead fields will be brought to life.
(3) Futurity (re-creation) – Futurity. This is what we call re-creation.

3) Evangelism 300%
At last, evangelism 300%. We are talking about it right now, aren’t we?
(1) Leading of the Holy Spirit – Absolutely wait until the leading of the Holy Spirit becomes visible.
(2) Work of the Holy Spirit – The second stage: move toward the work of the Holy Spirit.
(3) Fruit of the Holy Spirit – The third stage: ride the continuity of bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

These three must always be enjoyed. I spoke about this last week when our multiethnic group gathered. Our church has multiethnic groups that meet separately – I told them to take this (the introduction) with them. If you do, you will save your nations and save everyone.

Main – Now then, evangelism, work, our church needs to rise to 300%, so let us take a look at the guidepost.

1. Mt. Calvary
Mt. Calvary. Here, the Word was spoken clearly.
1) John 19:30
“It is finished.” It is all accomplished, and yet I have nothing.
2) Matthew 28:16-20
So there is no need for anything else. I, who hold all authority in heaven and on earth, will be with you.
3) Mark 16:15-20
The Lord seated on the throne will work. That is certain. This is the covenant we grab hold of. It may look like nothing, but later it comes to us as a tremendous work. Because it is a guidepost. If you receive it as a severe trauma, you will be unable to do anything for the rest of your life. If you receive it as a powerful grace, the work will begin to unfold afterward.

2. Mt. Olive
The guidepost of Mt. Olive.
1) Acts 1:1, 3, 8
Christ, the kingdom of God, only the Holy Spirit…
2) Throne, kingdom, work
The blessing given there is the throne, the kingdom of God, the work of the kingdom of God…
3) Acts 1:14
What is most important here? It is Acts 1:14. What came out of here is the disciple of “only.” Here (Mt. Calvary) the crowds and the disciples were distinguished. It could not help but happen. It is fine even if it does not, but it cannot help but happen.

3. The Upper Room
The third guidepost. He led them to the Upper Room.
1) The three festivals
Here, something very important – last Sunday’s sermon – the three festivals.
2) Acts 2:9-11
It did not end there. The doors of 15 nations were opened.
3) Acts 2:41-42
At that time, in Acts 2:41-42, 3,000 disciples arose. Works like this break out one after another.

4. Antioch
At last, to Antioch – here I am speaking about a part that must not be missed. Next month is Remnant-centered so it will be different. So the exact covenant must be grasped.
1) Acts 11:19
What is most important in Antioch is this. The scattered ones – the most important word in Scripture – the remnant, the scattered ones – an important word. To these people, God attached disciples. He attached a great multitude of disciples.
2) Acts 11:26
And so, while famine came upon the whole world, God worked only here.
3) Acts 11:28-30
What is this? God finally opened the door to the world. The people who participated here are people who received a remarkable blessing. At first, they probably did not know it. They were probably thinking, since we have hold of this covenant, of course we should do this. And then this work happened. The answers you need to produce will take place exactly as they should.

5. Asia – Fasting
Now what is the fifth? Here is where a precious work begins. This is the first stage of evangelism. A tremendous work begins here.
1) Person
2) Place
3) Work
Here God said to go by person, place, and work. This is important. What happened here? They broke the power of darkness. What is the important thing that happened here? In order to receive the leading of the Holy Spirit, fasting appears. That is how important it was considered.

6. Macedonia – All-Night Prayer
Now, the sixth guidepost. This is Macedonia. You are well aware of it, but you must know the key.
1) Door
What is most important? God shut all the doors.
2) Turning point
The shutting of that door became the turning point.
3) Preparation of disciples
As you know, what keeps happening here? Wherever they went, God had prepared disciples in advance. He had prepared disciples in advance. There is no need to try to make them. The Lord opened the heart of Lydia; in chapter 17, Jason; it was not something they planned. In chapter 18, the couple Priscilla and Aquila; in chapter 19, disciples separately raised up; here, there are clear traces of Paul praying through all-night prayer. That is how important it was. Stage one, stage two – that is how important what they witnessed was.

7. Rome
The last is Rome.
1) 237 – 5,000
Rome is where the 237 – 5,000 peoples are.
2) The ends of the earth
At that time, it was seen as the ends of the earth. In order to go all the way to Spain, the talents of Spain were all gathered in Rome. That is where they were headed. So all that needs to be done is to grasp the covenant precisely.
3) Acts 19:21, Acts 23:11, Acts 27:24
“He must also see Rome” – this is no ordinary word. I spoke of this before. God quotes Paul’s own words. “Take courage; as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.” God takes hold of your prayers and uses them. Right? Because you have grasped the exact covenant, when crisis comes, an even greater blessing breaks out. “Paul, do not be afraid; you must stand before Caesar.” Yes.

It is exactly like this. The key is how you enjoy and pray through these three – bartizan / journey / guidepost. Because Jesus taught that and then departed, today we looked at it from the perspective of an evangelist for the entire day. Then next month, we will look at it from the perspective of the Remnant. There is much to look at. So it must be made completely your own. And in the meantime, the work takes place.

