The Mizpah Movement and the Global Bartizan
(1 Samuel 7:1-14)

(2) Inevitable – That problem that came to me is inevitable.
(3) Absolute – Within it is God’s absolute plan.
2. Throw away all idols and return to the Lord.
1) Throwing away all idols is the beginning of world healing.
2) Idol worship is the beginning of spiritual problems.
– Idols made by human hands all turn into spiritual problems.
3) Throw away all idols, return to the Lord, do the invisible root healing, and solve spiritual problems.
▷ The answer that comes at this time is Only. Because it said to return only to the Lord, the answer called Only comes. Then Only, Uniqueness, Re-creation come out.
3. Save all the people with the blood covenant.
1) The Philistines, knowing that the Israelites had gathered at Mizpah, came attacking with their army.
2) At this time, Samuel offered a burnt offering to the Lord at Mizpah (gospel recovery).
3) When he offered a burnt offering to the Lord, thunder came down from heaven.
▷ God gathered Israel at Mizpah and did gospel recovery.
Hold on as covenant to the work of God that restores everything with the blood covenant.

1. Restore worship. – The words “gather at Mizpah” mean restore worship.

1. Hold on to the spiritual, covenantal han.
1) If you harbor fleshly han, spiritual problems come.
If you have a grudge, you end up committing crimes. But if we harbor han, many answers come, but spiritual problems also come.
2) When Hannah harbored the covenantal han called the Nazirite and prayed, she received Samuel as an answer.
The woman called Hannah at first just prayed with a simple han. She prayed like this: “Why do I not have a son?” But one day, this Hannah came to harbor a spiritual han. She realized, “There is no man worthy to pray for Israel.” So she prayed to be given a Nazirite, that son. This prayer is surely fulfilled. That son is Samuel.
When Samuel was young, he saw Israel being ruined. So it says that Samuel never ceased praying. Through this Samuel, great works came to happen now.
Today, you must hold on not just to anything, but truly to a spiritual, covenantal han.
3) Hold on to covenantal han within the reality of suffering hardship.
So it’s a small thing, but this that we do, answers to prayer happen. I didn’t realize it from reading too many big books, and I didn’t realize it from meeting some great person either. I just saw our elders and the church suffer so much. I saw them suffer a lot needlessly. And I saw them unable to evangelize and suffering hardship. It’s not that it’s difficult; it’s that it’s visible realistically. I went to several churches. They were all suffering the same hardships. So, unless I’m a fool, I held on to this as covenant.
God surely answers your prayers. Right now, just as it is, the door of world evangelization that no one can block is opening. Here there are Remnants. You must discover that. “I must receive this kind of answer toward our region, my parents, my family, and many people suffering hardship.” You must hold on to that covenant.
Even now, people are listening to the covenant, the Word, together online or around the world. What you must especially be careful of is that you must not listen to my sermon. You must hold on to God’s Word in today’s text. There are many fields that are the same as ours. What covenant did they pray with? You must hold on to that. Just by changing this thought, God brings tremendous works.
2. Before praying, change the thoughts you have.
1) In small moments, we are trapped in what is called “I.”
First of all, before praying today, there are thoughts you have. You must change them. “I can’t do it.” You probably know these parts. You must change those thoughts.
Starting from coming out of Egypt, they didn’t hold on to the exact covenant, and “Ah, we overcame Egypt and came out.” They’re talking only about this now. When I was young and going to school, we went to see movies at school, right? I saw a movie about Moses twice. And it was a movie that had nothing to do with the covenant at all. Something like, they were oppressed in Egypt and came out, that’s it.
But the real covenant is not that. It came out on the day the people of Israel forgot the blood covenant and then recovered it.
So today, when you hold on to the covenant, what’s most important first is this thought; you must change the thoughts you have. With the level I have, I can’t do world evangelization. Because of this, in these small moments we are trapped in what is called “I.” Today, to truly receive answers, you must not be trapped in what is called “I.”
2) The characteristic of the 7 Remnants was that they were not trapped in what is called “I.”