Conclusion → Prayer team of 24/25/eternity

In the midst of what is breaking out everywhere, there are important things that need to be concluded.
1) Romans 16:20
Satan will be brought to kneel at your feet.
2) 1 Corinthians 16:18-19
1 Corinthians 16:18-19 – those who refresh. There are so many people who suffocate others, aren’t there? Those who refresh…
3) Colossians 4:7-8
Colossians 4:7-8. One who properly conveys our situation, who conveys their situation to us, who delivers God’s comfort to them – there are many, but it is Tychicus. And so Paul gave Tychicus a special errand. God will give you a special errand.

Prayer team of 24/25/eternity – And so these answers come. The prayer team of 24/25/eternity – looking at it, I see that at our Immanuel Seoul, the women disciples have started forming a prayer team. That will certainly make an impact. These are the people of Romans 16.

Every now and then, when I look at our pastors – there are people who keep receiving training and doing evangelism even though there is no special place for them at our headquarters or in the upper room. And there are people who keep receiving ongoing training and evangelism even though their church has not had great revival. Truly without fame, without debt – I see those people as tremendously precious. These people go around in the field and come back, and the work takes place. In what sense is that not the real thing? They just delivered the message and came back, and the work broke out there. It is fine even without ability. Ability comes along the way, even before things have fully come together, so it is fine. You don’t even realize you lack ability. All you need to do is deliver the Word. These are the precious pastors who are out there. Let us pray.

Prayer. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings, the infinite love of God, and the working of the Holy Spirit be always with all evangelists who have grasped the important covenant – upon their heads, from now until eternity. Amen.

Rose Park

Perfect You are my God
Righteous and Holy
In all of Your ways
Revealing Your glory
In all that You do
All men will worship You

I will worship You
I will praise Your name
For You are the only Lord and King
I will worship You

Confession of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body
And life everlasting. Amen.

Hymn
Begin, My Tongue, Some Heavenly Theme
Isaac Watts

Begin, my tongue, some heavenly theme,
And Speak some boundless thing
The mighty works, or mightier name,
Of our eternal King.

Tell of His wondrous faithfulness,
And sound His power abroad
Sing the sweet promise of His grace,
The love and truth of God.

His very word of grace is strong
As that which built the skies
The voice that rolls the stars along
Speaks all the promises.

O might I hear Thy heavenly tongue
But whisper, “Thou art Mine,”
Those gentle words should raise my song
To notes almost divine.

Responsive Reading
Psalm 5

Leader: Listen to my words, Lord,
consider my lament.
People: Hear my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

Leader: In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
People: For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
with you, evil people are not welcome.

Leader: The arrogant cannot stand
in your presence.
You hate all who do wrong;
People: you destroy those who tell lies.
The bloodthirsty and deceitful
you, Lord, detest.

Leader: But I, by your great love,
can come into your house;
in reverence I bow down
toward your holy temple.
People: Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies—
make your way straight before me.

Hymn
How Great Thou Art
Carl Boberg

Oh Lord, my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

Scripture Reading
Lamentations 4:1-5
Carmetta Williams

How the gold has lost its luster,
    the fine gold become dull!
The sacred gems are scattered
    at every street corner.

How the precious children of Zion,
once worth their weight in gold,
are now considered as pots of clay,
the work of a potter’s hands!

Even jackals offer their breasts
    to nurse their young,
but my people have become heartless
    like ostriches in the desert.

Because of thirst the infant’s tongue
    sticks to the roof of its mouth;
the children beg for bread,
but no one gives it to them.

Those who once ate delicacies
    are destitute in the streets.
Those brought up in royal purple
    now lie on ash heaps.

Message
Pure Gold Does Not Become Dull
Pastor Ryu Kwang Su

※ What covenant must one hold in order to receive an answer?
1. Israel was given the gospel, but did not preach or enjoy the gospel, resulting in children dying and disaster coming.
2. Worldly grief is the way to death; spiritual grief is the way to life.
3. Jeremiah’s grief is the way to save Israel and the world.

▣ Introduction – Spiritual grief
1. Grief toward the age – A spiritual epidemic is spreading across the entire land.
1) Children are falling into spiritual problems, drugs, and mental illness.
2) The church is not giving the gospel of life.
(1) Children of underdeveloped nations, captivated by superstition, idols, and evil spirits.
(2) Organizations spreading strange movements in America and Europe.
(3) Churches that have no interest in this and only fight.
3) Children all over the world are dying, falling into Satan’s festivals. This is an age in which children commit suicide.

2. God’s grief
1) God who lamented when He saw mankind become Nephilim due to spiritual problems (Gen 6).
2) Jesus who grieved seeing sheep without a shepherd (Matt 9:35-38).
3) Those who carry the grief that the gospel and nothing else will do, hold back disaster (Matt 5:3-4).

3. WRC must become a spiritual festival. Carry that grief, renew your strength, and save the children of the nations.

▣ Main
1. God’s promises given to the grieving prophets.
1) Isaiah – “Things will fall further into ruin, but the Remnant will not be destroyed.”
2) Jeremiah – “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
3) Ezekiel – “Prophesy the Word. Prophesy the breath of life.”
▷ For the Remnant, this is both the first opportunity and the last opportunity. Nothing else must be given to them.

2. God who worked through those who went to Babylon carrying grief.
1) The three young adults – Even if they succeed, success was not the point. They saved their own people and others.
2) Daniel – He resolved and prayed with thanksgiving, just as he had done before.
3) Esther – “God placed me here for such a time as this. If I die, I die.”

3. God who accomplished the work of restoring the temple through those who carried grief.
1) Nehemiah – He spoke to the king about restoring the temple.
2) Zerubbabel – A leader of temple restoration who knew grief.
3) Haggai – God gave the word of restoration (Haggai 2:1-9).
▷ What matters is whether the covenant God has given is the right one or not.

▣ Conclusion – “He knows your tears”
1. Worldly grief is the path to destruction.
2. Spiritual grief changes the world.
3. Those who carry a grief that gives life.
1) They take on the challenge because, in the absolute impossibility, they see absolute possibility.
2) Because they know God’s power, it is fine even if no one helps them.
3) Because they know what prayer is, it is fine even if they have nothing.
4) God accomplishes the work of His throne and the work of His kingdom through this person.
▷ Offering – The three economies must be restored, and the very best must be given to God.
▷ The three-day weekend age – Our children and people of other nations must come to know the gospel and prayer, and then be sent out.

Tithes & Offering

Hymn
Remnant
Kim Young Gon and Kwon Jung Min

God’s people are scattered all around,
For the LORD has sent us on ahead of time;
But when the LORD calls us together,
We shall see His covenant in us restored;

For in this dark world full of idols,
The people have lost all their hope.
But when the Spirit comes
Like the power of the wind,
They will hear and receive the LORD.

Let us rise, all you scattered,
As the remnant,
Let us shine the light of Jesus,
To the world of night;
In the nations of the world,
Let us rise and shine for Jesus,
For we are His Remnant.

Prayer

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Hymn
We Will Keep Our Faith Alive!
Don Besig · Nancy Price

Gathered here, within this place,
We can share in God’s redeeming grace.
There’s no room for doubt or fear;
We can feel His presence here.
As we face each passing day,
We will serve and honor and obey;
And if hope should start to dim,
We will know our trust is in Him.

And we will keep our faith alive,
God will always be our guide.
Through the darkest night,
We will see God’s light.
We will keep our faith alive!

We will live as God has planned,
Though at times we may not understand.
Many things we may not see,
But our faith will help us believe.
From His Word we learn the truth;
Through His love we all are born anew.
With His help, we will not fail
For we know our God will prevail.  Chorus

The Best Life Ever Lived

Acts 27:23-25. Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me 24 and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ 25 So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

Fulfilling the destiny God has prepared for you in Christ is the greatest life you can ever live: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

God never saves a person without purpose. Before the foundation of the world, He prepared a unique calling, mission, and path for every believer. The greatest success in life is not achieving personal ambitions but discovering and fulfilling God’s purpose through Christ.

The Apostle Paul understood this truth. Throughout his covenant journey, he knew that God had appointed him to go to Rome: “After all this had happened, Paul decided to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. ‘After I have been there,’ he said, ‘I must visit Rome also'” (Acts 19:21).

Later, while imprisoned and facing uncertainty, the Lord reassured him: “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome” (Acts 23:11).

Even in the midst of a violent storm at sea, God confirmed His promise: “Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar” (Acts 27:24).

Rome was more than a destination; it was part of God’s plan for world evangelization. Because Paul was convinced of God’s calling, no hardship could shake him. He endured imprisonments, beatings, shipwrecks, dangers, persecutions, hunger, and countless trials because he knew that every circumstance was moving him toward God’s purpose (2 Corinthians 11:23-27).

The same calling extends to every believer today. Jesus invites us to walk the path of the evangelist: “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people” (Matthew 4:19).

True success is found in going where God sends us, doing the works He has prepared for us, and waiting upon His perfect timing for the people and places He has entrusted to us.

The world defines success by wealth, power, popularity, and achievement. Scripture reveals a far greater success—the privilege of participating in God’s work of saving lives through the gospel. Through the preaching of the gospel, God has made known His eternal plan of salvation: “At his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior” (Titus 1:3).

For this reason, evangelism and world missions should not merely be one activity among many. They should become the central purpose of our lives. There is no life more beautiful, meaningful, or eternally rewarding than the life devoted to bringing the good news of Christ to others: “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!'” (Isaiah 52:7).

To participate effectively in God’s mission, we must understand the flow of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible reveals the tragic fall of humanity, the inevitable consequences of sin, God’s absolute plan of redemption, and the fulfillment of that plan through Jesus Christ.

When we view people through the lens of God’s redemptive history, our perspective changes. We begin to see our families, workplaces, churches, communities, and nations according to God’s eternal purpose rather than merely through earthly concerns.