So what is the characteristic of the 7 Remnants who received answers? Joseph had his brothers and his family’s situation, right? With that, he can’t do world evangelization. He wasn’t trapped. You just need to change this alone. Then God is bound to work.
Look at the 7 Remnants carefully, I’m telling you. The people of Israel were serving as slaves in Egypt, eating to get by, and not realizing at all that there was a problem there, and with those people you can’t save the world. God called Moses, who had the covenant. Moses already held on to this covenant and heard it when he was young. For us, no matter how much, no matter how much I pray and worship, if I’m trapped in my own thoughts, it doesn’t work. With David’s brothers, nothing can be done. So it’s the difference of one sheet of paper. If you truly believe God’s power. What did David’s brothers say? “We can never fight Goliath and win.” They couldn’t go out to battle and were frozen stiff. Even though David had expertise in throwing stones, when David said he would go out and fight, they cursed him. David’s brothers cannot do world evangelization. You must hold on to that as covenant today. David held on to this covenant.
3) Even if you pray and worship, if you are trapped in your own thoughts, nothing works.
So if we don’t change this thinking, no matter how much we pray, it doesn’t work. “No, even today’s work is hard, how can I make a world bartizan?” Look at today’s title. Look at the text too. “I can’t even travel abroad freely, how can I make a world bartizan?” “I’m a student, how can I make a world bartizan?”
This time, Remnants abroad registered, and a thousand of them couldn’t come in because they didn’t have visas. Our country didn’t give visas. So we must do work beforehand that our country can trust. “No, I have to come to Korea and receive evangelism movement (training), but I can’t even get a visa, so how can I make a world bartizan?”
There will be new family members here. “No, I’m believing for the first time, I’m a new family member, how can I make the world a bartizan?” You must reach a clear conclusion. “No, my body is sick too. What world bartizan can I make?” “I don’t say it, but actually I have nothing and I have no strength.” You must completely reach the answer and go.
▣ Main_ Gather at Mizpah.
What is that answer? It’s to gather at Mizpah. Even if I have nothing, I can truly pray. Samuel shows that evidence today. All Israel, gather at Mizpah.
Your prayer breaks the ruler of the kingdom of the air. Prayer moves the throne. Prayer moves the invisible eternal things. More amazing, prayer transcends time and space. This is prayer.
Gather at Mizpah. What does that mean? It means you can’t do it, but if you truly go into prayer, it gets done.
Now, we must take with us how they made the bartizan of Mizpah today.
1. Throw away all excuses and return to the Lord.
It’s the first. Throw away all excuses and return to the Lord.
1) Throwing away all excuses is the beginning of the world bartizan.
This is the beginning of the world bartizan. Throw away all excuses. It doesn’t make sense. “We can’t live because of the Philistines.” That’s nonsense. Israel has no power, so why are the Philistines the problem? Now, making excuses about Japan too, you must not do it too long. You must not keep milking it like that for thousands of years. So as the leader called Samuel appeared, “The Philistines are not the problem. All Israel, return to the Lord. Throw away all unbelief and excuses first and return to the Lord.” What is it? He touched the root cause.
Right now the Philistines are not the problem. The forces of darkness shaking the Philistines and Israel and the whole world are the problem. Return to the Lord to collapse this. This happened at the field of Mizpah.
It’s not Israel’s problem, they don’t even know the gospel. Actually, Israel was given the gospel but they don’t know the gospel. They’re realizing it wrongly. “The Lord is the God of our Israel.” That’s wrong. “The Messiah who is coming is the Messiah who will crush all other nations and save our country.” That’s an idea that would get you beaten to death. Israel is realizing it that way. To us, “You are Gentiles, we are the chosen people.” So they can’t enjoy the gospel at all. Only suffering continues to come upon the nation of Israel.
At this time, a person who realized the gospel came out. “Throw away all excuses and return to the Lord.”
3) When you meet a problem, think of 3 things.
Remnants too, and all of you, today, when you meet a problem, you must think of three things. What are they?
(1) Natural
Natural. What came now, this is natural. What had to come has come. What had to come has come. “Why am I so poor?” What had to come has come.
(2) Inevitable
Then what is it? “Why did it come to me?” That is the inevitable.
(3) Absolute