As we follow the flow of God’s Word, we become sensitive to God’s timing. We begin to recognize those whom God is preparing to receive the gospel, just as many in Antioch believed because they were “appointed for eternal life” (Acts 13:48).

The Scriptures are God’s training manual for evangelism. Therefore, we must carefully follow the example of Christ.

Jesus lived with absolute clarity regarding His mission. He never lost sight of His purpose: to glorify the Father and bring salvation to humanity.

Interestingly, before preaching large public sermons or performing many miracles, Jesus first called a small group of individuals. His initial focus was not crowds but disciples:

“Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons” (Mark 3:13-15).

Notice the order. Before sending them out, Jesus called them to be with Him. Discipleship begins with a relationship. For nearly a year, the disciples primarily observed Jesus. He took them wherever He went. He allowed them to watch Him pray, teach, minister, respond to opposition, and interact with people from every walk of life. Through daily life together, Jesus shaped their character, faith, and understanding.

Jesus taught by example. He demonstrated what He expected from His followers. He upheld the authority of Scripture, frequently quoting God’s Word. He modeled a life of prayer and complete dependence upon the Father. He demonstrated faith during storms, wisdom during conflicts, compassion toward sinners, and humility toward His followers.

During the Passover meal, He washed His disciples’ feet, leaving them an unforgettable example of servant leadership. Throughout His life, Jesus showed that greatness in God’s kingdom is measured not by position but by service.

Jesus’ tears reflected God’s compassion. His joy reflected God’s delight. His priorities reflected God’s heart. Every event during His earthly ministry revealed the Father’s will.

The Apostle Paul later urged believers: “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Every believer becomes an example to others. Whether we realize it or not, people are learning from our words, attitudes, decisions, and lifestyles.

Paul encouraged believers: “Join together in following my example” (Philippians 3:17).

He also reminded them: “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice” (Philippians 4:9).

Those whom we seek to help with the gospel will often learn more from our lives than from our words. Therefore, we must continually seek the transforming work of the Holy Spirit so that Christ may be visible through us.

We cannot reproduce what we do not possess. Only as Christ lives powerfully within us can we effectively influence others for His kingdom.

Jesus is perfect, and His plans are perfect. When He called His disciples, He already knew their weaknesses, failures, doubts, and future victories. Yet He chose them, trained them, and prepared them for His mission.

Likewise, God knows every detail of our lives. Nothing surprises Him. Every circumstance, challenge, and opportunity is part of His sovereign plan.

Ultimately, Christ has already secured complete victory. He has prepared an eternal home for all who belong to Him. While we await that glorious future, our purpose on earth is clear: to expand God’s kingdom through the proclamation of the gospel.

Unlike the founders of other philosophies and religions who left behind books, theories, or systems, Jesus promised something far greater: “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

Through the Holy Spirit, Christ continues to lead, teach, strengthen, and empower His people today.

One of Jesus’ primary goals was not merely to gather followers but to reproduce disciple-makers.

Throughout His ministry, He continually trained His disciples. He sent them out, listened to their reports, corrected their mistakes, encouraged their growth, and taught them lessons from both success and failure.

Even after His resurrection, He continued preparing them for their mission through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus understood that the gospel would spread through multiplication. Therefore, He commanded: “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them… and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).

In His prayer, Jesus looked beyond the original disciples to future generations: “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message” (John 17:20).

This pattern has continued throughout church history for more than two thousand years. One generation trains the next. Disciples make disciples.

We must embrace this same vision. Our goal is not simply to share the gospel but also to help others grow into mature followers of Christ who will, in turn, disciple others.

When Jesus completed His earthly ministry, His disciples were still imperfect. They struggled with doubt, fear, pride, and misunderstanding. Yet Jesus entrusted them to the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit came upon them, they received power to become bold witnesses and transformed the world through the gospel.

The same Holy Spirit continues to work today. God patiently waits for people around the world to know Him. At the same time, He urgently calls His people to participate in His mission.

There is nothing more urgent than leading people to Christ. There is nothing more important than praying for disciples who will be sent into God’s harvest field. There is nothing more fulfilling than participating in the Great Commission in our generation.

Through Christ, we have received the authority of His name—the name above every name. We have direct access to God through prayer. We are protected and sustained by His presence. Heaven’s resources are available for the fulfillment of His mission.

When evangelism becomes our focus, the Lord Himself works alongside us: “Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it” (Mark 16:20).

And wherever the gospel advances: “Pray that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored” (2 Thessalonians 3:1).

God continues to speak through His Word every day. His Word guides, protects, strengthens, and directs His people. Therefore, the key to effective evangelism is not human strategy but faithful obedience to God’s Word.

Follow the Word. Trust the Spirit. Walk by faith. Make disciples. This is the life Christ has prepared for you. This is the destiny for which you were created. And this is the best life you can ever live.

Prayer. Father, thank You for calling me to be with You and for including me in Your eternal plan of salvation. Help me to follow Your Word, walk in step with Your Spirit, and faithfully proclaim the gospel where Christ is not known. Raise up disciples through my life who will make disciples of others. Let my life bring glory to You and advance Your kingdom. Thank You for the privilege of living for Your purpose and fulfilling the calling You have prepared for me in Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Who on Earth Is He?

Sunday 1st Service
Title/Scripture: Who on earth is he? (Matthew 8:23-27)
Speaker: Pastor Ryu Kwang-soo
Date/Location: February 13, 2022, Immanuel Seoul Church

Matthew 8:23-27
23 And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him.
24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep.
25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.”
26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
27 And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

Summary
The person who put the words “Who on earth is Christ?” into my head is Dr. Kim Joon-gon. “How did the Lord do evangelism?” — this was written by a man named Robert Coleman. I saw, for once, pastors who were truly pastors.

▣ Introduction
1. When we only look to Christ, know him, believe in him, speak of him
1) Crosby, in an extreme situation, looked only to Christ, and the world was changed.
2) Just by knowing “Who is Christ?” an extraordinary door of answers was opened, and he led you to meet one another.
3) Those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior have their destiny completely reversed.
4) People who suffer so greatly are dying, deceived and unknowing. He merely spoke of Christ, and history was made.

2. The background of the text and our situation
1) Background of the text – Jesus was with his disciples on the Sea of Galilee when a sudden wind arose. Jesus was sleeping, and the disciples were so anxious they woke Jesus and caused a commotion. Jesus said, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” and calmed the wind and sea. The people marveled, asking, “Who on earth is this man?”
2) Our situation – We have Christ with us, yet we are anxious. The disciples had been with Christ and seen him all along, yet they were still anxious. Even as we live our life of faith, even knowing who Christ is, we are anxious.

3. “Who on earth is Jesus Christ?” This is a question about life that must be answered decisively. An answer must be given to it.

▣ Main_ Who on earth is Jesus Christ?
1. He is the one who was prophesied.
1) Prophecy
(1) The birth of Jesus, the place, and that he would be born in a manger for animals — all were prophesied.
(2) That he would be executed on a cross and rise again was prophesied.
(3) It is certain that the prophetic writings were written before Jesus — the book of Isaiah, written 700 years before Jesus was born.
2) Three problems that humanity absolutely cannot solve
(1) Calamity that keeps pressing in, the more one acquires and the more one studies
(2) The mentally ill will keep multiplying. Satan’s organization — it cannot be overcome.
(3) People’s lives improve and their standards rise — so why is it harder? They cannot escape the hell background.
3) The word that resolves these three things is Christ. One must know what Christ means. He is the gift given by God. When you truly experience this part, amazing works of history occur. Even just knowing brings answers. I experienced it several times, and I became such a different person I could hardly believe it was me.

2. He is the Triune God.
1) Philippians 2:6 “who, though he was in the form of God” — he was originally in the form of God, but came to this earth as Christ in order to save.
2) John 8:58 “before Abraham was, I am.”
3) John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.”
4) Matthew 28:19-20 “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
5) The last pulpit, Mt Olive — Christ, the Kingdom of God, only the Holy Spirit.

▷ If you have God in your home, it becomes a throne. Because we cannot go to God, he sent Jesus Christ so that by believing in him we would be resolved. The sin of departing from God, the sin of running errands for Satan, the sin that causes all people to fall into calamity, the sin that causes one to be caught in the hell background and perish for eternity — that is resolved only through Christ.

3. He is the one who made it possible for us to actually enjoy that power.
1) Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.”
2) Mark 3:15 “I called you so that I might give you authority to cast out demons.”
3) Matthew 16:18-19 When Peter made his confession of faith: “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. The gates of hell shall not prevail against you.”

▷ Try it. The authority of the name of Christ — it is tremendous. It may look as though you are simply praying in the name of Jesus Christ, but the answers will surely come with perfect precision.

▣ Conclusion_ Two Prayers
1. The prayer of enjoying one’s identity
1) May the power of the Triune God come upon me.
2) May the nine blessings of the heavenly throne come upon me within.
3) Give me the power to save the whole world.

2. The prayer of authority — it is to use it and to transmit it.
May all the forces of darkness be bound in the name of Jesus Christ.

▷ Try it. How long? Just keep doing it. Remarkable things are bound to happen.

■ How blessed is the time of worship and prayer? (Revelation 8:3-5)
All our prayers and worship ascend and are collected in the bowl of incense before God.
1) In the time of praying and enjoying power in the name of Christ, one becomes spiritually healthy.
2) When, without worldly worry, one spiritually enjoys the authority of Christ’s name, the body is also healed.
3) More importantly, the backgrounds of the throne come pressing toward us.
4) Watch your future unfold.

▷ Pray this prayer today.

Transcript
When I was a young adult, I heard a sermon. “Who on earth is Christ?” It was a sermon by Pastor Kim Joon-gon. For the first time, I felt, “This is a pastor who has the gospel.”