What is this? It’s the beginning of world healing. This is, throw away all idols and return. They don’t know what idols are. Throw those away and return.
2) Idol worship is the beginning of spiritual problems.
There’s no need for a long talk. I think that if Japan is evangelized, world evangelization will happen very quickly. There’s something that must definitely be told to the nation of Japan. The idols made all over the country all turn into spiritual problems. That’s why God told us not to do it.
In the old days, our Korean pastors did not oppose the shrine worship movement. What is it? They opposed idol worship. You must make the content precise.
Don’t many religions now bow while looking at images? That is all the beginning of spiritual problems. Only the Bible is teaching it, right? No matter how much I think about it, it’s astonishing. Only in the Bible, only in God’s Word is the answer given.
Amazingly, the whole world makes some kind of statues in droves and bows. All of that brings spiritual problems. As expected, America’s level becomes higher. America didn’t create images. They recite strange ideas and incantations, create meditation movements, and move the whole world. It’s saying return from there. Throw away all idols and return. Because they don’t know. Return from all Satan, darkness, and curses. Because everything made by human hands brings spiritual problems, return from there.
3) Do the invisible root healing and solve spiritual problems.
These religious books are very bad books. They make people get ruined, precisely. Only God’s Word gives the answer. Perhaps you all listen to my sermons, right? If there’s an objection, if some religious organization has an objection, come and see me. I’ll explain it to you. “You go into that mountain, make some shape, and sit there, right? You’ll die. You’re in big trouble.”
And such nations around the world now have problems. If Japan just realizes that, it’s the best nation. All over Japan, idols. All over Taiwan, idols. Simply put, all over Southeast Asia they’ve fallen into idols. They even, having received some spirit, make snakes and stick them up. They make dragons and stick them up. They even stuck them up in the church. When I went to Taiwan, they had stuck them up in the church too. They really don’t know at all. When I said, “Why did you stick this up?” they said the Taiwanese dragon is a good thing.
I went to a conference in LA in America and something like that happened, right? We rented a venue for the conference, and I was the speaker, and many people gathered. But in that church they had collected idols to a shocking degree, in the church. There was no way this was okay. So I talked about it when the conference ended. So, as I was coming out after the conference ended, this associate pastor came at me as if to fight. But what he said was funny. Well, “We lent you the church, so you must not say such words officially.” That’s it. So I asked, “Why did you put idols there?” I told him where my lodging was and to come find me. To talk. He didn’t come. The world is actually serious.
Throw away all idols and return to the Lord. Simply put, do the invisible root healing. Solve spiritual problems.
At this time there’s an answer that comes. What is it? Only. This comes. Because it said to throw away everything and return only to the Lord, the answer called Only comes. You who are living the life of faith, don’t do it halfway, but if you do it for real, really before God, Only is seen. A person who just does the life of faith halfway, there’s no one as foolish as that. The gospel is not like that. It’s worth staking your life on. Then Only, Uniqueness, Re-creation come out.
Never be discouraged, and one Remnant can save like that.
3. Save all the people with the blood covenant.
There’s a third thing you must not miss. What is it? Save all the people with the blood covenant. Do you know what they did at this time?
1) The Philistines came attacking with their army.
Ordinary people miss this, but knowing that they gathered at Mizpah, the Philistines came attacking with their army. These Philistines, there’s no stopping them.
2) At this time, Samuel offered a burnt offering to the Lord.
At that time, what did Samuel do? He offered a burnt offering to the Lord. That is gospel recovery.
3) God sent down thunder from heaven.
When he offered a burnt offering to the Lord, what did God do then? He sent down thunder from heaven. He threw the Philistines into confusion.
God can do all things, even using the natural world.
There, having gathered them at Mizpah, simply put, He did gospel recovery. The work of restoring everything with the blood covenant happens. You must hold on to these three things today. It’s not difficult. Never believe lies, but you must believe God’s Word. Even now it’s not too late. It’s normal for a life movement to arise, an evangelism movement to arise, and a Word movement to arise around you. No matter how hard you worked, if that doesn’t arise, I can’t live, is what I’m saying. It must arise anew.
▣ Conclusion
So what is the conclusion you will take with you today and pray about all day?
1. Restore worship.
Gather at Mizpah. Restore worship. Gather at Mizpah, these words mean restore worship. It’s enough if you just restore worship.

2. Restore the prayer that I do.

During the war in America, someone like Lincoln said something like that, right? “Now do not pray asking God to be with us. Pray that you may be with God. Because God is with you, you are with God.” They asked him to pray for them, but the people of Israel must start praying.

3. Set up the memorial stone of Ebenezer for future generations to see.
It comes out lastly. At this time Samuel takes a stone and sets up a memorial stone. For future generations to see. The name of that stone he set up is Ebenezer. He set up a memorial stone saying that God has helped us and been with us until now. This is what you must do.
Don’t listen to anything else, and you restore the gospel and restore prayer. Because of that, throw away all excuses and return to the Lord. Throw away all darkness and return to the Lord. Burnt offering, restore the gospel and return to the Lord. Then worship becomes restored.

For pastors, even sleep is not what’s important. It must be a message that delivers God’s certain will to you. So if we miss this today, we miss everything.
God’s children keep making excuses. What is it? God’s children keep being in unbelief. It’s saying return quickly. God’s children have fallen into idols and darkness. It’s saying return quickly. God’s children don’t know the authority of the gospel that overcomes Satan, curses, and disasters. Restore quickly and return.