I recognized that. Dr. Kim Joon-gon, the era-defining evangelist from Honam — listening to his sermons, I understood that “he bears witness to Christ with purity.”

Around 1997, Dr. Kim Joon-gon contacted me. He said he wanted to meet at the CCC (Korea Campus Crusade for Christ) building. I went to greet him, and he asked me this: “I listened to Pastor Ryu’s sermons on tape.” That is what he said. Then what he said at that time was: “Ten million disciples must arise before we can once proclaim the gospel to the world.” And then he quietly asked me something — “Where did this material, this source, come from?” I said, “There is no source — I just talked about what I felt from the Word of God while doing evangelism in the field.” What he said — I’m not sure exactly what he meant — was, “This is the message to raise ten million disciples and evangelize North Korea.” After that, he continued to care about us and pray for us. He even came in person to Deokpyeong and kept telling us, “Just do evangelism.” That is the kind of person he was.

When I was in university, I read a book — “The Master Plan of Evangelism.” The author is the renowned American theologian Dr. Robert E. Coleman. Reading his book, I felt, “Ah, this is a man who has grasped a great covenant!” He was the dean of the missions department at Trinity College in Chicago.

Around 2000, I was invited to give a lecture at that school. Trinity is a remarkable institution. When I did so, a fight broke out inside. “Oh, they say there are problems in Korea — let’s not listen.” Someone else said, “Let’s hear him.” A fight broke out. The head of that department was Dr. Robert Coleman. He was not at the school at that time but had gone abroad. The report would have gone up to him, wouldn’t it? So where did Dr. Robert Coleman call? He called the person he trusted most in Korea — Dr. Kim Joon-gon. He asked, “What kind of person is this young pastor named Pastor Ryu Kwang-soo?” Dr. Kim Joon-gon must have answered well. He said, “Complete gospel among gospels, an evangelist through and through.” So what did Dr. Robert Coleman instruct? He said, “Don’t do it in the classroom — gather everyone at the pulpit and have them all listen.” That is what happened. I gave the lectures and came back.

Then on September 18, 2005, when there was the Seocho branch church, Dr. Robert Coleman came to preach at our church. At that time I contacted Dr. Kim Joon-gon and asked him to come and give the benediction since Dr. Robert Coleman was coming, and he came. Oh, I was so surprised at that time — the two of them had never met before that day, and they greeted each other and so on. I received such grace, and to this day, even if there are no other people’s photos in my room, the photo of those two men with me is still up on the wall.

“Who on earth is Christ?” — the person who put that word into my head is Dr. Kim Joon-gon. That phrase belongs to him, you know? “Who on earth is Christ?” “How did the Lord do evangelism?” — that was written by a man named Robert Coleman. Indeed, for once I saw pastors who were truly pastors.

▣ Introduction
If you were placed in an extreme situation, what would you need to do?

1. When we only look to Christ, know him, believe in him, speak of him
1) Crosby, in an extreme situation, looked only to Christ, and the world was changed.
As you know, a person named Crosby encountered an extreme situation. Suddenly, through an accident — through some medication — she lost her sight, lost her eyes. At that time, Crosby did one thing. She looked only to Christ. She did not even know it herself. Just how much we fail to look to Christ — this blind woman looked only to Christ, and the world was changed.

2) Just by knowing “Who is Christ?” an extraordinary door of answers was opened, and he led you to meet one another.
When I was studying, I struggled greatly for ten years, but just by knowing who Christ is, an extraordinary door of answers was opened, and I was led to meet all of you. It was far more than that.

3) Those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior have their destiny completely reversed.
Who on earth is Jesus Christ — when I knew this and explained it just a few times, history was made. The moment I entered Yeongdo — a young man there was running a store called Yeongdong Sanghoe. A fortune-teller had told his fortune, and the prediction was definite — he would die in September. I shared the clear gospel with him. Those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior have their destiny completely reversed. He is still alive today.

4) People who suffer so greatly are dying, deceived and unknowing. He merely spoke of Christ, and history was made.
I was going upstairs for a Bible study, and at the bottom of the staircase was a woman, crying. As I walked in, I had one of our church deacons bring her in. She still comes to our church in Busan today. I won’t mention her name. She attended the upper room there. Her mother-in-law had her fortune told, and the fortune-teller said that if her son lived with this daughter-in-law, the husband would die. So the mother-in-law was telling her to leave, to pack her bags and go. This woman was now explaining, through tears, at the Bible study, why she was crying. She could understand her mother-in-law saying that, but when her husband heard the same and also told her to go — that is what broke her. I spoke simply. I demonstrated that Jesus is the Christ. I prayed a prayer of reception. The destiny was finished. The moment you receive Jesus Christ as Savior, all destiny is reversed. She is still alive. This has happened not once or twice. People who suffer so greatly are dying, deceived and unknowing — yet he merely spoke of Christ, and history was made.

2. The background of the text and our situation
1) Background of the text
Today, Jesus and his disciples were at the Sea of Galilee when suddenly a strong, violent wind arose. Jesus was sleeping, and the disciples were so anxious they woke Jesus and caused a great commotion. Today Jesus said, “Why are you afraid?” He said, “Why are you afraid? O you of little faith!” and calmed the wind and sea. Then the people saw it and marveled: “Who on earth is this man?”

The Sea of Galilee is about 21 km long and about 13 km wide, and apparently it is hollowed out like a pit 200 meters deep. So strong winds can blow across it, they say. According to accounts from people who experienced it, sometimes winds blow for about three days straight and everything gets tossed around.

2) Our situation
We have Christ with us, yet we are anxious. The disciples had always been with Christ. Yet they were anxious. Jesus said, “O you of little faith” — even as we live our life of faith, we are anxious. Even knowing who Christ is, we are anxious. It is exactly the same situation.

3. “Who on earth is Jesus Christ?” This is a question about life that must be answered decisively. An answer must be given to it.
Who on earth is Jesus Christ? You must answer this question about your life decisively. Don’t you know? There was a man who began writing to oppose belief in Jesus Christ and to reject the Word of God. And then something happened — he fell completely on his knees before Christ. He changed his mind and wrote a new book. That book also became a film. The work is called “Ben-Hur.” The person who wrote that work is a man named Lewis Wallace.

Who on earth is Christ? He never wrote a single word, yet he is the Christ who left behind more books than anyone — who is he? He never once fought, yet he is the Christ who conquered the world — who is he, I ask? In 2022, before and after — is it not by the standard of Jesus? Who is that protagonist, I ask? Many heroes have arisen, but they cannot compare with him. Jesus Christ, who never once attacked another and yet conquered the entire world — that is who I am asking about.

▣ Main_ Who on earth is Jesus Christ?
You must give an answer to this.

1. He is the one who was prophesied.
This is the first point. He is the one who was prophesied.
1) Prophecy
There is nothing to say. Scientists have nothing to say. The birth of Jesus — prophesied. Even the place — prophesied. Even that he would be born in a manger for animals — prophesied. Even more remarkably, that he would be executed on a cross and rise again — that was prophesied. And the remarkable thing is that now that science has advanced, isn’t that a good thing? Because science advanced, it has become certain that these prophetic writings were written before Jesus. Most of it appears in the book of Isaiah, and the book of Isaiah was written 700 years before Jesus was born — yet it was prophesied with such precision.

2) Three problems that humanity absolutely cannot solve
Humanity absolutely cannot solve three problems. The more one acquires and the more one studies, calamity keeps pressing in — it cannot be resolved. The mentally ill will keep multiplying. Satan’s organization — it cannot be overcome. And yet as people’s lives improve and their standards rise, why is it harder? They cannot escape the hell background. The word that resolves these three things is Christ. It is a remarkable thing. There has been no more important thing in all of history. I respect monks who practice in the mountains. But these three things cannot be resolved for you. You must know what Christ means. He is the gift given by God. You must absolutely remember this. When you truly experience this part, remarkable works of history occur.

Even just knowing brought answers, I found. I experienced this several times, and even I myself could not believe it — I became an entirely different person. To the point where you cannot believe it yourself, answers come — this is something that is hard to put into words. I feel like I am not even myself anymore.

In the old days, I was someone for whom nothing ever worked out. So much illness in my family — just a family full of sick people. So thoroughly steeped in idol worship, I tell you — a family completely reeking of idol worship. I simply came to know Christ. When I was young and did not know Christ, I was someone who worried about how I would eat and survive. Unable to feed myself — how would I survive? Incapable of sustaining even one household — how would I live? That was the kind of person I was, I tell you.

Now the family of 300,000 exceeds even 300,000. This family is praying for me. There is evidence that it exceeds 300,000. Because in any given week, after I preach a sermon, over 200,000 connections come in. Who on earth is this Jesus Christ, I ask.

2. He is the Triune God.
This is the second point. He is the Triune God.
1) Philippians 2:6
In Philippians 2:6 it says, “who, though he was in the form of God.” So he was originally in the form of God, but came as Christ to this earth, in order to save. I absolutely could not believe this in the old days. Now I absolutely believe it. Why? Because without this, the spiritual problems of the human world cannot be resolved.

2) John 8:58
In John 8:58, Jesus said this: “Before Abraham was, I am.”

3) John 10:30
In John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.” Because they could not understand this, the Jews attacked Jesus on charges of blasphemy.

4) Matthew 28:19-20
In Matthew 28:19-20, he said this: “baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

5) The last pulpit, Mt Olive
Even from Mt Olive, the last pulpit, it came forth. Christ, the Kingdom of God, only the Holy Spirit.

Now, if you have the president in your home, it becomes the Blue House, right? If you have a king in your home, it becomes a palace. If you have God in your home, it becomes a throne. Right?

Therefore, because we cannot go to God, he sent Jesus Christ and made it so that by believing in him we would be resolved. The Jews probably found this hard to understand. Because they only know the physical. They probably found it hard to understand. Jews think that not lying, doing good deeds — that is virtue, and doing the opposite is sin. The sin of departing from God, the sin of running errands for Satan, the sin that causes all people to fall into calamity, the sin that catches one in the disease of hell and causes one to perish for eternity — that is resolved only through Christ. That is why it is a word of tremendous importance.

3. He is the one who made it possible for us to actually enjoy that power.
This is the final, third point. He is the one who made it possible for us to actually enjoy that power.

This is what is important. What good is it to have all the theory in the world? What good is it to practice all religion in the world? He is the one who made it so that we can actually enjoy the blessing.

1) Luke 10:19
In Luke 10:19 it says: “I give you authority.” What kind? “Authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and to restrain all the power of the enemy.” Jesus said it.

2) Mark 3:15
In Mark 3:15, what did he say? “I called you so that I might give you authority to cast out demons.”

3) Matthew 16:18-19
When Peter made his confession of faith, he said a remarkable thing. “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church.” And then what did he say? “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” Jesus said it. “Whatever you open on earth shall be opened in heaven, and whatever you close on earth shall be closed in heaven. The gates of hell shall absolutely not prevail against you.” This is it. Try it for yourself. History is bound to occur.

I will continue in the second service today, but Jesus did not merely come and go as Messiah and Christ. He is the one who made it so that we can actually enjoy it — that is the point. That is what is important. Back when I was an assistant pastor, I was doing a lot of evangelism, and there was a shaman’s house next to ours. They had moved in. Try it for yourself. I grabbed that gate and prayed — went to early morning prayer every day and prayed. They shut down completely. I’m telling you, try it.

I told you before. We went to Miryang with the choir, and we were sitting down to eat — we had finished worship and were about to eat — when someone came up and kept begging us. “Not here — can’t you move around to the back?” they said. “Why?” I asked. “Is this your land?” they said. “No,” they replied. “Then we are gathered here right now — why are you telling us to leave?” “Ah, we are asking, please, can’t you just go around to the back?” “What is the reason?” I asked. “Why?” “Ha — this is a place where a gut ritual is being performed, and because you are here, the spirits are not coming.” There was a gut ritual happening right next door. “Ah!” I understood what they meant. I quietly said to the congregation on purpose — “Do not leave. Stay right here.” They couldn’t do it. The authority of the name of Christ is tremendous. To you, it may look as though you are simply praying in the name of Jesus Christ, but the answers will surely come with perfect precision. Please believe it. Try it.

▣ Conclusion_ Two Prayers

I will speak about this in the second service. The prayers are two.

1. The prayer of enjoying one’s identity
This is the prayer of enjoying one’s identity. Right? What identity?
1) May the power of the Triune God come upon me.
“May the power of the Triune God come upon me.” This is identity.
2) May the nine blessings of the heavenly throne come upon me within.
“May the nine blessings of the heavenly throne come upon me within.”
3) Give me the power to save the whole world.
“Give me the power to save the whole world.” Right? This is the identity prayer.

2. The prayer of authority — it is to use it and to transmit it.
May all the forces of darkness be bound in the name of Jesus Christ.

What is the prayer of authority? It is to use it and to transmit it. “May all the forces of darkness be bound in the name of Jesus Christ.” Try it. History is bound to occur. I’m telling you, try it. How long? Just keep doing it. Remarkable things are bound to happen.

When I was young, my mother always prayed this prayer, and she said something important to me. It has stayed in my head to this day. What she said was, “I have no time to worry.” That is what she said. She said people who do worry, fret, and fight at church must be comfortable enough to afford it. “Not a single day — if I am to keep you all alive, I must work.” That was it. “And I must pray.” That was it. No time to worry. Her words still echo in my head. Oh, how fervently she must have prayed — she said she had no time to worry.

During my time as an assistant pastor, I came to understand this covenant. Who on earth is Christ — and I simply prayed to enjoy this and to use the authority, and God is bound to work.

■ How blessed is the time of worship and prayer? (Revelation 8:3-5)
How blessed is the time of worship and prayer? Revelation 8:3-5 unfolds. What is it? All your prayers and your worship ascend fully and are collected in the bowl of incense before God.
1) In the time of praying and enjoying power in the name of Christ, one becomes spiritually healthy.
When you pray this and spend time enjoying power in the name of Christ, your spirit becomes healthy — in this very time.
2) When, without worldly worry, one spiritually enjoys the authority of Christ’s name, the body is also healed.
Not constantly worrying about the world, but in this time spiritually enjoying the authority of Christ’s name — your body is also healed. Right?
3) More importantly, the backgrounds of the throne come pressing toward us.
More importantly, the backgrounds of the throne come pressing toward us. Just wait and see.
4) Watch your future unfold.
Watch your future unfold. Pray this prayer today. “Who on earth is he?” The people asked the question. I bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus, that this may become an important schedule for you. Let us pray.

Prayer. We give thanks to God. We thank you for making us know a covenant like a miracle. Excellent people, those who possess much, do not know and are in the midst of calamity — give us the schedule to transmit it to them. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
